"every april i stay at the polynesian resort and the caribean
beach resort, both are clean, beautiful and the service is friendly
and great! dining was great at both places, at the polynesian the concierge
louge food in unbelieveable and old port royale at the caribean has
a wide range of foods to suit everyones tastes! its delicious! =) i
would recommend it to anyone!! no one can go to disney and leave unhappy!
both resorts are tropical and warm with a friendly atmosphere! my family
and i look forward to going every year! the food is great as well as
the room service...the staff cannot do enough for you and it is very
safe and secure! from a scale of 1-10 id give it an 11!!" (3/03)

" I have yet to find a Disney Resort I didn't love! Contemporary,
Polynesian, the old Golf Resort, Fort Wilderness Campground, Treehouses,
villas overlooking Downtown Disney, Disney Institute bungalows and townhouses,
Caribbean Beach Resort, Old Key West. They all have that special magic
and mystic. They do an excellent job of making you feel like you are
actually in the Caribbean or wherever with the architecture. The resorts
are always clean and most of the Cast Members are pleasant! I look forward
to going back because WDW brings the kid out in you! No matter how old
or young you are!" (1/03) SCNC
"Dixie Ldg was great, Coronado Springs had great water slide but
hated food court set-up, All Star movies was very clean but small and
good for no more than 4 people. All Star was great for the price considering
how little time you spend in the room. Stayed at CBR twice and going
back this year for a stay. Kids love the pool and I like the food court
set-up and at nights my kids like the Limbo contest they had. One year
for Haloween it poured for hours one evening so we went do w n to the
Food Court just to get out of the room and the hotel staff dressed up
in outfits and all the kids put their's on and had trick or treat at
the tables. CBR is my favorite for the money. Those who are looking
to save, the All Star resort is fine. I always rent a car which only
runs me 30 or 40 dollars more than the bus from the airport but allows
me to come and go more freely at the parks, espcially if you are staying
at the All Star. It slos allowed me to go out to the grocery store and
drive to other resorts. CBR,Dixie, and All Star resorts had nice food
courts, Coronado has a bad set-up. For moderate I like the CBR the best
but for your dollar the All Star Movies (being the newest of the three
AS resort themes) is pretty good." (5/02)
"we have been to disney world 3 times and are all booked up to
return on sep 11.2002 and are looking forward to it considering the
date. the first time we went we stayed in the international inn on international
drive, the first visit was in july and it was very warm especially for
the kids and the theme parks were too busy. the 2nd and 3rd time we
went was magic. the 2nd time we stayed in the wilderness resort and
the kids loved it and getting around was so easy with the disney transport
(we have 7 kids so you can imagine what its like to get transport outside
the resort. the 3rd time was best of all, we stayed in the polynessian
resort and that was special, once again the weather was great , one
or 2 showers but still had fun. we stayed their for 11 days and spent
the other three on the disney magic and had a great time on board. the
port was disappointing as the people in Nassau in the bahamas were very
aggressive and to spoil things more we ended up in key west because
castaway cay was destroyed by a hurricane, but on board the ship made
up for it all. we are staying in the wilderness resort again and are
going on the 7 day cruise and are really looking forward to it. i love
american people and dont know why anyone can do what they done on sep11.
thats our date to come back to america and nothing will stop us. there
is 22 in our party this time so you will probably hear us." THE
GREENAN FAMILY FROM SCOTLAND.
"resort: Polynesian and Caribbean
accomodation: Both locations were exceptionally clean. The location
for the Polynesian was Garden View overlooking the Luau Cove. This is
an excellent location as you can hear the Hawaiian music from the Luau
each evening. Excellent. Caribbean Beach location was a Water View.
The first year we were in the Trinidad North - this is a distance from
the Food Court but after that year we always stayed in Martinique. This
is very close to Food Court and Gift area. Would I stay there again
- YES! Would I go to Disney again - YES!
dining: Dining at both locations were excellent. Caribbean Beach had
an excellent variety of foods. O'Hana Restaurant at the Polynesian was
excellent and the service was very good." Roberta Audette
"We have stayed at the Caribbean, Port Orleans, All-Star Music
and Sports, and Wilderness Lodge. Each offers its own unique experience.
We loved the Caribbean; it was our first experience at a Disney Resort.
My son played on the playground on the island and then we looked at
the birds along the path. The pool was great; it looks like a Spanish
fort. The rooms were plenty big and still are now with the addition
of our daughter. You can be at the Old Port Royale in a matter of minutes,
either by bus or a beautiful stroll around the lake. We also loved the
Wildnerness Lodge; we had a room with bunkbeds and a hidden Mickey on
the balcony. We could watch the fireworks over Cinderella's castle from
our room. It was also great to go to the dock and see the Electric Water
Pageant. The pool and geyser are great too. Our favorite is Port Orleans.
