"A good way to keep cool is to fill a zip lock bag with ice and
a wash cloth when you leave for the parks in the morning. When
you need it, pull out the wash cloth and do a quick wipe down. It
works great."
"Plan your day and work your plan. My wife is great at this, and
we would always get to see everything we wanted. When we didn't
plan our day, we would waste most of the morning trying to figure
out what to do next. Get there EARLY, as soon as it opens. If you
have small children, don't get caught up on main street at MK,
high tail it to adventureland and fantasyland and get in all the
rides there for the kids. Most people will stop at the first attraction
when they get in the gate, just walk right on past and head for your
favorite section of the park, and then work your way to the front.
I highly recommend checking out the resorts, maybe for lunch or
dinner. When ever possible, eat outside the parks, it is WAY cheaper,
and you can save money to go towards a nice dinner inside the park,
like: Top of the Castle at MK, or "La Cellar" Canada in Epcot"
"The one big tip I didn't see here is that you should change
your shoes in the middle of the day. Even just taking your shoes
off for a few minutes is a nice refresher. Try rolling your bare
feet over a pencil for a few turns. Anything that stimulates the
nerve endings in your tired tootsies will help reinvigorate you
for more adventures.
I wholeheartedly agree with the idea of taking a break in the middle
of the day particularly in the summertime. Frozen water bottles
and the gel neckwraps are great too. I see many guests with a washcloth
(face cloth) that they dampen and use to refresh throughout the
day. Hats and sunscreen are also important.
I do want to add my personal thoughts on the refillable mugs that
are sold in the WDW resort hotels. These mugs would be fabulous
if you spent all your time at one hotel, but you can't get refills
anywhere except the resort pictured on the mug. I see people carrying
around empty mugs in the parks and wonder why they would even bother
if they understood the policy on refills.
Knowledge is power, read all you can before you leave. Chat up
the people you meet along the way too. Cast members always want
to help, but guests are a great resource as well. I've visited
over 100 times and still check out the web before each trip. That's
how I discovered this nice site. It may be designed for the UK,
but this "Yank" is glad she found you!"
"We almost always rent a car for our trips. Since we go to
different parks each day and often leave and come back, it is easy
to get confused about which area the car is parked. We discovered
that almost all cell phones have some sort of voice or memo recorder
built in. We simply turn the recorder on and say the name and row
number we parked in. As we leave, we erase the memo. Now we're ready
for the next park. No more lost cars!"
" *Get into Fantasmic early to get front row seats, but you
may get wet. Ask the front desk at your hotel for times when younger
kids can go to scavenger hunts, parties, etc. For a night alone
drop the kids off at the free baby-sitting club in every hotel (Polynesian
has the best one)"
"If you are on vacation with another family buying cheap 2
way radios at Wallmart allow you to go your own way and keep in
touch for meeting up for meals etc"
John Mitchell - Scotland
"If going to wdw for a special occasion such as honeymoon
or anniversary make sure you mention it when booking as we were
given a lovely photo and frame and 2 crystal glass at chef mickeys
at the contempoary hotel because we had mentioned it was our honeymoon"
kev
"FREEZE WATER the night before. Upon returning from Orlando,
my family and I figured out how much water we drank over a 1 week
period in Disney...60 bottles! We froze several water bottles the
night before, which we had bought from Publix. We carried some around
the parks and left a few in a locker. Can you imagine how much money
we would have spent if we bought the water from the parks?"
"Wear sneakers! As in any disney parks there is alot of walking
to be done. Epsom Salt is also a good thing to bring. After the
walking soak your feet in it for a half hour or so.. It will help
"soothe" the pain and prepare you for the next day's work."
- Ashlee Deer Park, New York
"I have a tip to deal with the end of a park evening when
the bus line is hundreds deep.
Keep the phone number of a taxi service with you in your wallet.
