When you want a break from touring the parks, here are a few ideas.
If you have any ideas to add, email
me.
Have a character meal, favourites
are the Once Upon a Time character breakfast in Cinderella's castle.
Characters vary but include Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Peter
Pan, snow White, Belle. Where else can you dine in the castle
with Cinderella herself, & be called 'princess'? This
breakfast is very popular, you need to make priority seating 90
days in advance. Others include the breakfast at 1900 Park
Fare at the Grand Floridian, & Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.
Ask to ride up front on the monorail, the view is great!
Be sure to ask when it isn't too busy though, then you've got
a better chance.
Visit Disney's Wedding Pavillion (walk from Grand Floridian
or Polynesian).
You might even see Cinderella's coach & horses!
Have afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian, in the Garden
View Lounge. Choose from a selection of fine teas, tea sandwiches,
delicate pastries, scones, even strawberries & cream & champagne!
On a first-come, first-served basis, hand your name in as soon
as you arrive. Drinks can be served whilst you wait in the
lobby.

Join Alice & the Mad Hatter to listen to stories, decorate their
own cakes, & have lunch. Offered Monday, Wednesday & Friday
from 1:30pm-2:30pm. It can be booked up to 120 days in advance by
calling 407 WDW DINE. Cancellations must be done at least 24hrs
in advance, or there will be a no-show charge of $10. More info

Buy an Epcot
Passport, which is sold at every souvenir cart in Epcot. You
get an "I'm a World Showcase Traveler" button, plus a passport and
a set of stamps for each country. As you visit the countries, there
is a place where a CM will stamp your passport and write something
in his/her native language.
Have a haircut
at the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, Magic Kingdom. Haircuts
cost $15 for adults and $12 for children. It's a great place for
kids to get their first ever haircut!
If you arrive at
the Magic Kingdom before opening, you may be chosen to be the 'Gatekeeper'
and open the park on that day. The chosen child gets to choose a
magic word to open the park, sprinkles pixie dust, and receives
a certificate and candy-filled magic wand as souvenirs.
Go to the Fort
Wilderness campfire/sing-along, nightly at 7pm, behind the Meadow
Trading Post. Chip & Dale make an appearance & walk round
to meet everyone, there's a sing-along, followed by a classic Disney
movie (different each night). Take your own marshmallows &
sticks, or buy them from the chuck wagon there.
A Pirate Cruise for kids (no adults!) from the Grand Floridian
marina, on Bay Lake. The kids are given a pirate's bandana, &
go on a boat, to visit the beaches at the different resorts searching
for treasure (which they get to keep). Goofy & Pluto put in

music fills the air as a color guard marches to Town Square, takes
down the American Flag, & releases a flock of snow-white homing
pigeons.
Cirque du Soleil,
at Downtown Disney Westside.
Cirque du Soleil is a theatrical experience
unlike anything you have experienced before. The concept behind
Cirque du Soleil was conceived by a group of street performers in
Montreal, Quebec, in the early eighties with a desire to inspire,
astound and transport patrons to a new, unearthly world.
Cirque du soleil is not a circus as the name implies. At Cirque
du soleil you will not find any animals - no dancing bears, lions
leaping through hoops or elephants doing tricks. Cirque du Soleil
is a completely immersive theatrical presentation combining elements
of modern dance, staging, humor and acrobatic stunts. Dispersed
throughout the show are acts of hilarity, peculiarity, inspiration,
excitement and amazement. The experience of a Cirque du Soleil show
always ends with the guest wondering how it was possible for time
to move so fast from the intriguing, attention grabbing preshow,
to the final standing ovation. The creativity of this highly sophisticated
show abounds and enthralls. The costumes are wonderfully exotic,
the sets unusual, the action non-stop, and the original music is
capturing to say the least.
Currently, "La Nouba" is the Cirque du soleil production being
showcased at the newly constructed Cirque du Soleil theatre at Downtown
Disney West Side. La Nouba was developed exclusively for Walt Disney
World, and such its underlying theme matches that of WDW. "La Nouba"
is French for fun, to party, and to "live it up".
The big white Cirque du Soleil theatre at Downtown Disney Westside
has room for 1671 patrons.

"Stay at the Magic
Kingdom after it closes....they will let you stay at the shops like
the Emporium which stays open pretty late....at about 1 o'clock
there is a small light show on the castle walls...it's just really
speccial because there is no one else in the park and it makes you
fell like you have your own little show to yourself."
"Must Do Things would have to be the parades and fireworks which
they have at most parks..also a fun thing to do is rent boats at
various resorts. My favorite resturant to eat at is the Whispering
Canyon Cafe in the Wildreness Lodge Resort...they put on a wonderful
show and you can go even if your not staying there. Also you must
get an E-ticket at various times during
the year. Ask the desk at your resort about this ticket because
they don't provide it throughout the year. What it is, is a ticket
that cost an extra 10$ a person that enables you to stay at the
Magic Kingdom after hours, and ride the 9 most popular rides in
the park (Space Mt, Splash Mt., Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, Timekeeper,
Alien Encounter, Country Bear Jamboree, astro orbiter, and Pirates
of the Carribean) If you have this ticket after 4:00 you must trade
in your ticket for a braclet which allows you to stay in after hours,
and beware these bracelts are checked often. So don't cheat :)...this
is a great oportunity because it like a private party in the Magic
Kingdom....ITS A MUST DO"
"Try a Mickey ice cream bar to celebrate a good day.
Ride a boat, especially up front.
Have a Ghirdelli sundae or two.
Watch fireworks somewhere.
Feed the animals at the petting zoo.
Look for the peacocks at Hoop-de-doo area (on the roof in the day,
in the trees at night).
Ride the train around the Magic Kingdom.
The tigers at the Animal Kingdom are restless for food at the end
of the day.
Look at the gorilla looking at you at the Animal Kingdom.
With luck, see a hippo swim by the glass wall in the Animal Kingdom.
Watch the faces of children at Character Greetings."
