"Disney Institute was a great place to stay, although not our first preference. Due to the last minute booking I made (three weeks in advance) we were "forced" to take the Institute. I don't know what I was expecting, but boy I was surprised. Very clean, very quiet and very spread out. We rented a golf cart for the entire stay. A must when travelling with kids. Although, I don't know who got a kick out of it more, my husband or our three year old. The staff at the front desk was very accomodating. We arrived at the resort by 10:00 in the morning. Well, check in is usually 3:00, but the staff was very sympathetic to our situation (we began our trek at 4:00 that morning--a 6:00 flight out of New York City)and got us into our room by 2:00. We had a bungalow facing Buena Vista Drive, Room # 750. The bus stop was right around the corner from the room, which was great. For meals, we either hit the parks or Downtown Disney. Housekeeping was great-more towels, please. T hey delivered. Our coffee pot shorted out the second we were there. We called the front desk to report this and within minutes, housekeeping was there to check out the problem and give us a new one. Anyone looking for a quiet place to stay, close to a golf course or PLENTY of shopping-- THIS IS IT!! It's also great for those looking for more than the typical DISNEY experiences." "The Fairway Villas at the Disney Institue were wonderful, much more than we expected. My family consisted of my husband, myself, our two elementary school age daughters, my in-laws & my parents. We all were comfortable with the arrangements and had plenty of room. Having the washer/dryer right outside our rooms were a great asset. The grounds were beautiful! The walk to the bus stop/pool were quick. The only thing this resort lacked was reasonably priced foods, plus meals that the kids were like to eat. But the easy walk to Downtown Disney made up for the lack of a food court. We had a great time, and would visit again. The rooms were clean, the service was friendly & fast.I booked our rooms on-line. No problems!
There could be more dining choices for families, but the Downtown Disney area is a walk away.
A beautiful relaxing trip!" (1997) m.a.h.
