"We came back
last week from our 1st Disney trip, (husband, me and 9yr old), we
had a fantastic time. We didn't think it could live up to our expectations,
but it surpassed them! We stayed at the Movies, and apart from the
standard of the Food Halls cooked food we couldn't fault anything.
Luckily for us it was very quiet so we didn't have any waiting,
even for the popular rides. I can't beleive that everyone can be
so helpful, everyone really does try to make your holiday the best.
Some people have said that the rooms are small, but we were usually
too tired to notice! Now we're home we're depressed, and hoping
that we can afford to go again one day. Everyone at Disney- Enjoy
it before its time to go home!" (11/01) Robin
"Well the
hotel overall was excellent value for money, My family stayed in
the 'mighty ducks' section of the hotel. We found if you are staying
at the mighty ducks part a good tip is when you are returning from
the disney parks on the provided coach, dont get off at the movies
stop, but a shorter distance to walk to the mighty ducks stay would
be 2 get off at the Music resort stop and cut through! The kids
were easilly entertained back at Movies, where they could sit and
watch Disney classic's such as 101 dalmations in the Lobby! Its
A fab choice if you have smaller or older children to take!! advised
by US!!!" (8/01) Kimberley Jacobs, East London
"Accomodation:
Our first trip to WDW and it was great...Two adults and a 9 year
old. The room was small but since all we did was sleep and shower,
we did not need much more room. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Transportation to and from thetheme parks was very efficient. We
never waited more than 15 min. for a bus except at night when we
were headed back to the hotel. What else can I say except we are
planning another trip in May 2002 and will stay there again because
we really enjoyed our stay and we have already recommended the all
star resorts to others. In fact, the ASR were recommended to us...It
was a good choice, especially on our first visit. We stayed in building
8, Fantasia, and had a first floor room. would like the same next
time.
Dining: prices are high, and sometimes seem just a bit too much.
It makes it a bit difficult for those of us on limited budgets,
but cosidering where we are talking about, I guess it isn't too
far out of line...could be worse
Overall: The place is a great family vacation! Overall I would say
it was worth the money. Enough of a vacation to make us want to
go back in May of 2002! Looking forward to being there again."

"We had faxed
a request for Dalmations building because of the 3 year old in our
party. When we got there, they had us in the Love Bug building.
We asked to be moved but they had some kind of large party in the
Dalmations buildings. We asked to be moved if something became available.
One member of our party is a travel agent, who made all of the arrangements.
She made sure to tell them this. We couldn't get into our rooms
until later in the day. We found when we got back, we had been moved
into rooms in the Perdita building in Dalmations. We were elated!!!
It really made the trip special. The 3 year old loved the icons
in the courtyard areas. I have to believe that we were moved because
my friend informed them that she is a travel agent. I'll never really
know, but I believe it is true. Anyway, the room was very close
to the food court, the main pool, and the buses. It was clean and
well kept. It was everything I expect a Disney Resort to be. We
ate in the food court almost every night we were there. We found
that there was a good variety, and the food was tasty and priced
much more to our liking than in the parks. We took advantage of
the refill cup. It is well worth it's price in the long run if you
are going to be there more than 1 or 2 days. Plus, you can bring
it back with you if you are going to come back on another trip at
a later time. We ate mostly earlier (mornings) and later (evenings)
than most people and found that there was always plenty of places
to sit and plenty of fresh food still available. I liked this resort
very much. We stayed in All Stars Music a few years ago, and I wasn't
impressed. It was pretty run-down. On the other hand, All Star Movies
was fresh and clean, and well kept. I've heard others say the noise
level is high, but I didn't find it to be that at all. I recommend
this Resort for anyone who wants to stay "in the magic" on a tighter
budget." (Nov 2000) Gay
"My family
and I have stayed at All Star Movies two years in a row and loved
it! I am a single man traveling with his senior citizen parents
and believe me, you don't need to have children to appreciate this
place. The convenience of being on Disney property is wonderful
- we'll never stay offsite again. The food court offered something
for everyone at reasonable prices (by resort standards). The food
was alway fresh and delicious. The Disney atmosphere was a delight
and the pools are wonderful. Bus transportation was more than adequate
and frequently excellent. The gift shop is amazing, by the way -
they seem to have everything. It's true, the rooms are not very
large, but how much time do you actually spend there? In our case,
not much. You could spring for fancier accomodations, but in my
opinion, its not really worth it. I heartily recommend the All Star
Movies resort. Its a fun place and we look forward to staying there
again." (2/01)
"WE HAVE STAYED
AT THE ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT FOR A TOTAL OF THREE WEEKS SINCE SEPTEMBER
OF 1999, AND LOVED IT. WE HAVE TWO BOYS WHO ARE NOW 2 AND 4 YEARS
OLD. THEY LOVED THE WHOLE RESORT AND WE WILL DEFINATELY STAY HERE
AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. ON ONE OCCASION, WE LOST A BRIEFCASE WITH A
LARGE SUM OF MONEY IN IT AND A DISNEY CAST MEMBER FOUND IT AND REFUSED
TO ACCEPT A REWARD FOR RETURNING IT. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT."

