Disney's Coronado Springs Resort Reviews

Post Reviews and Ratings

" I stayed at the Coronado Spring Resort twice last year with my husband and had such a great time, I'm returning again this year with some more family. The resort rooms were clean and spacious. The staff at this resort were pleasant and helpful. The resort itself is really beautiful and scenic. The food at the Pepper Market is awesome, one of the reasons we're returning. Trying the chicken enchiladas is a must!!! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to have a great trip at WDW." Kimberly Sarwan-Vega." (8/03)

"My fiance and I arrived back from Coronado about two weeks ago from Coronado Springs. We stayed for four nights anf five days and we both loved it. When we had made reservations for our room, we asked for the Cabana section, which we were given Ranchos instead. At first we were upset, but we discovered that the Ranchos was a lot quieter and more romantic. The room was what I expected. A bathroom with a television and a bed. Since we would be in the parks most of the time, this didn't bother us. Overall, the coolest part of the room was the shower. The shower was a lot bigger than I had expected it to be. It was well worth it. To be honest, we weren't impressed at all with the food. My fiance and I ate at Pepper Market one night and had ordered pasta. The pasta was kind of cold and wasn't too good. Also, adding 10% gratuity to the bill seemed kind of pointless since all the waiter/waitress did was get sodas which were only about 50 feet away from us. We did eat at at Maya Grill for breakfast one morning in which the food was good. Also, the service was very friendly. OUr favorite place for eating was at the little convenience store located in the main building. There were snacks and drinks that would last us each day. Overall, the mood of the hotel was very romantic: esecially at night. We would sit on the hammocks and look across the lagoon and see the lights of el central. The sight was breathtaking and was also where my boyfriend propsed to me. The walk from our room to the main building was 10 minutes but never minded at night because we would love to walk to see the beauty of the lights." (6/03) Janelle T.

"The room was very clean and well maintained. We had requested adjoining rooms with a lake view, which was granted. We stayed in Casita 3. Lots of walking, but the weather was beautiful, so the added strolls were a bonus. Very family friendly resort. Pepper Market was a neat atmosphere. Most of the meals we had there were of good quality. Service was usually pretty good. It was nice to have someplace to come back too instead of always grabbing something in the park. This resort is beautiful enough to just vacation there, without the parks. Would gladly pick to stay there again. Never waited long for any of the park buses. Occasionally had to wait for a Downtown Disney bus. It was a wonderful vacation!" (2/03) Staci

"The Coronado Springs was a very nice hotel. It was kind of big for my liking but had a great bar and food court. We found the quietness of our room great. My husband and I were on our honeymoon. I would have liked a room closer to the front of the resort. My husband and I had a little trouble navigating the resort. We got turned around several times in the building that we were in. The dining was great. Both the food court and the Mesa Grill were excellent. Good resort. Excellent price. Kind of big." Amy Rients

"The room was always clean, in a good location (cabana 8b) very close to the big pool area and only steps away from bus stop #4. Very quiet very few children there. The scenery was incredible- you could really believe you were in old Mexico. The buildings and grounds were very well maintained and the cast members were very nice. Overall, the prices were grossly inflated for what you got. we only ate breakfast one morning at the pepper market-this was the best meal overall that we ate at the resort. the meals at the pepper market were good overall but way to expensive and the 10% gratuity that was added onto our bill was way too much for the service we received. Great resort but will probably eat elsewhere next trip!" (6/02) Russell Downen

"We stayed in Ranchos 7B. It was very close to bus stop 4 and the main pool. The room was clean and the staff extremely helpful. They set up our animals on the beds. When my son lost his signed autograph book, the staff went out of their way to help retrieve it. The shuttles came by about every 10 minutes. The shuttles stop at bus stop 2,3,4, and then 1 at the main desk. We loved it here. The Pepper Market food was really good. There was a wide variety at a reasonable price. It's cheaper to buy power aid drinks and juice in the gifts and sundry shop than at the parks. Loved it! Whatever you need, just ask for it!!!" (4/02) nicole

