"Recently we took the fabulous 7-day excursion on the Disney
Cruise Line (Magic). After which we stayed at the Coronado Springs
resort for another week. Every year we stay at Disney and choose
a different resort. We have always enjoyed ourselves and never had
any major complaints. Well now I find that for once I was extremely
disappointed in one of the Disney resorts. It was the worst resort
I have ever stayed in. From the very first when we went to the check-in
desk, we had nothing but problems.
1) They mixed up our reservation with my stepdaughters, we had paid
in full and my stepdaughter was to pay when she arrived with her
friend separately. Well my stepdaughter checked in as paid in full
and we were told we owed money. This took about 1/2 hour to correct.
2) We were guaranteed adjoining rooms for my stepdaughter to be
close to us and we had to switch the next day with a couple whom
was to only stay one night.
3) My toddler had wet the bed one night and I had called housekeeping
to request a bed cover to protect the bed just in case he had any
more in the future. I told them he had one that night. They came
to clean the room while we were out; they made the beds and put
the cover on under the sheets. At night when I put my son to bed
he stated that the sheets smelled. I looked at them closely and
realized that although they made the bed they used the same sheets
my son had the accident in. I had to have housekeeping come that
night to change the sheets and they said that they usually don't
change them until a guest checks out.
4) To do laundry you have to drive over to the front desk for change
and cannot always guarantee they will have it for you.
5) There were ant's found in the Tub and toilet area.
6) A phone bill for my stepdaughter that was paid at the front desk
at check out is still being billed to the couple that originally
stayed in that room. And we found charges that didn't belong when
we were checking out and had to spend almost an hour before they
supposedly corrected the bill. So of the complaints we addressed
with the staff. Others we choose not to address at that time with
the staff as to not ruin a the rest of our vacation.
Average to Poor We found the dining at the Boma (Animal Kingdom
Lodge) to be fabulous *****
The Gym facility was the only plus the resort had to offer."

"We stayed
at the Cornado Springs resort and it was great! We made it routine
that after every day in the parks, we'd go to the theme pool for
a swim or to get in the hot tub. It was great! (I'm 13) My mom refused
to go to the pools so her feet were hurting by the second day there.
The other three of us were perfectly fine and won't go to any hotel
that doesn't have a hot tub. We had only two bad experiences. One
was when we got four bannas at the food store, they were as hard
as rocks and made us sick and the other was on our way out, one
of the room service attendents thought my older sister and her boyfriend
were newlyweds and tried to give us illegal spanish wine. Quite
an experience but a highly recomended resort! We're going to try
Carribean Beach next!" Denise (2/01)

"Coronado
Springs is nice, beautiful property, super clean, etc. BUT for a
hotel this size it definitely needs more selection in its food service."
"We stayed
at the Coronado Springs in August 2000. There were 8 of us... and
we are all Disney veterans. Despite hearing about the long walks
and small rooms we found that the walks were pleasant and the rooms
were more than adequate in size. The Pepper Market food court is
nice, but expensive for just a snack. They charge you a tip no matter
what you buy. Overall though, it was a very enjoyable trip and a
nice place to stay... especially for the price."
"I loved every inch of the Coronado Springs Resort. Plan on
staying there with my fiancee when we return. The perfect place
for couples with or without children!" 8/00
"I just returned
from Disney World a few days ago. We stayed at Coronado Springs
Resort. It was very nice and relaxing. The pool is wonderful!!The
bike riding trails are very fun, and cheap at the same time. The
food is wonderful. We loved the pepper market!! It had a variety
of many different foods for the whole entire family, plus it was
fast. The lake was very pretty, especially at night. My mother who
is a native a Mexico, said taht it reminded her of her home. The
service was great. I will definetely go there again."Katherine
"I stayed
in Coronado Springs for my honeymoon. A little off the beaten romantic-track,
I'll admit, but we stayed in the Ranchos, and had a wonderful time!
We were far away from the hustle & bustle, but the bike paths were
wonderful! The staff was friendly, the Pepper Market was a delight,
and our room was very cozy! The Dig site was pretty neat and my
husband & I loved the pyramid located there. We are traveling to
WDW next year (2001) with the whole family (16 of us) and we feel
that the rest of the family should give Coronado Springs the attention
it deserves!" Regina
"Have been
to WDW several times but always stayed off property. Last March
12 from my family traveled to WDW and stayed at Coronado and had
a fabulous time. Sur it's a little more walking then some of the
other resorts but it was well worth it. The kids in our party loved
the huge theme pool and even enjoyed the quiet pools. And that xtra
walking to the food courts, etc. means you get xtra quiet when you're
in your room. Fabulous staff, rooms are plenty big food was great
and transportation was great. Loved it so much I am taking my four-year
old and and his big brother and his wife in June. We were going
to stay at one of the other resorts but I had such good things to
say about the Coronado they chose to stay there, which is fine by
me. Had breakfast at the Wilderness Lodge one morning-was okay but
not the greatest. Liked the choices at the food court at the Coronado
better and the full service restaurant is out of this world."

