What's the difference between Disney's Intimate and Custom weddings?
Intimate Weddings are complete wedding and honeymoon packages designed for the bride and groom. They typically include a small ceremony with cake and a champagne toast, a wedding meal at a Walt Disney World restaurant, lodging at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate up to eight guests at the ceremony and wedding meal.
Custom Weddings are personalized events that allow the bride and groom to design a wedding ceremony and private reception in the Walt Disney World location of their choice. Because these are more elaborate, personalized events, minimum expenditures of $7,500 for weddings held Monday through Thursday, and $10,000 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weddings, will apply. There are also certain food and beverage and room night minimums. Your Wedding Sales Manager will work with you to establish a budget that meets all these requirements.

What documents will I need for my Disney wedding?
Proof of a valid Florida marriage license is required prior to hosting your wedding ceremony at the Walt Disney World Resort. Sorry, but passports are not acceptable as proof of marriage.
If a previous marriage ended in divorce within 90 days in the state of Florida, or in the past year out of state, a copy of the divorce decree is required. Both bride and groom must be present to obtain the license.

What is a Disney wedding going to cost?
First of all, no two Disney weddings are alike. Prices for Disney's Intimate Weddings start at $3,869. Custom Weddings require a minimum expenditure of $10,000 for events Friday through Sunday, or $7,500 for events Monday through Thursday, excluding tax and gratuity. During the holiday season, a higher minimum may apply. There are also room night and food and beverage minimums. Food and beverage, flowers, decor, music, entertainment, photography services, special transportation, spa services, ceremony site fees, and any other services provided by Disney exclusively for the wedding event will apply toward reaching the minimum. For a general idea of what a Custom Wedding might include, visit the Sample Budget section, or contact a Disney Wedding Specialist at Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings at (407) 828-3400 for a personal proposal.

What's the payment and deposit schedule for a Disney wedding?
An Intimate Wedding requires a deposit equal to one night's room and tax within two weeks of booking. The balance of the package price and cost for any additional guests are due 21 days prior to your arrival date.
Deposits for Custom Weddings are required in order to confirm your wedding event space and begin planning your event and reserving hotel room accommodations at special discounted rates. A signed Letter of Agreement along with a minimum non-refundable deposit will be required to confirm your wedding date. This non-refundable deposit will be applied to the minimum cost requirement of your Disney wedding. The full estimated payment (payable by check, money order, American Express, or other accepted credit cards) of your event is due one month prior to the wedding date. You will receive a detailed Letter of Agreement that will further explain the payment schedule and deposit amounts.

When can I reserve my wedding date?
Disney weddings can be tentatively booked 12 months in advance of your wedding date (based on availability). A minimum of seven days to plan an Intimate Wedding, and 30 days to plan a Custom Wedding, is required. We are able to confirm all Custom Wedding space eight months prior to your requested date.

Does Disney offer any kind of photography and videography service for my event?
Disney Photographic Services are available to capture the magical memories of your wedding day. A wide range of styles and packages are available. In addition, your Disney photography and videography purchase will count toward your minimum Custom Wedding expenditure.

I love Mickey and Minnie. Could they act as Best Man and Maid of Honor at our wedding?
Sorry, but the famous Disney Characters are not available to participate in the wedding ceremony in any way. However, they'd be delighted to attend your reception to mingle with guests, pose for unforgettable photographs, "cut in" on the first dance, even help you cut the cake. Character appearances are available in 30-minute increments and count toward your minimum Custom Wedding expenditure.

Is there a spa where my bridesmaids and I can pamper ourselves before the big day?
Ah, yes. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is located just next door to Disney's Wedding Pavilion. There you can take advantage of all the latest spa therapies, treatments, and beauty regimens. And just in case the guys need a little help with those pre-wedding jitters, a massage might work wonders for them, too. You might also want to arrange a massage in the "couples" room for the day after the wedding -- the ultimate indulgence!

Custom Wedding Questions

Is it proper etiquette to have my guests pay for their own rooms?
Absolutely! It is not customary for the bride and groom to pay the travel or room expenses of their invited guests. In fact, your guests are sure to appreciate the offer of discounted room rates and specially priced Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets.

Are my guests required to stay at the Walt Disney World Resort? Will they receive a discounted room rate?
Your guests may stay wherever they please, however, in order to make it easy and affordable for them to attend your special Disney event, we are pleased to offer the lowest room rates available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
Based on your estimated number of guests, you must guarantee a minimum number of room nights at Walt Disney World owned and operated Resorts. Your Disney Wedding Sales Manager will be happy to discuss these minimums in detail to ensure your comfort level.