We had the pleasure of staying here at Christmas, in the Spring, and
for the Marathon. We love the proximity of the main building to the
whole complex, the boat to Downtown Disney, the play area and the slide
on the pool. It is extremely peaceful here. We've had two experiences
at the All-Stars. The first time we stayed at Music and had a great
time. The kids loved the pool and there were plenty of kids. The second
time we were at Sports and it was a bit noisy. The rooms at both were
clean, plenty large for four (we don't spend alot of time in them),
and the castmembers went out of their way to help, etc... We did learn
from our Sports experience to not stay on the side of the building nearest
the play field, playground, or pool. Teenagers don't need sleep! However,
our kids love these resorts, because there are plenty of kids their
ages. Each resort is what you make of it.
We ate in the food courts of PO, CBR, and AS-Mu & S. The whole family
can choose what they want and there's plenty for everyone. There are
fruit plates and salads, hamburgers and pizzas, pastas, chicken fingers,
etc... We also recommend getting the resorts refillable mug. We had
hot chocolate in the morning; soft drinks, tea, and lemonade the rest
of the day. The kids even go and get some hot chocolate before retiring.
The WL has a great snack bar and Artist Point. We enjoyed the Character
Breakfast here.
We wouldn't stay off site for anything. We love the convenience the
resorts offer. Port Orleans is our top pick!" (6/01) Connie
"I stayed in the All Star Music and hated it. We stayed in Caribbean
Beach in 98 and loved it. Then in 99 we stayed a couple of nights in
Caribean Beach then went to All Star Music for a couple of nights...what
a culture shock. The room was filthy. The carpets and bathroom floor
dirty. The walls were stained. The bathroom was disgusting. The soap
from the previous people was still there. We stayed two nights and I
wouldn't even shower there. It was gross. I couldn't wait to go home
once I stayed there. I have learned my lesson. It is not worth staying
the value resorts. I love Caribean Beach Resort. Our room at the All
Star Music was very far away and we had to drag all of our luggage down
the hot path. Never again. We are visiting again in 6/01 and the Caribbean
Beach will get my business again." resh@sgi.net
"I would like to add some input on the WDW resorts that I have
had the pleasure of visiting over the years. As a child, I have stayed
in the Contemporary Resort garden wings and the Polynesian Resort. As
a child, I really enjoyed the Contemporary because of the large shallow
kiddie pool, the playground, the extensive game room, and the 9pm electrical
water parade. I have been back only to eat and shop at the resort, but
was pleased to see the water parade while dining at the California Grill
this past October. It has not changed since the 1980's! The Polynesian
wasn't as "kid friendly", but was a beautiful resort nonetheless. In
1997, my husband and I returned and stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort.
My only complaint was that since there were so many "villages" that
the bus had to stop at, it was sometimes a lengthy wait to get on or
off the bus. Our last trip was October 2000, and we stayed at the Dixie
Landings Resort. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor for this
moderate resort. The bus trips were of an average length. We rarely
had to ride longer than 20-30 minutes to reach most destinations at
WDW. I am anxiously planning our next visit, and would like to stay
at the Wilderness Lodge Resort." Lucy Rogers (1/01)
We were very pleased with the with the Port Orleans and the All Star
Movie. We arrived in Orlando two days early so they were able to put
us at the All Star Disney until our room was available at the Port Orleans.
Our children liked the All Star Movie Resort better mostly because of
the surroundings. They did a great job with all of the decor! We were
very surprised at how clean the rooms were! We were very tempted just
to continue our stay at the All Star Movie except that the only draw
back was the room was very small. We have 3 children. The room would
be perfect for a family of one maybe two children. We felt very squeezed
in. The rooms were decorated very nicely and the pool was great there.
We got to the Port Orleans and the rooms were bigger and very nice.
I didn't like how far our building was from the pool and the restaurant.

"My wife and I have been to PO and DL and can honestly say that
staying in a Disney hotel only adds to the overall experience. The hotels
were brilliant, comfortable, clean, weel appointed. The food was fine
as you could use the food court or go to the restaurant, and with Downtown
Disney just down the road the choise went on and on. Both stays were
magical and I can't wait for my baby daughter to be old enough so we
can return. Keep it up Disney." (10/00)
"Definately stay at a Disney Resort. If you dont want to spend
much, the All-Star resorts start at 75.00 (depending on the season)
and you are still at a Disney Resort. Also, get up early. Be at the
park at least when it opens, and you'll cover all the major rides in
no time! If you dont mind spending more money on a hotel (200-300 a
night, then may i recommend the Contemporary, and stay in the tower,
not a wing! No feeling quite like eating breakfast with all the characters,
and then hearing the monorail pass right in the middle of the 4th floor
lobby! HAVE FUN and enjoy. There is no place on earth likr Disney World."
