Just outside the entrance to the theme park is the Rainforest Cafe,
remarkably re-creating a tropical rainforest through a combination
of live and animated wildlife and special effects.
Walking into Rainforest Cafe, you're greeted by lush vegetation,
live tropical birds, simulated thunder and lightning, rain showers,
majestic rock formations, talking trees, whimsical crocodiles, playful
primates, fluttering butterflies, and the sounds and smells of a
tropical rainforest. Everything is set against an amazing backdrop
of enormous saltwater fish tanks, cascading waterfalls, and larger-than-life
banyan trees.
The restaurant, featuring an assortment of casual dining menu items
including pastas, salads, sandwiches and desserts, can be reached
from both outside and inside the park.
Brief, dramatic thunderstorms occur throughout the day inside the
cafe. Gushing waterfalls, twisting tree trunks, & colourful
fish add to the ambience.

"My parents and I had lunch here in May 2002. We had a PS,
but had to wait about 20 minutes for a table - not too bad. The
atmosphere of this restaurant is awesome! We were seated by a group
of gorillas that got a little crazy every 15 minutes or so. Very
fun! If you have kids they will love it! However, if they are not
patient, you may have a problem on your hands, because the service
is kind of slow. The menu is very large, however, so there should
be something for everyone. I had a house salad and Rio's Margherita
Delight Pizza - excellent! My mom had the 1/2 rack of ribs and my
dad had the crab cake sandwich. They both said they were good, but
not the best. Oh well! You can't please everyone." Shane
"I had heard many and I do mean many bad reviews about the
RFC in the AK, but I stuck to my guns and tried it anyway. I'm very
glad I did! DH and I arrived at the park at 8:25 just 5 minutes
before our PS. We were at the bus stop at the Allstars by 7:45,
but the bus didn't arrive til about 8:15! I was upset, but kinda
expected it. The buses to the AK are some of the worse at the Allstars.
All the others were great though! Anyway, DH and I checked in and
were told to go stand near the fish tanks and we would be seated
shortly. In about 3-4 minutes we were. Our server was Letty and
not only was she sweet and personable...but she was VERY BEAUTIFUL!
Both DH and I let her know this and she was very humble with her
thanks. I had the Tonga Toast with a side of bacon. Pardon me while
I do the Happy Dance!!!!!!! The Tonga Toast WAS DA BOMB!! It was
HUGE and the walnuts just gave it that little extra kick!! I had
the smoothie called the Cockatoo Cocktail (kiwi, banana, strawberry,
and ocean spray) with tea to drink. DH had the Viper (Mexican pizza
topped with scrambled eggs, roma tomatoes, cilantro, red, green,
and poblano peppers, and jack & cheddar cheeses), he had the Key
Wester smoothie (strawberries, bananas, and ocean spray) and water.
About 1/2 way through my toast, I said no more and DH kindly took
over. I did eat all of my bacon though and drank most of my smoothie.
It was pretty quiet the morning we were there and I kinda appreciated
that. Let me tell you this though, we when slid back through during
lunch time to use the restroom...totally different story!! Restaurant
was packed! The cost of our meal was $35.22 and with the gratuity
of $4.98 that grand total comes out to be $40.20." Denise
"we thought about going to the rainforest cafe in ak when
we arrived all the seats were booked (so book in advance) we didnt
know at the time we asked how long we had to wait and the answer
was 3hrs for lunch as they gave us a ticket with a time printed
on it after 1hr we decided not to wait ne longer and went back to
the resort for food." Wendy
