Karaoke, Dances and Other Types of Evening Fun
All the facilities and activities on-board a family-centred cruise ship have been selected with a lot of attention to children’s preferences and perception of fun: the pool, waterslides, mini golf, basketball courses, climbing wall, … there is often an entire amusement park on the main deck. But what about entertainment after dark? Most children, including the youngest ones don’t want to go sleep early. And they want to be entertained. Don’t worry, there is plenty of evening fun on-board as well.
Listed below are some of the favourite children’s evening activities and programmes:
-
Karaoke. All children love to sing. As a result, it is not a surprise that karaoke is extremely popular with children, especially the youngest ones (the older ones tend to be a little bit shy singers). Although many are still too young to read the lyrics, that’s not an obstacle because they have all their favourite songs in their heads. To make it more fun and enjoyable, parents are invited to sing along their youngsters.
-
Dances. Dancing is another thing children simply cannot get enough. Most cruise ships therefore hold kids-only dances in the evening but there are dancing programmes welcoming parents as well. Very popular are also children’s dance performances - they are assigned roles and taught to dance during day-time dance classes.
-
Outdoor cinema. Appropriate for all ages, outdoor cinema is traditionally well attended and provides the youngest passengers with the opportunity to enjoy all-time children’s favourites as well as the latest Hollywood releases.
-
Live performances. Though children usually don’t consider live performances as entertainment, many change their minds after seeing stage shows inspired by some of the greatest children’s classics. Those a little bit older, on the other hand, are more likely to enjoy adult themes which have been chosen with families in mind as well.
-
Book reading groups. Young children love a good bedtime story and thus evening book reading groups are very popular with the youngest passengers.
Late Evening Group Baby-Sitting
Sometimes children just want to play with their peers and don’t need any additional entertainment. If your child is having a great time with other children, why not let him or her play with his or her new mates into the evening.