"My husband and five year old daughter stayed at the All Star
Movies last year. It was our first trip and as soon as we got home we
couldn't wait to plan our next trip! This June we will be going again
and we booked it at the Carribbean Beach Resort. It is a little more
than the All Stars, but our daughter (who will be seven by the time
we go), seemed to really enjoy the experience of the pool last time
at the All Star. I noticed from brochures and comments that the CBR
has one very elaborate main pool (as well as other pools), and a beautiful
sand beach area. By booking at this resort I think we'll have a great
time out of the parks as well as in the parks. All Stars were okay for
the price, but if you can go for a little better, it may still be worth
the money for the extra amenities."
"the Carribean Beach Resort is a great place to stay, as well
as almost all the resorts. The only one we don't like is the Coronado
because of the way the food court is set up."
"Stayed in all of the All Star Resorts since 97. I like the MOVIES
the best! Also stayed at Coronado in 98. Too big and a lot more walking!
Have to stay there in November 2000. I hope its better!" (8/00)
"MY HUSBAND AND I GO TO DISNEY AT LEAST ONCE PER YEAR. WE LOVED
THE PORT ORLEANS. THE GROUNDS WERE BEAUTIFUL. WE LIKED IT MUCH BETTER
THAN THE CARRIBEAN BEACH. CARRIBEAN BEACH WAS NICE, BUT A LONG WALK
TO THE MAIN LOBBY. ALL STAR MUSIC IS A GOOD CHOICE FOR THE MONEY, AND
FOR KIDS. SINCE WE DON'T HAVE CHILDREN, I'VE FOUND THE POLYNESIAN TO
BE MY FAVORITE SO FAR. THE NIGHT TIME LUAU WAS WONDERFUL. VERY SCENIC
AND A NICE MEAL. AND ONCE ITS OVER, YOU GET TO SEE THE LIGHTED BOAT
PARADE ON THE LAGOON. FOR OUR NEXT VISIT, IN OCTOBER, WE ARE TRYING
THE BOARDWALK. CAN'T WAIT!" 8/00
"For your money All-star resorts are the best. Rooms are small,
but how long are you in them anyway? Particularly Movies... My dau loved
the sleeping on her star bed, the Toy Story section and the Dalmations.
Dixie Landings was horrible. It smelled moldy, and the carpet was filthy.
Our maid was more interested in decorating withn souvenirs than cleaning.
We asked for a room where there wasn't much walking. (my mom uses a
cane)We had to walk miles for everything but the bus. They did offer
a wheelchair. (on the last day) We needed to give kids naps and they
were doing construction, very noisy..." 8/00
"My sister and I stayed at Port Orleans one year and Dixie Landings
a year an a half later. It is hard to say which we prefered; they both
were spectacular! Since she is interested in the American Civil War
and Southern style architecture, history, etc., the grounds/theme of
Dixie Landings were phenominal for her. But we both thought Port Orleans,
with its smaller size, quaint streets and lovely grounds, won ahead
of its sister resort because of its charm and managability. I would
recommend Port Orleans to any adult vacationers or a family with children
who need Disney theme and entertainment, but not overkill." 7/00
"Our family(my husband, daughter 17, son 14& myself) has visited
WDW at least twice a year since '92. Each time it gets better and better.
We joined DVC which has been a great value to us. However there are
times whern OKW and BW are filled and we've had to try other hotels.
Our favorite has been Wilderness Lodge We stayed there in Aug. '99 and
had a blast. We were thrilled to find out that DVC will complete another
branch at WL in 2001. If your family has caught the Disney Bug like
ours, the DVC is definitely something to seriously consider. Please
e-mail if you have any questions!" Garbagegirl14@hotmail.com 7/00
"My family and I stayed in Wilderness Lodge in Feb 99. That was
our first time staying in the lodge. We Stayed in Dixie Landings for
our honeymoon in July 97. Which was really great but not as great as
Wilderness lodge. It is the most beautiful resort on the grounds. We're
going back again in November of this year. Hopefully there will be some
Christmas decorations." 7/00
"I love Disney and have stayed in the Contemporary 2X, CBR and
Dixie Landings,. I had two different experiences at the Contemporary;
the first time was a two week stay where they were renovating rooms
and we were woken up every morning by 7 a.m. to sounds of loud drilling.