What about Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets?
We are pleased to offer specially priced Walt Disney World ticket options for your wedding guests. This information will be mailed to them in the exclusive "Advance Ticket Order Forms" we'll send out for you during the months prior to your wedding. To make it even easier, your guests can pre-purchase their tickets directly through our specially designated travel center, and have them delivered to their home or their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

Is childcare available? We're planning an adults-only wedding.
Certainly. A number of options are available, ranging from in-room baby-sitting to themed children's parties held concurrently in a room adjacent to your celebration. In addition, many Walt Disney World Resort hotels offer on-site children's "clubs." Ask your Disney Wedding Sales Manager.

Can Disney supply all the wedding services I'll need?
Yes. One of the best things about a Disney wedding is that through the aid of your Wedding Planning Team you'll have the vast resources of the Walt Disney World Resort at your fingertips. These include: Professional Wedding Event Manager; Photography; Floral Design; Catering; Wedding Cakes; Entertainment Planner (includes decor, theming, music, landscaping, characters, lighting design, staging, etc.); Musicians; Professional Hair and Makeup; Transportation; Travel Center; Specialty Table Linen Rental; Invitations/Favors; Dress Pressing (by referral only); Officiant; Tuxedo Rental (by referral only).

Will transportation be available for my guests on the day of our wedding?
Disney's Wedding Pavilion is not on the Walt Disney World Resort transportation system. To ensure the safety of your guests and the timeliness of your event, a Luxury Motorcoach Charter rental is available at an additional fee. Charter bus transportation allows for direct and easy access to the entire wedding event for your guests as well as a return to their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel at the conclusion of your celebration. In addition, the bus runs continuously throughout the event, giving those with small children or those who wish to return early (or stay late!) the opportunity to do so.

Can I have a Catholic ceremony and be married by a priest?
Although Disney's Wedding Pavilion is non-denominational, the official Orlando Catholic Diocese position is that no wedding ceremonies will be recognized outside the Catholic Church. We encourage you to speak with your personal clergy about your situation.

Can Disney theme my wedding?
Sure! In fact, it's their specialty. Many locations provide an "instant theme," such as The Living Seas Lounge at Epcot, or any of the Epcot Pavilions including France, Japan, the Rose Garden in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Canada. Or how about a 1940s Americana theme with swing-dancing at Atlantic Dance at Disney's BoardWalk Resort or the ultimate Cinderella fantasy in the Magic Kingdom Park? In the past, couples have created amazing themed environments including a fog-shrouded "Midsummer Night's Dream" enchanted forest, Cinderella's Ball, even a "Winter Wonderland" complete with an "ice-skating pond" for a dance floor. The possibilities are as endless as the imagination.

Intimate Wedding Questions

I have 15 guests. Can I have an Intimate Wedding?
Sorry, but service quality issues and restaurant capabilities require that Intimate Weddings are limited to parties of ten or fewer, including the bride and groom. If you would like to have more than eight guests, look into a Custom Wedding.

Will I need to arrange an officiant for the ceremony?
Disney's Wedding Pavilion is non-denominational and you are welcome to bring an officiant of your choice. If you'd like a recommendation, your professional Wedding Consultant can provide you with a list of officiants who have previously performed ceremonies at the Walt Disney World Resort.

I'm planning an Intimate Wedding. What Resorts can I choose from? Is there a "minimum stay" requirement? How many guests can I invite?
An Intimate Wedding package includes a minimum four night stay at a participating Walt Disney World Resort hotel, including any of the following: Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's BoardWalk Resort, or Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort.
You can also choose one of the following locations for your wedding ceremony: Disney's Wedding Pavilion, Sea Breeze Point at Disney's BoardWalk Resort, the Wedding Gazebo at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Sunset Pointe at Disney's Polynesian Resort, or Sunrise Terrace at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
Intimate Weddings include the bride and groom and allow you to invite up to eight guests. (No exceptions made!) You may choose to have your guests join you for your special day for just $75 for each adult and $55 for each child (ages 3-9). They'll enjoy wedding cake and a champagne toast following the ceremony, along with lunch or dinner at a participating Walt Disney World Resort restaurant of your choice. They ask that each guest be registered at a selected Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Your Disney Intimate Wedding Coordinator will be happy to assist you with these reservations.

Vow Renewal Questions

I want to celebrate my 10th anniversary with a vow renewal -- can you help me?
Congratulations! More and more couples are choosing to celebrate their love by renewing their vows at the most magical place on earth. In fact, any of the Intimate Wedding packages or Custom Wedding elements can be personalized for your vow renewal.

How much will it cost to have a disney vow renewal?
The same requirements for the Intimate Weddings and Custom Weddings apply to your vow renewal; it all depends on what you have in mind. Choose a simple ceremony for the two of you and up to eight guests, or go all out with a reunion of family and friends and the extravagant wedding you've always dreamed of. Your Disney Wedding Planning Team can make it happen.

Are any documents required for a vow renewal?
Yes. They must have a copy of your original wedding certificate in order to perform a vow renewal. Sorry, but there are no exceptions.

Where can I get more information?
