It's a family affair. Tom Joyner, host of the nation's No. 1 urban
morning radio show, recently announced that packages are on sale
for the nation's largest Labor Day family reunion celebration at
Walt Disney World Resort -- The Tom Joyner Family Reunion.
This will be a family reunion like none other. The fun-filled weekend,
scheduled for Sept. 2-4, features performances by some of the country's
best-known musicians, comedians and gospel acts. Families attending
the event will have full access to Walt Disney World Resort's four
fantastic theme parks, coupled with an array of special experiences
and parties hosted by Tom Joyner and his morning show crew. Disney's
Coronado Springs Resort will let families stay in the middle of
the magic.
The lineup includes comedian Damon Wayans of ABC-TV's sitcom "My
Wife and Kids" and of "In Living Color" fame, Grammy
Award-winning songstress Ashanti, hip hop phenom Omarion, '90s hit-maker
Hammer, and several gospel greats including the legendary Shirley
Caesar, Dr. Bobby Jones, Smokie Norful and Lil iRocc. Additional
top-name artists will be announced in the coming months. In previous
years, performers have included Beyonce and Destiny's Child, LL
Cool J, D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer.
"Here's your chance to have your family reunion with me and
some of my favorite performers and comedians at the world's most
popular theme parks," said Joyner, whose four-hour, drive-time
morning show is syndicated in 115 markets and reaches more than
eight million listeners. "You've got to bring everybody because
you know you, Big Mama, PawPaw, Cousin Cookie and Uncle RayRay will
have the time of your life."
Tom Joyner Family Reunion guests will be among the first to experience
exciting new attractions and shows at Walt Disney World Resort,
such as the "Cinderellabration" stage show at Magic Kingdom,
Soarin' at Epcot and "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt
Show" at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It's all a part of the "Happiest
Celebration on Earth," an 18-month-long celebration commemorating
50 years of Disney theme parks and in honor of Disneyland's 50th
anniversary. The "Happiest Celebration on Earth" launches
on May 5, 2005.
"We are thrilled to once again host The Tom Joyner Family