If the lines for buses get ridiculous, then call up a taxi -- best
$10 I ever spent at midnight! "
"Purchase a small thermal bag if you do not have a small bag
in which to carry water bottle. The park security do not mind if
you take water into the park, if you have the facility, freeze it
the night before. Since entering a park in the morning, the park
is (relatively) cool, and you feel fresh, so you do not need water
straight away. As the day wears on, and the sun goes up, and you
get tired, the water melts, and you get a steady rink of cold water
through the day. Also, if you need water quickly, add water from
a fountain. That helps melt the ice, and gives you even more cold,
refreshing, water to drink as the day goes on!"
"Make Sure that you ware a high factor sun cream as it can
be very hot!" Christopher
"My name is Shane and I have some helpful tips.If this your
first time at the Walt Disney World Resort these tips will be very
helpful.
1.Transportation goes to all parks,water parks,Downtown Disney
and resorts and it is FREE!!!!!
2.At all time you should carry your
"Key to the world" id card. You will recive this card at
Check-in at your resort.
3.The two most busiest days at the
Walt Disney World Resort are:New years day and 4th of July.
4.When rideing a Disney bus please read the signs above the seats. If
you are sitting in a seat under a sign that says:this seat is for
the handicaped or elderly please get up and offer it to one of those
two.If the bus is crowded and you have to stand please hold on to
the handrails above you. Please do not stand in the doorways of the
bus.If you have to stand please move all the way to the back of
the bus to make room for the rest of our guests.
5.Cast Members are always happy to answer any questions you may
have about Parks, water parks and Resorts. If you see somebody with
a Disney nametag Just ask!"
" 1. Visit Epcot before any other park. The low-key atmosphere
works far better before visiting all the high-thrill parks. You
will find that by going to Epcot first, you will see more of it.
If it is quiet, as it was when we visited, you may find that you
can hop across to the Magic Kingdom later in the afternoon.
We found that we were able to split the MK into 2 days, by combining
it with trips to Epcot & Animal Kingdom. We had easily covered
three parks in 2 days. I imagine that this is more difficult with
kids (we don't have any) and makes visiting Epcot first a priority.
2. Ice Station Cool at Epcot provides a fantastic venue to rehydrate
for free. Follow the trail through the entrance and into the cavernous
interior. When you emerge, dont stand at the first drinks dispenser,
as there are 2 or 3 more, further across the room, with fewer people.
3. Buy the souvenir plastic cups that give you cheap refills. These
are valid at all Disney parks. You will be surprised at how much
you will drink! Also, the Busch Gardens souvenir cups can be used
at Seaworld - even more value.
4. Dining is expensive during the day, so have a big breakfast.
I strongly recomment "The Pondarosa" which is a chain
of buffet-style restaurants at extremely low pices. Fantastic for
breakfast, with an enormous spread and also reasonable for evenings
too. Look out for the coupons before you visit, to get a discount.
The waitress will give you a new voucher each time you visit.
5. Voucher books are available all over the place and can offer
some excellent meal and shopping discounts. Look out for the booklets
at your hotel, tourist information centres and shopping malls.
6. We found that we had a far better choice of shopping by visiting
the Florida Mall, rather than the Belz outlets. It was a little
further to drive, but far more shops and not as swamped with tourists.
For the ultimate in value for clothing, look out for T.J Maxx or
Marshalls stores.
7. If you have prepaid for your park tickets (package holiday etc),
look out for the correct booth on arrival at each park. The queues
can be a little misleading, but there is always a booth just for
prepaid tickets. It is relatively fast moving, but don't forget
your passport. All parks require this to validate your ticket.
