Day 2 - Sunday
We are still a little groggy so we slept in a bit today. After
the wake up around 10, we head over to the food court for a little
breakfast. Not too bad but not something I could eat everyday. After
breakfast, back over to the room to get showered up and then we
head over to Epcot. Did our spins around future world and pretty
much hit everything we wanted to and with minimal lines. Stopped
for a small late lunch in the electric umbrella and off we go to
World Showcase (dinner reservations for 5:30 at Biergarten tonight).
But before we get to world showcase, we HAVE to have our traditional
stop at Ice Station Cool. If any of you read my last trip report,
you’ll see that we’ve tried the Italian soda several
times and every single time we’ve said it was terrible. But,
for some reasons, we must be gluttons for punishment and we try
it again. Although this time, we get Kristen in on it too. (very
funny pics by the way). Once again, I don’t think I have to
tell you but IT WAS TERRIBLE. But, I do have to say that we’ll
probably do it again on our next trip.
Now, I don’t know if I haven’t paid much attention
to this or if they did a lot more of them this time but I’ve
noticed a lot more street show entertainment going on. We didn’t
stop to see too much of them but they were enjoyable nonetheless.
Although, we did spend quite a bit of time at the living statue
in Italy. We didn’t really go into a lot of the countries
this time, mainly just strolled through most of them. After a great
dinner (as usual) at Biergarten Kristen and I are off to MGM for
EMH and Clint is on his way back to the room for the superbowl.
We had a little bit of time and knowing that we’ll have three
more hours, we took a light stroll over there through the international
gateway and along the boardwalk. My impressions of the boardwalk
are a little better this time and I actually found it a nice quiet
spot to just sit on a bench and look out at the water for a few
minutes. So, we arrive at MGM off of the boat we caught at the boardwalk
and see a long line of people waiting to get on. Here we are thinking
this is wonderful and that it seems like not a lot of people are
going to stay here for EMH tonight!!!
As we are walking up to the ticket booth, a lot of people are walking
out and we hear the loud fireworks and music from Fantasmic and
we are still seeing lots of people walking out. We are really thinking
we’ve hit the jackpot here and are all set for a fun 3 hours
of Aerosmith and the tower. (insert game show beeping sound here)
We were terribly wrong. We get up to the ticket booth and a very
nice CM is putting those nice vinyl ticket collector cozies over
top of the machines. So, we walk up to him (along with about 10
other people) and ask him where we get in for EMH. He looks at us
very nicely and says that they aren’t here for tonight but
were last night at MGM (insert look of confusion). Me: “but
we have the schedule right here that says it’s tonight”.
CM: “that schedule was for last week”. Ok, now I’m
totally confused. We know that EMH obviously isn’t here tonight
so we turn around and head back for the bus. I pull my nifty schedule
out of my purse and decide to give it another looksy. Well, look
here…at the very top of it there is a nice little note that
says for the week of……. You guessed it…the week
before we got there! We decided at this point that we have no desire
to sit in the room and watch the superbowl so maybe we should stop
and have a drink in the bar. Off we go to the front desk to get
the new EMH schedule and see a huge crowd of raving football fans
screaming every time the Patriots get a score.
Ok, now shop in the giftshop for a little while, sit outside on
the bench in the quarter outside of the room. We are very bored.
We ultimately decide we are defeated at this point and head back
to the room to see a very confused Clint buried in his football
pools. We explained our story and decided that we would turn our
heads for the commercials but for now, we are reading and checking
our email. BTW…I STILL can’t believe that they don’t
have internet connection ports in the rooms here. Do they not realize
that there are IT people staying in they’re rooms and we begin
to break into convulsions if we can’t check our email! Geez,
I mean…I really need to see how much spam I have for today
and notice that there was no reason at all for me to check my email
since no one is sending me work =)
