Animal stars - including many animal shelter adoptees - take center stage at Universal Studios in the exciting, interactive "Animal Planet Live!" attraction, bringing the popular Animal Planet television network's favorite shows together with behind-the-scenes movie magic.
"Animal Planet Live!" integrates demonstrations by the world's most clever and dexterous animal stars, multi-media effects, human co-stars and unique sketches into a warm and lively family entertainment experience.
Inspired by Animal Planet's popular shows that both entertain and show how "Life is better with animals," the talents and stories of the special animals are incorporated into the performances and the show's six segments.
"Animal Planet Live!" features special video clips from such popular Animal Planet television shows as "Emergency Vets," "The Planet's Funniest Animals," "The Jeff Corwin Experience," "Wild on the Set" and the network's lively animal sports programs. In keeping with the Universal Studios tradition of delighting its millions of guests with Hollywood tricks of the trade, the animal stars of "Animal Planet Live!" are showcased for their intelligence, talents and pure joy.
Almost all of the stars of "Animal Planet Live!" have experience "rags to riches" transformations, as the majority of dogs and cats in the show were rescued from shelters and pounds. There is even a "retirement" program for four-legged stars who are getting a little gray in the whiskers, and an adoption program for the animals who decide they "would like to pursue other interests."
Many of the animal stars featured in "Animal Planet Live!" have extensive credits in film and television production. Among the animals featured in the show are:
Meesha, the talented gray Himalayan, who co-starred with Robert De-Niro and Ben Stiller, as Jinx, the toilet using cat, in the Universal Pictures hit, "Meet the Parents."
Sniffles, a rescued racoon, who shared the spotlight with Jim Carrey in "Ace Venture, Pet Detective."
Spooner, a four-year-old Australian Shepherd, who was discovered at an animal shelter before landing his break-out role in the Baha Men's video "Who Let the Dogs Out."