8. Make sure you have some change available for the toll booths
when driving from Orlando International Airport, to the Orlando
resorts. I think it is only a couple of dollars total, between two
tolls (Florida Turnpike)
9. Parking tickets for the parks are valid if you hop off to another
park. Don't pay again!" Russel
"One main tip is to plan your full holiday day-by-day. Try
to interspace busy days with those not quite so hectic. A full day
at EPCOT is a long day, 0900-2200, so follow it with a trip to a
water park or similar. This year we have planned for 10 days of
Disney parks, seven days of Other Parks (Universal, Sea World,Busch,Silver
Springs etc. and some days for shopping and free time. We write
out our itinery and try to keep to it and it works. We have been
to EPCOT on 10 separate days and still not seen it all so plan plan
plan." Paul Boundy (UK)
"I have been to Disney over 100 times, I was an intern in
'04. If you are with kids and you want to meet the characters, go
to Mickey's Toontown Fair in the Magic Kingdom an hour before the
park closes. You can see all of the characters in the County Bounty
and the judges tent in 30 min versus going during the day when it
is very crowded. Toontown is nearly empty during the last hour of
operation. Use the fastpass system that Disney has so cleverly set
up. Hint: use your fastpass all day long, it helps you pace yourself
through the park and gives you a chance to see a lot of overlooked
attractions that most people miss b/c they are waiting in line all
day. Be at Animal Kingdom at opening---Go get a fastpass for the
safari right away, go ride Dinasour w/ no line, on your way back
get a fastpass for rapids, go ride safari then rapids, go see lion
king and your done with all of the long lines without waiting in
one. You can do all four parks in four days pretty simple if you
take advantage of the fastpass."
"The parks get crowded mid day so it is a great idea to go
at park opening or earlier if possible. By staying in a resort,
you can buy a special pass to go stay in magic kingdom past closing
hours. Any chance you have to be in the park while there are less
people will make your experience more enjoyable. You want to be
able to move fast and see everything possible, however, sometimes
you need to relax and take it all in. The best time for relaxation
in the parks is at night, while there are light shows and parades.
This can also be a good time to hit the popular rides while everyone
else is tired and distracted."
"Whenever I stay at Disney I always have a vehicle. When I
drive to the Magic Kingdom and enter the toll booth, I stay to the
right and follow the signs to the Polynesian Resort and avoid the
crowds in the parking lot and park in the resort lot (short distance
from monorail) Next I enter front doors, go to second floor and
ride the Monorail to the MK in style and comfort and air conditioning.
Upon my return after the park begins to close or after the parade
or fireworks, I take the monorail back to the Polynesian Resort.
Instead of leaving the hotel I stay on second floor at the gift
shop area. This gift shop sells bottled beer, wines and other beverages,
including juices and sodas for kids. Usually I sit down and enjoy
a cold one (the cashier has bottle opener if needed) or take the
bottle outside by pool to relax. The bottled beers are less expensive
here than in the restaurants. In the meantime the crowds are rushing
to their cars and leaving park creating major traffic headaches.
Once finished I walk to car with my family and take my time leaving
the area back to my hotel or secondary park." Ken Taylor
" if you are looking for some place to have a quiet drink
@ have a sing a- long then rose @ crown in u.k.is the place.thurs.
fri. sun. visit @sing -along with Pam Brody!!!She is a treasure
and must be seen and heard!!!"
"We, as a family, have been to WDW only twice but have had
a wonderful time on both occasions. We have lots of photographs
and videos to show to relatives and friends.
Our tip is a simple one. Just because you are in WDW, you still
need to look after your belongings, it can be hard for some people
to look after children and camera/video bags at the same time, but
a little situation awareness can bring dividends. Remember, low
life and thieves take holidays as well!"
"When visiting WDW, spend time researching websites, like
this one, to find money saving tips. We found a listing of restaurants
where you could eat under $10 and have sweet treats for just a few
dollars." Barbara/Dallas,Texas
"If the kids are old enough have a day that they can go and
do what they want. The parents can have a romantic day to them selves.
Just make sure that the kids have a cell phone with them or some
type of comunication. Don't let the romance die between you just
because the kids are along.
Kelly Fitchburg, WI"
"Buy a Guidebook! It makes everything seem a lot more exciting...Also,
order a Disney Planning Video, and surf the disney websites."
