This joint is always jumpin'! Welcome to CityJazz, dedicated to preserving the sights and sounds of jazz's past and present greats.

Luminaries from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz including Bill Cope, renowned trumpeter Clark Terry, Thelonious Monk III and others have lent their expertise to help design this world-class jazz performance center.

Here you can enjoy live music from both the legends of jazz and some of the hottest rising new stars. You can pay tribute to the giants of jazz enshrined in the Down Beat Jazz Hall of FameŽ, located throughout CityJazz.

And, you can trace the history of jazz through one of the most extensive collections of jazz memorabilia ever assembled.

You'll find the musical instruments that produced some of the sweetest sounds this side of heaven, like Glenn Miller's first trombone, trumpets from Maynard Ferguson and Woody Shaw, a Wes Montgomery guitar, Lionel Hampton's mallets, Edward Blackwell's drum sticks, Sonny Rollins' tenor sax, Rahsaan Roland Kirk's alto and soprano saxophones, Thelonious Monk's piano, and more.

Examine rare personal belongings including Ella Fitzgerald's performance gowns, Dave Brubeck's glasses, Stan Kenton's shoes, Eric Dolphy's childhood photos, Art Blakey, Sr.'s hat, a Sun Ra walking stick, even Miles Davis' high school diploma.

And explore an incredible array of awards, album covers, song sheets, concert posters and programs, photographs, paintings, handwritten letters and other personal mementos from the legends of jazz.

While you listen to your favorite performers, you can enjoy a menu of delicious appetizers including Sevrugs Caviar, assorted sushi, duck potstickers, escargot, and Oysters Rockefeller, as well as an impressive wine list and world-class martinis. Whether you're a serious jazz aficionado or a casual listener, CityJazz is sure to instill an even greater appreciation of this most important American art form.