"The accommodation
was spotlessly clean, we had everything we needed. The kids loved
the themed hotels it really made you feel like you were in Disney.
It would have been nice to have a little more cupboard space to
put all our clothes away, but we managed ok. It would also have
been nice to have been given the option of having one double bed
and two singles or bunks as the two children with us were 11 and
12 years old one girl and one boy and theyre not brother and sister,
but we were all in the holiday spirit and we managed ok.It was nice
having satellite TV in the room because most evenings we were too
tired to go out.
The food offered in the cinema hall in the resort itself was a little
limited in choice for my taste. I dont think they cater for people
who are staying for any length of time." 25/01/2001-8/02/2001,

"We have been
to Disneyworld in 1998 and 1999. Both times we stayed at All Star
Movies and were not disappointed. This hotel packs a big punch for
the relatively small price. The rooms are fairly small, but are
decorated nicely and will especially appeal to young children. The
food courts are great for young kids because they offer a good selection
of food kids like(pizza, burgers, fries, ect). The pools are quite
nice and include a wading pool for tots, although, it is pretty
small. We are going back to Disney again this year and plan to stay
at Movies." PKASMITH@YAHOO.COM (2/01)
"what can
we say about our stay at the allstar resort.we had our holiday in
september2000.In short it was the best holiday we have ever had
our room was great service exellent food hall was superb. Our two
children enjoyed every moment. This was our second holiday in your
resort.and we will be returning sometime in 2002" mr and

"Very friendly
service. Cast members made us feel right at home. All Star Movies
is a great vaule family resort."
"We
just spent a week at ASMovies. The room was what we expected after
reading the newsgroups. It was adequate for the two of us for the
amount of time we actually spent in the room. That said I feel I
must expand on that a bit. It would have been nice to have a couch
or chair to sit in while watching the evening news, etc. We usually
prefer nicer quarters on vacations and they usually cost much less.
I guess that as long as we're all willing to pay Disney Prices-we
won't get what we pay for...We aren't in the habit of paying $100+taxes/night
for Super8/Red Roof level lodging. This was our first time staying
on property. It was nice to jump on the bus and go to a park, it
was nice to be able to send purchases back to the resort. But IMHO
the value for the money wasn't quite there. Thanx for letting me
vent a little..."
"The
All Star Movies Resort was a great value and the refillable mug
was a great idea! We'll stay there again in a few days this year!"
"We
stayed at All Star Movies in 12/99 with the entire cheerleading
squad for the POP Warner superbowl. We had a wonderful time. The
atmosphere was great. We are hoping to come back again this year
with the whole family. The staff was very courteous. We stayed in
the 101 Dalmations but loved the Toy Story building and hope to
stay there next time."
"We
stayed at the movies location in January of 99. The people that
work they were very friendly and very willing to help us out anyway
that they could. The room (when we were in it) was just wonderful."
"We
are a family of 4, 8 yr. old daughter and 2 yr old son. We stayed
at All Star Movies Resort for 11 days. It was absulately Perfect!
We stayed at the Moderates, Caribbean & Orleans, I feel the rooms
are the same. There was plenty of room for all our stuff. The bus
services was great, never had any problems. I was going to book
Dixie but my daughter was really upset. I asked why. She replied,
" You really are at Disney when you are at the Movies". Well, that
sold me! We were in the Fantasia building which work out great for
us. Everyday my son was the first one at the door. And everyday
we had to swing by to see Buzz Light Year. If you have children
this is the place to be." angela
"In
June, '99, I made my 8th trip to WDW, but it was the first time
that we were able to stay in the WDW Complex. Me, my daughter, a
friend and her son stayed at the All Star Movies Complex. It was
wonderful. Never again will we stay outside WDW. Just the convenience
of staying on-site was worth it. The fun we had at All Star Movies
(Mighty Duck) was an added bonus. The room was a little small, but
since we were there just to take a small rest in the afternoon,
and to sleep at night, it wasn't an inconvenience." Debbie C.
"I
recently stayed at the All Star Movies and was extremely disappointed
in the atmosphere. Several floors above us were under construction
and the work began every morning at around 7:30 AM!!! Sound insulation
in the hotel was very poor with water sounds coming from adjacent
rooms."
"My
family visited Disney World in September. We stayed at the All-Star
Movies Resort in the Buzz building. We feel that the room size was
big enough for the amount of time we spent in the room. (My family
consisted of myself, my husband, a 16 year old 6ft son, and an 18
year old daughter). I definitely wouldn't stay in one of the buildings
that are far away from everything, like the food court, pool, and
bus stop.I think that the Herbie & Mighty Ducks Buildings are
too far from everything. The food at the food court was pretty good
and reasonably priced."
"We
were just at Walt Disney World on September and are now planning
to return. We stayed at the All Star Movies resort. It was low budget
but very nice. I highly recommend it...especially if you have children."
"We
just got back from staying at the All-Star Movie Resort. The children
loved to see all the neat things on the buildings. The hotel was
very clean and everyone was very courteous. However, the bus service
was not very prompt. We waited 2 hours one day for a bus to MGM
Studios. "
"We
just got back from staying at the Toy Story building in the All
Star Movies and it was so cute and neat... it was very clean, and
the whole room was themed which was great. the entire hotel was
nice, the pools are fun and the food court has a pretty good selection
of food."