"When visiting WDW with small children, my suggestion is to
reserve two days for Magic Kingdom. This is the most child friendly
park as well as having more appeal for children. Make certain to
take your children on the Pooh Ride, Peter Pan's Flight, into Ariel's
Grotto and on the Dumbo ride. These really appeal to 7 and under.
If you go in December, be certain to wear clothes that are easily
removed with lighter clothes underneath. Example: Sweats with a
t-shirt and shorts undernearth. It is chilly in the morning, clod
inthe evenings, but the weather is perfect during the day. Sweats
are too hot for the afternoon, but shorts are too cool for the morning
and evening."
"Here are some things to bring or buy BEFORE you go.
*A water bottle fan about $5 at Wal-Mart about $20 at WDW.
*A poncho for everyone in your family, the ponchos in the park aren't
expensive, they might be too big!
*A lanyard for trading pins.
*Water!
*We always stop at Publix on Buena Vista drive before we go to our
resort, and buy water, fruit, juice boxes and anything we've forgotten
like sunscreen, bandaids granola bars etc."
"when you want to go to the magic kingdom and go to tomorrowland
go past the huge crowd go to the entrance near the castle and u
can be one of the first to the lines of your favorite ride."

"Having visited Walt Disney World numerous times since 1976,
we find that two tips are noteworthy: 1) Rent a car at Orlando International
Airport (MCO) and use it instead of Disney ground transportation.
Most folks would disagree, however my wife and I find that we save
an average of one hour per day to put toward enjoy the parks, water
parks or the other attractions. With a rental car, there is no waiting
forever in queue, at park closings or during the frequent summer
rain showers, for the "Disney Bus". Even with gasoline
being so expensive, we feel that our time savings is more valuable
the the costs.
2) Someone posted earlier to pack a collapsible (insulated vinyl)
cooler for your trip stay at the resort. We highly agree...and stop
at a Publix Supermarket on your drive to the resort. Publix pricing
is very reasonable, and they have a great selection of juices, breakfast
foods, coffee (for the coffee maker you can request when staying
at a Disney resort), snacks, and the like. All of the resorts have
an ice machine conveniently located near your room to keep everything
fresh."
"I'm 16, and
been to Disney 4 times. The biggest tips I can give are these: FASTPASS
Winnie the Pooh anytime you want to ride it. Same for Buzz Lightyear.
We ended up standing in line for Pooh for 45 minutes before we finally
gave up and went to go eat lunch. The other tip that's really fun
I can give is this: If you have seen the nighttime parade, go to
Aloha Isle and order a Dole Whip. It's not crowded, and you can
get primo seats on the fake rocks there in front of Aloha Isle."
--Katie, a DisneyWorld fan, from Georgia
"After watching
Illuminations, exit the International Gateway and walk around the
Boardwalk and Beach Club area. Beachs and Cream have gourmet ice
cream at reasonable prices, Boardwalk has a Sweet Shopped with premium
desserts at a lower price that the fancy restuarants.
When all closes at 11pm, you can hope a bus to Downtown Disney,
and then change over to your resort."
"These are
some tips I can think of....for resort guests the parks DO open
on different days 1 hour early, and only certain parts of the park
are open on this occasion...(i.e. Magic Kingdom - Fantasy Land and
Tomorrowland). I was just there 09/2003. They do ask for resort
id but sometimes they don't. You want to get the major rides first
due to long lines later...(i.e. Space Mountain, Buzzlightyear, Winnie
the Pooh, Splash Mountain and Thunder Moutain) so you can leave
by 11 am. and aviod the crowds or you can wait on FAST PASSES.
You will want to catch the ANIMAL KINGDOM early in the a.m so you
can see the animals before it gets too hot.
BRING FROZEN WATER BOTTLES....I can't stress this enough, espcially
if you have kids!
BEFORE YOU HIT THE DISNEY STORES:Disney sends all their off-season
merchandise to a couple off outlets in the area. "Character
Warehouse" located in Mall 2 of the Belz Factory Outlets at
the end of International Drive in Orlando. And another one is "Character
Premier" in the Premium Outlets in Orlando. Both of these stores
sell ONLY official Disney stuff.