Finally, we changed our room, but not without a hassle. My other stay
was wonderful, there is nothing greater than the convenience of the
monorail right there...really cuts out a lot of walking!! Didn't like
CBR...too much walking and often waited over 1/2 hour for buses. Room
was dirty. I really liked Dixie Landings...beautiful scenery. Want to
try Yacht Club next. Have fun if you go ...I would vacation there all
the time if my husband would agree to it!!" nina@tarabokija.com

"I stayed at the coronado springs resort. It's a beautiful resort
but a lot of walking. The service is ok but not all that great. June
2001 I'm going to stay in Port Orleans resort. So I can't wait. I'm
definitly looking forward to next year."
"we have been to disney world four times. two trips we stayed
in condos outside. the other two trips we stayed at the all star music.
we love it there. it is really geared for kids and families. the buildings
are so cute with there themes. the food court actually has a great variety
of everything you could want. its close to alot. we also love blizzard
beach. we will be back hopefully in two years, cant go because of school.
i thing the all star hotels are great for the price and the fun."
"We have stayed in several WSW Resorts over the last 5 years.
Comments: Wilderness Lodge - Beautiful but very noisy. We had small
kids who were awakened during naps because of the boats' horns. Also,
walls so thin we could hear our neighbor using the bathroom. Wouldn't
stay here again..Port Orleans - Great resort, kids loved the pool...Coronado
- Stayed in the casitas. Had a king bed and great view. It was kind
of weird seeing business people at conventions dressed in suits and
name tags while we were on our vacation. Transportation was a breeze
- no other resort stops. Lake at night is beautiful. ASMovies - Check
in is SLOW and service isn't the greatest but you get what you pay for-
food court great for the kids. Rooms are small for four for a week.
Would stay here again as well as PO and CS."
"I have stayed at the contempory, port orleans ,car.beach, wilderness
lodge, dis.institute,we stayed at a suite at the cont. and were very
disappointed the room wasn't clean there was no where to put clothes, the
bedroom and the living room area are the same room with only one tv.so
if someone wanted to stay up and watch tv,which is why we get a suite,
everyone was disturbed. We asked to be moved and were moved to a regular
room and still payed the suite price! I loved the Carr. beach great
room, lots of color and charm.I found port orleans cheap and depressing, wilderness
lodge was great but very costly.Disney inst. nice but far away and no
disney spirit."
"As nice as Wilderness Lodge is, I don't think it is worth spending
the extra dollars. To me. Dixie Landings is just as nice and the landscaping
is gorgeous. If you have to have a balcony or just like a resort with
all the rooms in one building, then the Wilderness Lodge is great."
"Our first year at WDW, we stayed at the old Disney Inn, which
was great. The second time we stayed at a Fort Wilderness home and it
was good, if you're willing to do everything yourself! It was as if
you were camping with no people to help you. This time, we stayed at
the Polynesian and it was perfect! My whole family fell in love with
it and didn't want to leave!"
"I've stayed in the Grand Floridian (3) Beach Club (1) Port Orleans
(2) and Caribbean Beach recently (1). They were all clean and met our
needs at the time w/o fail, but my personal favorite is the GF. It's
where I spent my honeymoon, my 1st wedding anniversary and where I took
my mother (who was ill with Alzheimers) for a special mother and daughter
WDW trip. She died recently so I have special memories of the GF."
Mrs. M.
"Caribbean beach had dirty, very small rooms with small bath rooms.
The one room smelled so much like a pool and bleach we couldn't go in
it with out feeling sick. The service was poor and we had to switch
to the board walk inn. The board walk inn was perfect everyone was nice
and the rooms were clean and large. I would not stay anywhere but a
deluxe resort from now on."
""We have stayed at Port Orleans and CBR. I enjoyed my stay at
Port Orleans more because it was so much easier to get around (we stayed
in area 3 on the ground floor). Our rooms were very near the food court
(unlike our rooms at the CBR). At the CBR, we were far from the food
court and had to take the bus(we had small children and wouldn't have
walked them). Although the CBR was very pretty and the 'private' pools
for each section makes it a plus, when ever we returned from the Parks,
we always had trouble finding our rooms!!! We will be returning to WDW
next year and I will be returning to PO once again."
"We've stayed at the Fort Wilderness Cabins, Grand Floridian,
Disney Villas, Contemporary Resort, and Days Inn. Our best experiences
have been at the campground with our golf cart and at the Villas."
"I have stayed at the all star music. dixie landings and the yacht
club. All three were wonderful. At one time we had our flight cancelled
and we had to leave the property due to lack of rooms and we stayed
at the Grosvenor hotel fo rone night until we could get a flight out.