"I just returned from my 9 day stay at the hotel and I just wanted to tell you how impressed I was. The hotel is very beautiful!!! Here is a list of all the positive things that I HAVE to mention about the hotel: 1. The landscaping was the best part of the hotel. 2. I like the idea of having a couple of quiet pools where the adults can sit, relax and maybe nap in addition to the one big pool for everyone to enjoy. 3. The service (from desk clerk to wait staff) was spectacular. 4. We were also very impressed that every Disney theme park bus stopped at our hotel. It was very convenient for us! We visited a couple of other hotels, while taking a break from the parks, and we had a hard time getting back to our hotel. 5. The food was delicious. Here are the negative things that I have to say: 1. The rooms were very small and out dated. 2. The bathroom fan in our room was very loud. 3. The restaurants need more of a variety of food selections. By the second day, we were getting bored. The hotel needs more restaurants for its size. 4. The jeeps driving around the grounds need to slow down since they share the same walkway as the guests. 5. At the quiet pools, you should have a little kiosk for people who need water without having to walk a long distance to the Pepper Market or the Big Pool. If I had to rate this hotel where 10 would be outstanding and 1 would be the worst, I'd give it an 8. I would definitely recommend this place to other people and I will definitely stay there again." "My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised by this resort. We stayed in Ranchos Bldg 6A and had a corner room on the third floor just across from the elevators. The location was fantastic! We were just a short walk from the parking lot (we had a rental car), and a bus stop was close by, as well. The Dig Site was about a 5 minute walk, and incredibly themed! The entire resort was really quite beautiful, and we highly recommend it! Dining at the resort was nice. The food in the Pepper Market was typical food court food... fair to good. THe Maya Grill was a very nice restaurant for a sit down dinner. The service was a little slow, but nothing intolerable. All in all, just what you'd expect from one of Disney's moderate resorts." "I was thouroughly impressed with the Coronado. Our room was located between the main pool and the bus stop. (When I made reservations I requested this). The scenery was beautiful and the pool area was fantastic. Our room was very nice, about what I expected. The resort was much larger more luxurious than I had expected. When I was still going to WDW with my parents, we always stayed at the Polynesian Village. Since I was paying this time, we chose a moderately priced resort and I was ready to sacrifice a little. I have to say it was just as nice as the Polynesian Village for half the price! Even if I could, I don't think I would pay for a deluxe resort in the future. My family and I were extremely happy with our stay at the Coronado Springs. Dining at the resort was a little pricier than I expected. I was under the impression that they had a traditional food court which to me meant low prices. The Pepper Market was very delicious and convenient but since everything (including bread and butter which I thought was outrageous)was a la carte, that equaled a very large bill! We were better off going to a regular full-service or buffet restaurant where we got more food for about the same amount of money. I was very impressed with the resort overall. The service was outstanding. The gift shop, lobby, and grounds were beautiful. The pool was fantastic and so was the bus service. I do think that they need a lower cost food establishment since it is, after all, a moderate resort for people who are trying to save a little $$." (5/01) Mary Ann Gómez

"Excellent place to stay with children. We stayed in the Cabanas 8B. This location was very close to the outstanding pool, food court, and bus stops. The bus service was very good. The main lobby childrens area (TV and coloring table) kept the children entertained while we reviewed broucheres, front desk business, etc.. The pool and water slide was great, the children really loved the waterslide. The food court was outstanding and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend the Coronado Springs." (12/01) Lisa Noble

"I suppose that the build up for this was too great. Although the resort was clean new and like all resorts, all around beautiul, it still requires a huge walk to dinner and the main buildings if you are not fortunate to be in the cabana sections.A pool view is a long walk. I would categorize it as a typical moderate resort. Layout is basically the same as carrib beach, dixie landings etc. However, the concept of the Pepper Market to dine is great. Eight kitchens to chose from and a great bar. good service. The Maya although overpriced served great food for those who want something private wothout the kids. The sunday brunch was nothing special. I will from now on after visiting all the moderate resorts, spend the extra few bucks for the convenience of the deluxe resorts." (3/02) ken and stephanie

"Water view does not necessarily mean the main lagoon area, anywhere you can kinda see any water, is a water view $. Outside of this little unknown fact I really enjoyed the resort, the pool area and the holiday theming was wounderful. The parks and off peak timing made this a terrific time to go for crowds and value." (12/01)

"I stayed for 4 nights last December. After moving from the All-stars resort, it was heaven. The room was a little hard to get to (not a deluxe- where you have an inside elevator and hallway), but very clean and pretty. We were located behind the main pool. My daughter did not want to go to the parks because she loved the pool so much. We were too busy to make the long walk to the lobby, but we had a car and easy access to the bus stop. The service was excellent!
The food was great, especially the chicken with coleslaw and potato salad we got from room service. We loved it. I wanted to visit again, but my daughter wanted to try a new one. So far we have stayed at the polonesian, all-stars, and coronado resorts. We will visit the dolphin and animal kingdom lodge next week!" (12/00) Carolyn