ALSO- Florida Residents always keep you eyes and EARS open for Discounted
resorts and passes.
BEST of all Have a Zippity Doohdah TIME!" Sylvia
"We have been
to Disneyworld 5 times, my best advice would be to PLAN ahead. Each
night we would get the map for the next day's planned park (Epcot,
MGM, etc.)Then go over the map and plan a route to take, stopping
at each ride, show, etc that interests you or someone in your family.
This seemed to work MUCH better than just entering the park and
wandering around wondering where to start!!"
"When Eating At The Castle In MK Eat At The Last Dining Seating
For The Night. That Way you can watch the fireworks from inside
the castle!!"
"Make sure when making reservations they know of special things.
It was our 36th ann. and we got a special card delivered to our
door at the hotel from Mickey & Minnie and Champange at dinner compliments
of the mouse."
"As a suprise for family members staying at the Contemp, i
put together a very large box of goodies (cereal, chips, pretzels,
oatmeal, crackers with spreadable cheese, cookies, juice boxes,
fruit cups, plastic cups and bowls, magazines)and mailed it to the
hotel so it would be there when they arrived. They never had to
buy breakfast or snacks.....it cost me about 75 dollars for everything,
but saved them hundreds of dollars!"
"here's a tip on getting autographs from the disney characters
at the magic kingdom, epcot, the mgm studios and the animal kingdom.
make your own disney character autograph books at home. all you
need is several pieces of paper(about 9), and a stapler. all you
basically have to do is fold a sheet of paper in half, and then
cut it at the folded spot. then fold the two cut sheets in half,
and put one inside the other.when you have enough, staple it all
together. that way, you won't have to buy the actual autograph book
at disney world." robert l. croxton, jr. baltimore, md.
"If you are having trouble taking a good picture of cinderella
castle or tree of life (without family members). It's a good idea
to buy postcards instead as they are taken by professionals and
look much better in a photo album!" Hayley
"My Family and I have been to disney world many times. I suggest
that if you do not have a little kid then don't watch the parades
unless it is your first time. Yes the parades are awsome and everything
but you can always get shorter lines for a ride. We always get in
line for splash mountain and other rides during the parades and
sometimes the fireworks. you can still see the fireworks from where
you are and still get all the magic. Also, if you are staying on
the property, get tickets for E ride nights. They best rides are
open after the park closes for a few hours and there are almost
no lines. this is only at magic kingdom and is a little late for
younger children to do but is totally worth it." Kathy
"really wanna play the "Who wants to be a mill.?" write in
your scheldule to arrive to the building 30 min. early and you'll
get to be one of the hot spots!"
"Here are a couple of tips I would give. First of all I am
almost 11 years old and have been to Disney World about 7 times.
If you want to stay on Disney property and don't want to pay too
much, try Disney's All Star Resorts. They start at about $80 a night
from $113 a night, and at Christmas, they're usually $49 a night!
Another tip is don't try to do all of the attractions at one time.
Maybe go to a park at about 11 am and stay till 1 pm. Then take
a swim or a nap in your resort. Then go back to that same park in
the cooler evening and do the other attractions that you missed
and see the parade or fireworks!" Angela
"Last July/August when we went to Florida we found an excellent
spot.At night(8:30ish) Go to the contemporary hotel(by monorail,
car etc etc etc), find the elevator. Go to the 15th floor(top floor).
To the left of the elevator there is a door leading to a balcony(not
a decorative one) on top of the hotel. This one you can see the
night sky with Orlando lit up. Go back inside, cut through the conference
room(if it is open) (if not then squeeze through the bar people),
and go out the other door. Which will lead you to another balcony(again,
not a decoritive one). This one is closer to the sights. You can
see the fireworks, the water show in the lake, and Cinderellas castle.
Be sure not to drop anything."