It was totally gross. The toilet was stuffed with wads of toilet paper,
the carpet damp, empty beer bottles behind chairs. The room smelled
moldy! What a disappointment, even though it was close to the marketplace,
I will never stay there again." Joannejovovich@aol.com
"My daughter and I have visited 7 times in the last 3 years. We've
stayed at Boardwalk Inn, Wilderness Lodge, Port Orleans(2), Beach Club,
and Coronado Springs(2). Our only complaints are the noise from our
courtyard balcony at WL & room near the elevator at CS. BC was totally
awesome - we could see Illuminations from our standard view balcony,
and we had a blast at Stormalong Bay! Loved WL & PO's themeing. We will
be staying at the Grand Floridian in June 2000, and Boardwalk Villas
with my parents in Dec. 2000. Each stay has been magical!" TW in
TX
"My best Disney hotel experience was at the Yacht Club. Epcot
is my favorite park and walking there from the YC was very convenient.
I have also stayed at the Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans. While both
are good, I prefer PO. New Orleans is one of my favorite cities. Although
PO is a sanitized version of the Crescent City, I like the bar, Bonfamille's
restaurant and the food court which has excellent beignets IF YOU GET
THEM FRESH (no more than 30 minutes old). Walking along the canal to
Dixie Landings at night is a magical experience. jmccormjl"
"My two granddaughters and I stayed at the All Star Sports and
had a wonderful time.We have stayed there three times and it was good
every time.We also stayed at the Port Orleans but didn't care for it.I
found that it wasn't as friendly there as it was at the All Star Sports."

"Just writing to tell you about our trip to the great " Walt Disney
World" in Orlando. Our first visit was in January of 1997and we stayed
at the "Beach Club Resort" , it was the most fun our family has had.
We enjoyed all the parks but getting to visit all the differant resort
hotels might have been just as fun. We are returning for our second
visit this December 29 and we will be staying at the "All-Star Sports
Resort", trying to do the trip a little cheaper this time around. By
the way my name is David Russell I live in Dallas,Tx."
"It would be hard to pick a favorite. All of the Disney resorts
we stayed at were great in their own way. We stayed at the Contemporary
twice - once in the tower (recommend) and once in a garden wing(too
far from everything). We stayed at the Caribbean beach resort three
times ( recommend Jamaica or Aruba). It has a very nice setting. The
last time we reluctantly stayed at the All Star Music and were very
pleasantly surprised. It was a nice and clean resort with alot a life.
In July 2000 we will be staying at the All Star Movie and the Boardwalk
Villas. When we are at Disney we try to visit some of the resorts to
see what they would be like for the future."
"We stayed at the Yacht Club Thanksgiving week '99. Best area!
However, even though Disney wrote the book on crowd management there
were too many people. This was understandable considering the time of
the year. Food facilities were not adequate to handle the crowds. Food
rating 2. Pool complex was fabulous, but again too many people. ESPN
rated a 1 for food, 2 for service, 1 for comfort, 2 for experience.
Dolphin had great pizza. Had a great time at the piano bar on the boardwalk.
I felt sorry for the hotel staff. At times the amount of people they
were trying to serve seemed to overwhelm them. You have to give them
a E for effort...they did try. Again, due to Thanksgiving the theme
parks at times resembled Grand Central Station at rush hour. But Disney's
crowd management was very impressive."
"I have stayed at the Carribean Resort and Dixie Landings and
I loved both of them. The setting of both makes your stay there as magical
as when you go to the parks!"
" The Grand Floridian is truly beautiful and elegant for those
with more refined tastes. The only downside I can see is that it lacks
the total emersion in "Disney" that most of the other hotels have. Also
stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. The Boardwalk is really convenient to Epcot
and MGM, but get ready to share your resort with many other visitors
not staying at your hotel."
"I have stayed in the CBR 3 times now. It is wonderful. I stayed
at Dixie Landings as well once but my favorite is definitely CBR. I
love the atmosphere, the music, everything. Every time I get down or
depressed, I think back to the warm sun on the beach and it all goes
away. I love the talking birds! The only complaint I have with Disney
World is the food prices. Way too much money for a simple burger, fries,
and soda. The employees are really really nice. One of the bus drivers
went out of her way after the bus had cleared to take my brother and
me to Fantasia Gardens. She was very nice and I wish I could remember
her name. I love Florida and Disney World is one of the greatest places
there."
