"Two years ago, I finally stayed at the Poly after having
become entranced upon having visited it as a child years earlier.
What a wonderful experience! One of my best friends and I went during
the week just past Thanksgiving, and stayed in a room overlooking
what might as well have been our own private white sand beach, since
no one else was ever, literally, on it. The resort's location was
ideal and convenient, and we started each and every morning with
an order of the specialty of the house, Tonga Toast (an indescribably
delicious treat!). This year, I'll be trying a new hotel (The Wilderness
Lodge), and am very excited, but I'll never forget my perfect week
at the Poly."
"The Polynesian
cost us $300 per night, but it was worth every penny. I will never
stay outside of the resort area again. The room was huge with 2
queen size beds. We stayed in the Tokelau longhouse which was right
near the smaller pool and very close to both the Great Ceremonial
House, as well as the TCC. The monorail was right there on the 2nd
floor to take us to the Magic Kingdom. The surroundings were clean
& lush & we felt like we were in Hawaii. They also have tiki torches
which are lit along the pathways at night and there is soft Hawaiin
music played from speakers hidden in the bushes. It was a very romantic
place to stay. Another plus is that the Polynesian is directly across
the lagoon from Cinderella's Castle. We had a gorgeous view of the
castle at night ( & day) and the best part was watching the fireworks
over the castle at night (in a hammock) on the beach with absolutely
no crowds. The service at the Polynesian is terrific. We visited
the Grand Floridian which is also gorgeous, but we still preferred
the Polynesian - it had more of a Disney theme. The character breakfast
at O'Hana's cost us $15 each & they brought us so much food. It
was worth it. Minnie, Goofy & Chip & Dale visited us throughout
breakfast. We didn't even make reservations & got right in, but
then again, it was 10:30 a.m."
"The Poly
RULES!!!!! If his place cant bring out the romantic in you check
your pulse , you may need a priest!"
"My now husband
and I stayed twice at the Polynesian, once in '97 to celebrate my
graduation from college, and again in '98 because we loved it so
much. The Poly is such a magical, relaxing place. The tiki torches
and music gave the place such a tranquil feeling. Even now when
life gets stressful, I remember the ease and beauty of life at the
Poly and my stress melts away. My husband and I were planning to
spend our honeymoon at the Poly, but as that didn't work out we
are going to spend our second honeymoon for our second year of marriage
in 2001. I can't wait! I would highly recommend the beautiful Poly
to anyone planning a vacation to WDW." mzadra@aeoa.org
"My family
and I have stayed at the POLY. It was wonderful!! Service was great.
Sam our CM at the time asked how old our daughter was. When we told
him she had a birthday very soon, later that day we had cake, balloons
and party favors and a card waiting for her in our room. What a
nice surprise. We loved having the monorail so close. We are going
in Dec and staying at the WL. We loved the looks of it the last
time we were there. Hoping to stay at the Boardwalk in the future."
"Our family
of 5 stayed at the Polynesian Resort for 5 nights in 1996. We had
a wonderful time - and the resort was one of the major reasons why
our vacation was so much fun! It's location is great - you can go
just about anywhere in minutes. And the Polynesian's atmosphere
is so relaxing and enjoyable! Our 3 boys thought it was great that
we could get on the monorail right from the hotel and just go. I
would tell anyone with older children to stay there - they would
be able to come and go via monorail without you each and every time.
The Polynesian Luau is great - and we all enjoyed the food at the
resort! Our room had plenty of space for the 5 of us. This next
January (2001) 10 family members will be going to Disney - this
time we are staying at Dixie Landings - for the moderate price -
my family suggested staying at the Polynesian - they liked it that
much. But we are anxious to try a new resort and enjoy yet another
fun time at Disney!" Luvsun31@AOL.com
"We stayed
in the concierge rooms and everyone there couldn't have been nicer.
Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I didn"t want to leave
them!!"
"I'm now 20 but
when I was 14,15,16yrs old we stayed at the Polynesian. Having stayed
in a lot of hotels around the world it's the one hotel that remains
in my mind. It was brillant and I would go back there any day respite
being a lot older now!" L.Moran@gcal.ac.uk
"The Polynesian's major asset is location, location, location.
The rooms are a little dark and musty, even though it has been updated
recently. You can't beat the closeness to the MK via monorail or
boat. And the monorail to Epcot is just a short walk away. You can
even watch the MK's fireworks from the beach there. The view is
better than from some places in the park."
"I also fell in
love with this resort as I did with many of your other resorts.
I went to Hawaii and this resort took me right back. I am planning
to come and stay there next year."
"We always stay at the Polynesian, not only because it is a great
full-service resort, but from the Polynesian, you not only have
access to the monorail system, watercraft, etc. but you can WALK
to the TTC - saving tons of time getting anywhere! "
"We thought the
Poly was nice...having the monorail service was great. But I have
to say, for a deluxe hotel, there was garbage around the grounds
that was not picked up, and Captain Cooks was always a mess. For
the money, I think they should keep this resort immaculate."
