The Waterfront
brings to life the sights, sounds and characters of the harbor through an array
of shows, strolling entertainers and musicians - offering surprises and adventure
around every corner.
Kat 'n' Kaboodle
What seaport is complete
without a menagerie of mischievous felines roaming the docks? Kat 'n' Kaboodle
is a "purr"-iffic new street show featuring an incredible display of purebred
cats from throughout the seven seas. The fun starts when a zany seaport citizen
arrives in a pedicab full of feisty friends that are guaranteed to wow the crowd
with their amazing "cat feats." The beauty, wonder and charm of 16 exotic breeds
of cats, including Bengal, Sphynx, Persian and Siamese, are showcased as they
climb ropes, leap to new heights and cause havoc in the harbor.
Street
Life Performers And Musicians
Guests meandering through The Waterfront
encounter a variety of colorful characters and musical ensembles. The sounds of
a bustling seaport blend with the musical strains of violins, mandolins and accordions
for an authentic Mediterranean serenade.
The Harbormaster
The
unofficial mayor of The Waterfront is the Harbormaster, an iconic sea captain
who keeps a watchful eye on the comings and goings in the seaport. He greets guests
and entertains with tall tales of life on the sea.
The Aquanuts
A comedic duo of longshoremen entertain passersby with interactive improvisations
and zany antics.
The Groove Chefs
No ordinary orchestra, this
fun-loving trio of seaport busboys creates percussion rhythms and makes music
with the tools of their trade: pots, pans, buckets - and even garbage cans.
Seafire
Inn Theater
Day show: Rico & Roza's Musical Feast is an interactive, entertaining
musical revue at The Seafire Inn. Proprietors Rico and Roza regale park guests
with tall tales and merry music in a 25-minute musical celebration of family and
fun.
Night show to open June 26: When the sun sets over the harbor, it is
time to journey into the colorful, mysterious and exotic world of the South Seas.
A tribe of performers arrives at The Seafire Inn by outrigger boat to mark the
beginning of the Makahiki Luau. This Luau is a bountiful celebration filled with
ancient customs, rhythmic music and dance, authentic costumes and the delectable
cuisine of the Pacific Islands.
Interactive Play Areas
Kids
(and adults alike) can splash in the 6-foot-tall dancing waters of The Compass
Rose Fountain, as its magical waters dance to a symphonic score.
In The Smugglers
Way Tidal Pool, children can frolic on the beach and in the water as the tide
bursts through natural crevices along the rocky shoreline, creating splish-splash
fun for all ages.
Fireworks At The Waterfront
A dazzling fireworks
display completes the day at SeaWorld, as stirring music fills the air and breathtaking
pyrotechnics soar from every corner of the harbor. Shows will be performed nightly
throughout the summer and during holiday seasons.
The Tower
SeaWorld's
400-foot landmark, The Tower, has been a visual icon since the park opened in
1973. Transformed as the centerpiece of the all-new Tower Island, it is now surrounded
by an aged fortress and a bar overlooking the picturesque harbor.
The Tower's
six-minute capsule ride takes guests at a leisurely pace up to the top and back
again, and slowly rotates for a complete bird's-eye view. From the capsule, guests
can see downtown Orlando and other area attractions. (Capsule opens mid-June)
Pets
Ahoy
Also located within the new expansion is the popular Pets Ahoy show
-- a hilarious performance featuring the talents of a menagerie of dogs, cats,
birds, rats, skunks, pot-belly pigs, and other animals performing a series of
uproarious skits. Most impressive is the fact that nearly all of the fabulous
four-legged celebs were rescued from animal shelters before they found their fame
at SeaWorld.