"My family and I have been to Disney 4 times. We will be going
for our fifth time this coming May. We have stayed at the All Star Sports
resort 3 times. Our fourth time visiting disney we stayed at Coranado
Springs. Out of the two resorts The all star was our favorite. I think
this is because at Coranado Springs there was a lot of walking. Meaning
It was a 5 minute walk just to get to the food court. Also it took a
couple of minutes just to get to the pool. Whereas,at the all star resorts
there was not a lot of walking. I think my family will enjoy the Carribean!
It sounds great."
"Have stayed at the Contemporary, Fleetwood homes in Fort Wilderness,
Wilderness Lodge and Port Orleans. Will be staying at Dixie Landings
in Nov. I liked each resort at the time. I must say though having experienced
a small variety of accommodations, my family least liked the Contemporary
(prefer more theming) and we just loved Port Orleans. The food court
was very convenient, though we liked the selection at Dixie better.
The boat to the Marketplace charming and the pool loads of fun for the
kids. Found Port Orleans to be relaxing. Building #1 lower level courtyard
view was perfect. Far enough away from the pool yet still close to everything."
"In 1997 first time to Disney we stayed at the Grosvenor(me,my
husband,16yrold,13yrold,and 7 yr old. It was an ok experience. I did
not get the fridge I had requested and the bureau was broken, I did
complain and they did not charge me for my extra cot in the room. In
1999 cam with my 7yr old who was now 9 and stayed at the All Star Sports
(Football) We had a view of the field and we were there the same time
there was a cheerleader championship( I think they were all staying
there). ASP is kept so nice and clean. We loved it. Our maid made a
display of all my sons toys we bought in Disney World. The place is
noisy but worth the money. Would never stay off the property. We are
going in Nov,2000. We are debating if we will stay at the CBR or PO.
but I know it will be wonderful."
"We are now Seniors and still going to Disney World. Even though
I am in a wheel-chair, we are planning our 7th trip. We have camped
at Fort Wildernes a number of times. We also have stayed at the Polynesian
Hotel and All Star Music Hotel. Every place all the staff have been
wonderful. The handicap rooms at All Star Music were great. It included
a coffee pot, frig. and a shower that the wheelchair could be wheeled
into. The handicapped are treated so special and I thank them from the
bottom of my heart. A great price at all All Star Hotels." sdhan@juno.com
"We have stayed at the dolphin, dixie landings, shades of green
and off site at a travelodge (don't do it unless you're on a really
tight budget). definitely stay on site. shades of green is unbeatable
if you're eligible (military, dept of defense, national guard, etc).
no tax, lots of quiet kids (military influence) and a safe feeling.
dixie was also nice. room a bit small if your kids are over 10 and you're
all in one room. pool, food court and grounds were great! dolphin was
outstanding. our oldest daughter was 8 when we went and thought the
lobby looked like a palace. terrific pool and poolside bar/lunch area.
big rooms and quick access to epcot. we are trying coronado for part
of our trip this year and also shades of green for the value and consistently
good trips we've enjoyed there."
"I stayed in the Boardwalk Inn, it was very luxurious and comfortable
and conveniant. The Grand Floridian is one of the Best hotels Ive ever
been in. The polynesian was great, but I didnt feel quite at home like
i did in the above two. The contemporary resort is my favorite of all
of them. Comfortable, conveniant, fun and the Monorail right outside
your door is such a treat!"
"i stayed in the all star music and very much enjoyed my stay
there. l also stayed at the contemporary and all star movies. we had
many problems at check in time. But over all we had a great stay and
look forward to going back soon.we travel with a group of 13/15 people.
we all have a great time with no fights. it cost us but its our favorite
place to go.signed PugGodmother"
"Everything at WDW is wonderful. Guests are treated like royalty
even at the All-Star Resorts. My favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge
- after a full day sitting in front of a fire, rocking in a chair and
listening to folks as they come home after a full day- even watching
the Water Parade and the guyser was super. Looking forward to staying
at the CBR this year." Irishwiz45@aol.com
"My daughter and I have stayed off site, All Star Music, All Star
Movies, Polynesian and Port Orleans. My daughter and her grandmother
stayed once at the Contemporay. When we stayed off site we were able
to get a suite with four rooms and a full kitchen for less than 1/2
the price of even the All Star rooms! However, I prefer the convenience
of staying onsite. The All Star resorts are a great bargain. The pools
are huge and the food courts outstanding. The themeing is all Disney.
However, be prepared because the resort is CROWDED. You will not find
much peace and quite at the All Star. Port Orleans is quiet and much
less crowded. The one word I would use for PO is "charming". The Polynesian
is outstanding! We truly felt we were in the South Pacific. What an
experience! My daughter has enjoyed every resort we have stayed and
really liked PO. However, she swears by the arcades and food courts
at the All Star Resorts." Sasabu@aol.com
"We've stayed at the all star sports, the all star music, dixie
landings, carribean beach, coronado springs, the board walk, and are
heading next for the beach club!!!... i have enjoyed every stay in disney,
all of the cast memmbers and disney should be proud!. my personal favorite
is dixie landings..( it just feels so comfortable) but i enjoy the variety
of staying at different resorts" dauwer@mediaone.net
"Dixie Landings was great! The food court there was wonderful!!!