"make sure you stay to your schedule cause in walt disney
world it is very easy to losen track of time and if you want to
see a show you are gonna have to get there early so you have good
seats."
"I go to disney
about twice a year and i have forever taken food in. I've looked
for signs but never found one. So i always take in my bag, not heavy
either: One large bottled water frozen overnight so always cold
the next day as it melts, sandwichs with no mayo or mustard. any
fast food restaurant allows you to sit and eat your own food, they
can't kick you out. You could buy frys 1.25 if you want something
out. These places also have the large communal condiment tables,
you can then add your mayo, mustard, veggies for free! then just
make a large bag of chex mix with granola or tried fruit, excellent
source of energy all day, easy to tote and snacking cuts down costs
of food, when you buy, your not as hungry. Just a tip i'd thought
I shared. I once did disney for 3 college kids, 5days and no more
than 200$!"
"I've been
to Disney many times. And i found that it helps a lot when u know
what u want to do each day. I'd reccomend that before you leave
for your vacation have a calender on a peace of paper. It saves
a lot of time in the morning that can otherwise be spent doing something
else." Pete
"We like to
take a soft collapsable cooler in our luggage. We make a grocery
stop on the way to our resort, then fill the cooler with ice and
are able to keep the baby's bottles in it." Robyn
"Splash Mountain
Riders- Take note that if you do not want to get wet try and get
a seat in the back 2 rows that get less wet. But the front is the
best ofcourse. Hold on to your belongings on Tower of Terror, sit
on your hats or stuff things into a fanny pack or backpack. You
drop so rapidly any loose items may fly up such as hats etc and
you won't get them back. Finally I went on Tower of Terror during
Easter(Worst Time of the Year) at around 10AM and waited in a moderate
line but was suprisingly fast moving. Don't pay complete attention
to their time meters, the line usually moves faster then indicated."
Chris from Binghamton, New York
"I have been
to WDW no less than 15x and each time it is a new experience. Here
are some things I would reccomend to travlers. Have fun. Dont stress
about cramming every attraction & show in one trip. Unless you are
staying for 2 weeks, it can't be done. The dinner shows and Character
dining experiences are well worth it. It is a relaxing experience
and can be a great place to get a photo with your favorite character.
Make a reservation before you leave to ensure that you will get
in. The dining experiences book quickly.Bring lots of film, there
will be plenty of photo opportunities. See the sights, there are
many wonders of the World to see & do!"
"Just got
back from a week at Disney parks-where do i begin?? We had the best
time! I had a few tips for families going in the near future that
i wanted to share with you. First, go get ponchos at the dollar
store, they are two for a dollar, and you will probably use them
at one time or another, even if it is just to ride a water ride.
Second, Buy your child her/his own disposable camera, this will
get their own version of Disney. USE THE FAST PASSES!!! They worked
out great! We went Jan. 11-18 and had no lines and lots of characters
to see and chat with! If you have a small child write their name
and yours and a cell phone number that they can reach you at if
they get lost in the parks, and put it in their pans pocket. It
will make it much easier for the cast members to contact you in
the parks. Get walkie-talkies, they are a lifesaver. Eat as many
meals outside of the parks as possible, and then you won't feel
guilty about buying a $3.75 pretzel for your child. Don't go to
a food store called "grocery or supermarket", they are expensive,
find a Publix, which is the same as an ACME. Have a great time and
give yourself time to enjoy the whole experiance."
"When we go
(Contemporary) we have a large box delivered the day we arrive...inside:
cereal/cheese/crackers/oatmeal/chips/pretzels/canned fruit/juice
boxes/plastic bowls/spoons/more snacks/detergent/fabric softner.Rather
than lug everything to the airport, simply have it delivered from
home. Its great doing your laundry on property, that way when u get
home you dont have to do it."
"Don't bother
trying to fix your own breakfast in the hotel room. That is not
what vacation is for. Instead, go to Pondersosa on highway 535.
