Should I stay onsite or offsite?
This question, & the pros and cons of both, is discussed
on another page - Stay on or offsite?
How do I make a reservation at a WDW resort?
You can make a reservation at any WDW resort by either -
Calling WDW CRO on 407-W-DISNEY (934-7639)
to book a room or check availability
Last minute bookings can be made at Disney's Ocala Information Center
on I-75, big discounts can be made, but you can only make reservations
in person. Call 352-854-0770.
How can I get a discount on rooms at WDW resorts?
There are various ways of getting a discounted room, but they are
only offered for certain periods each year, & only a limited
number of rooms are available at the discounted rates. Annual Pass
holders, AAA members and Disney Visa Card holders can get discounts,
for more details see the Resort Discounts
page & the save money section.
What happens if I can't get a reservation for the dates I want?
Keep on calling Disney back, reservations are canceled all the
time, & rooms may become available at the resort of your choice
on a daily basis. Alternatively, try making a reservation with another
source, e.g. our travel
agent, our booking system,
etc. It may also be worth considering a different resort, or
even slightly different dates.
What's the difference between CRO and WDTC?
CRO is Disney's Central Reservations Office. WDTC is Walt Disney
Travel Company. Both are on the same number, and in the same building.
But you can't choose whether you get a CRO agent or WDTC agent,
although many are now cross-trained.
CRO books Florida resident discounts, passholder discounts, AAA
room only & room only 1-2 nights.
WDTC books all annual packages, more than 3 night stays, air fare,
transfers (Mears, limo, town car), rental cars, travel protection,
AAA packages (only AAA travel agents can call and book for their
clients), Disney Club discounts (which will no longer be after 2004),
add-ons (like beach stays, Richard Petty, Cirque, golf experiences).
All direct mail discounts and other general discounts that marketing
advertises will be done through WDTC so that the guest can include
these components, do one-stop shopping, and have one policy &
one place to call to modify, cancel...etc.
What happens once I've made a reservation?
Once you have made your reservation, if you've booked with CRO,
you have 14 days to pay the deposit (one night's room charge plus
tax). You can pay by either posting or faxing the reservation slip
(that will have come by post) to Disney, along with a check (not
by fax) or your credit card details. You can also pay your deposit
over the phone using American Express or Disney credit card.
If it's through WDTC you have 14 days to pay a $200 deposit. The
balance of the reservation is due 45 days prior to arrival. If calling
within 45 days of arrival then the total package amount is due at
time of booking. Guest can make any changes or cancel the reservation
or most components without any penalties if they are outside 45
days. Within 45 days there is a $50 fee and any difference in resort
price or air price. Canceling a reservation 44-6 days before arrival
there is a $100 cancellation fee and any supplier fees. If within
5 days it is $200 and any supplier fees.
What happens if I don't pay the deposit within the required
time?
You will lose the reservation.
Can I request a specific room?
When you book the room, let Disney know your requests (e.g. nonsmoking
room, disabled room, first floor, etc.). They cannot guarantee requests
will be met, but will do their best. You can also call or fax the
room assignor at your resort four days before you arrive, to make
your requests. Make sure you list your preferences in order of priority.
What time can I check in at the resort?
Official check in times are - 4pm for the All-Star resorts,
Saratoga Springs, the Boardwalk, & Old Key West; 1pm at Fort
Wilderness; 3pm at all other resorts. Resorts also offer an early
check in time of 11am, your room may not be ready then, but you
should be able to complete your check in. If your room isn't ready,
you can leave your luggage at bell services, who will deliver it
to your room later.
What time is check out?

time of 1pm (subject to availability). Make this request when you
check in. You can also leave your luggage at bell services after
you've checked out.

with king-size beds, roll-in showers, handrails, etc. Complimentary
wheelchairs are also available to hire at all resorts (a deposit