"My daughter
and I stayed at Coronado Springs Labor Day weekend and for 6 nights
in Dec. (all 1999). We loved our cabana (8b room 8608). It was a
quiet, corner room overlooking the beach area, and was very convenient
to bus stop #3, and El Centro. The Christmas decorations were beautiful,
and we were thrilled when Mickey & Minnie visited the lobby for
pictures one evening. My daughter loved the pool, and I loved the
music at the pool. The only drawback was our Rancho in Dec. The
water view was obscured and we were near the elevator- horribly
noisy." twood@weatherford.isd.tenet.edu
"The Coronado
Springs Resort was very fun and exciting with one exception-its
service. We went last summer and when I got there i was so amazed
at the looks of the resort. Our plane got in around 3pm or so which
is when check in is so we got there about 4pm. We figured we could
get right into our rooms. Wrong. We had to wait outside until about
5:15pm for our room!!!!! They didn't even offer to hold our bags
while we went somewhere else. So in other words, our vacation didn't
get off to a great start. Don't get me wrong, the resort was amazing,
but the service was just, well, a little no REALLY SLOW and dissapointing."
"We stayed
in the Coronado in April, 99. We loved the resort, but it is important
to remember that it is themed around the American southwest, so
there are very few trees for shade. The resort is gorgeous, especially
at night. The Pepper Market has some of the best fast food around,
we found that if you get your meals "to go", you don't pay the 10%
gratituity, and you can enjoy your meal outside while also enjoying
a view of the lake. One of the cast members was especially helpful
to us and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that
our stay was "magical". If you stay at the Coronado and happen to
meet Jenny Sheck, please tell her that the Morrison family will
always remember her kindness and generosity. As for transportation,
while we were there, there was a new direct bus route to the Boardwalk."
"I loved CS.
It is my favourite of the moderates. I didn't find the resort too
be THAT big. I stayed in the Casita section so I wasn't at all too
far from the food court. Even if you are in the most remote spot,
the furthest walking time will be 5min. The food court had amazing
food! I will probably visit it again even if I am not staying at
the resort. The atmosphere is beautiful. It is a moderate resort
that feels like a deluxe. An A++ hotel in my opinion!" Dana
"Imagine sitting
in a hammock strung between two palm trees looking out over the
lake in the evening. A bridge runs between the main area and the
pool area. Strung across the bridge are lights that twinkle off
the water. You can barely hear laughter from the "dig site" pool
area. This place was a dream. Large enough to be magical, but small
enough to be cozy. The room was fine, no complaints , it IS a hotel.
Food was good Disney Style but its the atmosphere that will bring
my family back again and again."
"My girlfriend
and I stayed at the Coronado Springs resort during spring break
of '99. We loved it. We did not think it was to big. The food was
good, and the walk to the bus stop is not bad you are in Disney
World for pete's sake, walking should be expected. The best part
is the huge lake and pyramid. We had a top story room, and the view
out over the lake was gorgeous, specially during the morning hours.
We wouldn't hesitate going back to the Coronado, except that we
want to experience the other resorts as well. A great place to stay
and a good price."
"I stayed at Coronado
Springs for one week in November 1998. The sheets and quilt were
filthy. Repeated calls to Housekeeping yielded nothing. The front
desk answers housekeeping calls in the evenings, when you return
from the Parks, and they were rude and unhelpful. Hung up on me...very
unDisney. Apparently there is one person assigned to cover all housekeeing
requests in the evening. Clearly, this is not enough. A talk with
the manager brought assurances that the problem would be resolved.
It wasn't. I slept in my clothes the whole vacation with a towel
(which at least was clean) over the pillow case. A less serious
problem is the distance from many of the rooms to the front desk.
The Pepper Market was confusing and pricing was not clear. This
cafeteria style restaraunt has a manadatory gratuity!"
"Overall this is
a VERY good resort but it does have a few flaws. First it is overly
large. Make sure you are near the Pepper market (best) or at least
near a bus stop. The hotel is a Xerox of Caribbean Beach but about
2/3 the size. The other thing which was silly, not so much annoying.
Everything has really cheesy sounding (probably fake) spanish names.
The main building is "El Centro" and each little gheto has a name
like "Ranchos". But, again, overall a very good resort."
"Stayed at Coronado
Springs in June and loved the place. Request a room near either
the Pepper Market or any bus stop. This place is HUGE. The Maya
Grill is very good. The majority of the staff are very friendly
and helpful. This was first time at Disney and plan to go back in
April of 2000 but plan to stay at Dixie Landing."
"If you stay at
Cornado Springs, when making the reservation you should request
a room close to the resturants/lobby. I stayed there and was the
last section on their property." Dan.
"We stayed at the
Cornado Springs Resort for the Landstar Convention. The food was
excellent, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was even
better-- Before we left we had already planned our next family vacation
with our stay at Coronada Springs resort!"