It is only 10 minutes from Disney and for $5.00, you get an all
you can eat breakfast of grits, eggs, pancakes, toast, bacon, cereals,
and fresh fruits. Maybe its just me, but the last thing I want to
do on my vacation is cook or assemble meals for the family."
"If you plan
on sending a postcard from the parks keep in mind that (at least
at MK) they are held up for a week..also print name labels out so
you won't forget anyone-ALWAYS bring extra you may forget someone
also add a decal or clipart to the label,it will make it special."
Anna Elizabeth Alabama
"We went to
Disney World last year and are now planning our return trip! I will
definately remember to take something to sit on (ie towel etc) during
the parades as the ground gets so hot we burnt our butts!"
"Responding
to the Lost and Found tip. Disney's system is magnificent. When
something gets lost on a ride for example (left in the car) the
CM will set it aside in a designated spot (they scan thru each car
after every ride). Several times a day another CM comes by every
attraction to pick these items up, takes them to central lost and
found on Main St where it is tagged, cataloged and entered into
the computer. My daughter left her fanny pack and she had it back
the next afternoon, everything in tact. I have to say, Disney at
a corporate level is an amazing thing to behold."
"Having been
to Orlando many times, one tip I can pass on is. Eat before you
get to the Parks, they are expensive and the quality isnt all that
great. We go to Ponderosa for breakfast where you get a great meal
for $3.99 and for evening we like Goldern Corral or Shoneys. The
one resturant which is ok is the prime time cafe in MGM. hope this
helps."
" highly,
highly reccommend reading "The
Unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World" by Bob Sehilinger. He
updates it every year, nad since it is NOT sponsored by Disney,
will tell you like it is. He provides a variety of touring plans
(1 day, 2 day, with kids, w/o kids etc), which are great. I went
about 8 years ago at spring break time (the WORST time to go), and
by following his plan, I saw everything I wanted to see, plus a
couple of things twice."
"DEFINATELY
stay in one of WDW 3 main resorts ( Movies, Music and Sports) Coronado
Springs and other such resorts are not Disney oriented AT ALL! Although
the Disney resorts can get a little pricey they are definately worth
it! The atmosphere is AWESOME!"
"Disney rules...get
there when the parks opens.Go back to hotel between 1130-1230 for
lunch and a quick swim then go back to the parks while everyone
else is exhausted you are ready to go.Never try to get to everything
it will only make your trip exhausting and not fun. Before you leave
buy the Birnbaum disney guide and pick rides and shows you really
want to see.Must include Fantasmic!!!"
"If you do
not mind being split up some popular rides offer a line of single
riders. It will help if you do not have a fastpass and you want
to get in and out."
"***Ride Warning
Adviseries*** PARENTS LISTEN UP! If the ride warnings specify that
it may be intense for small children take note! You do NOT want
to have your child affraid during an attraction. Some of them require
that the children are seated seperately and NOT with an adult. RIDES
TO TAKE CAUTION WITH SMALL CHILDREN: -Tower of Terror-(heights fast
moving) -Haunted Mansion-(if your child is scared easily then this
is not a ride for them, especially the younger children) -ExtreTERRORestral
Alien Encounter-(Adults and children are seated seperately from
eachother, and are restrained. Loud noises and scarey affects may
get to children)."
"There are
some who feel that you have to plan to which park you should go
to. Our past two times down we have stated on Disney. The best thing
to do is just go to the first bus that comes. That way you have
automatically eliminated one park from you list."
"If you are
going to the Magic Kingdom, and realy want to do Splash Mountain,
or Big Thunder, then go into the park and take a hard right or left
and go up to the train platform, get on the train and ride it to
Frontier land. Then get off and go to which ever one you want. Also
if you want to get to the Haunted Mansion and decide to go down
Main Street U.S.A. then take the second bridge on the left. Not
the one that is marked "Adventure Land". The bridge I'm taking you
too is not marked but it will take you right into Liberty Square.