Port Orleans was fun. The Pool area there is really neat, the water
slide was cool. This summer we are going to Boardwalk. We toured it
the last time we were at Disney. It was really pretty! I especially
liked the Keister Koaster, Roller Coaster slide!"
"Coronado Springs. Did not care for the way food is served there.
The housekeeping staff is not friendly. Did not decorate for Christmas.
Lacks the Disney Magic. Seems to be geared more to the Convention Center,
(which was unoccupied during our stay) Won't stay there again. This
is as compared to CBR and DL which we have also stayed at several times."
"Where you stay also puts bearing on transportaton time and how
you get there (transportaton center or dierect). The wilderness camp
grounds is timely while the wilderness lodge is great. The more you
spend the better it is! As they say m.g.m means mouse gets money, or
every pocket comes outtrashed. (epcot)."
"I've stayed at Port Orleans, Dixie Landings, and at the Wilderness
Lodge. Everytime I go to Disney, the hotel is what makes it so special.
I would rather spend extra money than stay outside of the park. The
hotel is what makes the vacation so enjoyable. I've never slept better
than when those huge blinds are closed and the air conditioning is blasting.
And the employees are so nice! Disney is like a break from the world
and it really is a magical place!!"
"We have been 4 years in a row and so far our favorite is Dixie Landings.
The atmosphere is great and so is the food court. This year we are going
to try Port Orleans or Wilderness Lodge."
" I have been to Disney World every year for the past 4 years.
The first time we (myself, husband and then 6 year old) stayed at the
All Star, and it was great! That year I gave birth to triplets and so
the next year we stayed and the Fairway Villas. Fantastic. The next
2 years we stayed at condons offsite, which were fine, but I advise,
if you want to have mega fun and you have kids, stay on proprety. The
Feb. 14, my 7th anniversary, we will be staying on property, but we
are not sure of what resort to choose."
"My Family and I go to Disney every year since 1994 and we always
stay in one of the resorts, we started out with the carribean then dixie, all
star music, polynesian, and then coronado, and our favorite places have
alway been in the moderate resorts we are going back this year and staying
at the Port Orleans When I said my family i was talking about my wife,
my little girl and myself. My mother and farther has taken my brother
and i since 1974 and we had fun no matter where we stayed but we always
stayed in the resorts and still do. the grand floridian is very nice.
the poly is too. the contemp is a tradition for my family old and young
just to walk around go to the gameroom with the whole family, then go
to dinner at one of it's resturants. Anyway there is no place on earth
like disney." David Thacker
"Poly! Love it....w/o a doubt our fave resort. Have stayed at
the Grand, CBR and BC as well and now consider the Poly home and don't
stay anywhere else. Fabulous transportation, great atmosphere, large
rooms, fun pool, very relaxing!!!, killer views, great restaurants and
staff, great shopping, etc"
"I have been to Walt disney world several times. I've stayed at
the Grand Floridian x3, Polynesian x2, Contemporary x2, Port Orleans
x1, and the Swan. My order from best to worst (including food, service,
pools, kids time, and adult time. was #1. Polynesian #2. Grand Floridian
#3. contemporary #4. Port Orleans #5. Dixie landings(was horrible shouldn't
even been on the list.) The first three on my list are fanominal(if
you have the money. The Port Orleans was AMAZING for KIDS, but, not
the glamoris and kind of cheap. The Swan was peacefull, and very relaxing
for adults.( on a 1-10 the swan is a 7) and the Dixie landings was gross,
there was mold growing on the shower wall, and was not very good, but
the theme is nice. you could reach me or ask me Questions at ck1113@aol.com"
"I went to WDW in July and stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort. I
thought it was wonderful. Great service, beautiful rooms, plenty of
swimming pools, and wonderful and delicious food. I would definitely
stay there again and it is definitely worth the price you pay to stay.
Also, the Grand Floridian is remarkable! I visited it on my trip and
was astounded by it!"
"Port Orleans is a personal favorite but since we have had children
it has been a little too over priced so now we stay at the fort wilderness
campground and have a great time."
"Been to Disney twice. Stayed at All-Star Movies (Sep. 99) and All-Star
Music (Apr.96). Rooms are a little small but for the amount of time
you are in them they were fine for us(husband, me, 16 year old son,and
18 year old daughter). I do think, though, that the next trip will be
to the "next step up" hotel either Coronado Springs or Dixie Landings."