-Use Disney's Fastpass as often as possible on any of the major
rides. However one rule of thumb, if the ride wait time is us 30
min. or less just wait in the stad by line, because chances are
it really isn't 30 minutes."
"If you are
on a budget but still would like to enjoy the full-service restaurants,
experience then for lunch; the quality is the same at a much reduced
price." Nicole Amaranth
"Hello fellow
Disney fans!! My family just returned from a magical stay at Disney
and I have a few tips for you. 1. If you are a Pepsi product drinker,
you will need to stock up before you go and take it with you. Disney
only sells Coke products which is fine, but I was really going into
withdrawals for a Mtn. Dew. 2. If you are a Skoal dipper or any
other type of smokeless tobacco user, stock up and take it with
you. They DO NOT sell it on Disney properties. 3. They also only
have unsweet tea so......... you know the drill. 4. If it can be
avoided at all costs, do not go the week of Thanksgiving. Busy,
busy, busy. 5. Fantasmic is an absolute must see!!!! Well worth
the wait. 6.Cannot stress enough to take comfortable shoes. I did
and still had swollen and blistered little footsies. I cannot wait
to go back!!!!" The Tipton's from Alabama
"If you turn
up at parks with a bag of loose change to park your car $6, nine
times out of ten you'll get complimentary parking as the cast member
has to count the change, and they hate holding up lines!" john

"Buy a PONCHO
- it rained every day we were there. Use the fastpass for Space
Mountain and other big rides - it's the only way we did EVERYTHING
in each park!" Mary
"While visiting
the Magic Kingdom last week, my husband's video camera bag and battery
charger were stolen. Two days later, I left my camera, bag with cash
in it, and sun- glasses in a restroom at MGM. It was never turned
in to Lost and Found,so we are out of our pictures of our kids'
pics with characters, which is very heart-breaking. The camera was
8 years old,so I'm sure whomever took it, couldn't get much for
it. Our vacation was ruined, because we took bags into Disney World.
My best advice is put everything in a fanny pack,so you won't set
something down to get stolen. I was wearing a fanny pack but had
food in it instead of my camera. Big mistake."
"At Walmart
(in the US) we bought neck wraps that you soak in water for about
a half an hour. The gel inside absorbs the water and stays wet for
the whole day. You tie it around your neck and it keeps you cool
(like a wet cloth would)." John
"Staying in
All Stars we bought milk etc from the resort shop (cheaper than
the food court) every night filled the sink with the ice from the
ice machines and used this to keep cold to use the next morning
for breky, it saved time when u got up a little late, especially
if you got cerial and bowls as well." Lin
"If you are visiting
the MK in the heat of summer, be sure to stop by this drink stand
in Adventureland and pick up a Dole Pineapple Whip. The stand (I
can't remember the name of it) is located across from the Swiss
Family Tree House and a Pineapple Whip is a wonderful sort of ice
cream that will be sure to cool you down, along with giving you
the best taste your tongue has had in a long time. The reward of
a Whip can be yours...if you can indure standing in the line baking
in the s u n to get one! But trust me, this yummy treat is well
worth it!!" Suzie
"I just returned
from Orlando and have a couple of tips for you. First, Universal
is featuring a "corporate annual pass" with "free" parking for $99.00
for all ages. If you plan togo often it's a good deal, but beware
on your first visit you have to pay a $8.00 parking fee to enter
the park to get a photo ticket. We were told that if we returned
on the last usable day we would be refunded our $8.00. Sounds a
little fishy to me. Certainly a bad start for a ticket with "free"
parking. Then there's the fact that Universal's parking is two dollars
higher than D i sney's. We'll stick with Disney all the way next
time. Also, a nice hotel is Country Inns and Suites at Lake Buena
Vista. I got a deal for $50.00 night through Expedia. Free breakfast
buffet, frig. and micr. in room plus more. Many restaurants nearby
with discount coupons at check-in. And best of all it's very close
to Disney, 1/2 mile from the gates on Apopka Vineland Rd."