"I have stayed at Coronado Springs and the Contemporary. Both were
wonderful. I loved the bridges and the lake at the Coronado. It was
so peaceful there. They also make the best homemade waffles in the world.
You can get them topped with anything you want."
"I have stayed at the Contemporary ('92) and The Beach Club ('96).
Both are very nice but the Beach Club is the best. The pool can't be
beat. The closeness to EPCOT was great and the burgers at Beaches and
Cream are the best. Going in Oct. 2000 for a family reunion and staying
at the All Star Music (due to the cost). Can't wait!"
"we are dvc members, and we were unable to get a room at the boardwalk
or okw, so we opted for the wilderness lodge. what a mistake. gone was
the relaxed atmosphere we were used to. would we stay there again? no
way."
"For the last three years we have only stayed on property-and have
come to the conclusion there is no place else to stay! our home club
is Old Key West, but we hop from there to Boardwalk, and Fort Wilderness.
My mother, four brothers, husband and I will be there for New Years
Eve and are so excited"
"Last year my wife and I stayed a week at Coronado
Springs for our honeymoon. The rooms were nice and the staff very helpful.
The grounds were well kept and very beautiful. After a long day at the
parks, we enjoyed lying in the hammocks and watching the stars. I loved
it! It was awesome! But we were not in the room or on the grounds of
the resort that much. I really suggest staying in a moderate or value
hotel because of the small amount of time spent in the rooms. However,
this year we are staying at the Wilderness and the Boardwalk for our
one-year anniversary. I know that I said to stay at a moderate resort,
but when the wife speaks. you listen! Besides, it's only money and we
have no kids! Anyway, I'd really like some feedback from you DW vets
on what things to see and do. Places to eat or things to see that are
not obvious to the usual tourist! Thanks and see you this Halloween
'99 for the millennium." Michael, Michaelfr_tsp@msn.com
"Dixie Landings is a family favorite because
of its beautiful surroundings, pleasant atmosphere, delightful theming
and lovely accommodations. Wilderness Lodge is a grand resort in every
sense. My husband and I were married there on Thanksgiving Day in 1996.
We can't think of a better place to have started our life together."
"Dixie Landings was one of my very favorite
resorts, followed closely by All Star Music (I know this is the "value
resort", and the rooms are small, but the bright colors and cheery atmosphere
were contagious). I seem to be in the vast minority in thinking that
my least fav was CBR. Of all of my Disney Resort experiences (6 in all
- each one in a new resort), this was the only one I found to be bland
(in regards to theming and colors) as well as unfriendly. Others seem
to love it though, and it has quite the following. Next stay is at the
Yacht Club!!!!"
"Location, location, location. Loved access
@Yacht Club via water & I'natl G'way, but you miss parades. Next
is W'ness Lodge to see Floating Elec Parade, Main St Parade or whatever
at MK. The Lodge so unique, but Gr Floridian truly fit for our darling
late Princess Diana--how we miss her:(".
"My favourite resort theming - Wilderness Lodge
- the most relaxing place that I have stayed.
Best transportation options - Poly - also relaxing
- this was my favourite until I stayed at WL.
Best pool - Beach Club - Stormalong Bay was
lovely and Beach Club also had the best room service. Try the french
toast with strawberry sauce!"
"We've stayed at the Caribbean Beach about 5
times and always enjoy. Our favorite islands are Jamaica and Aruba,
both across the bridge from Port Royale. The view is really nice across
the lagoon. We've also stayed in a studio at Boardwalk Villas - a beautiful
hotel but you can walk for miles if you are near the end of the hall.
We really enjoyed the nightly entertainment on the Boardwalk, the great
shops and the ESPN club. Overall, I'd say to stay at CB, it's half the
price of the Boardwalk Villa (and how much time do you spend in that
room anyway!)."
"When I was engaged I stayed with the future-in-laws
off grounds in a condo. at the Marriott. For our honeymoon we stayed
at the Grand Floridian for a week. For our one year anniversary we stayed
at the Grand Fl. again (wanted to relive the magic:)) We then had kids
and stayed off grounds in a condo. (the kids were 3 and 5yrs). Last
year they were 4 and 6 yrs. and we stayed at the Polynesian. This year,
end of Aug, we are staying at the Contemporary. All of our trips have
been wonderful and we have come to realize that there is really no such
thing as the "best place". It depends on your situation, budget, kids,
time of year...... The only mistake we have made is that we stayed off
grounds with young children. BIG MISTAKE! We learned that when it comes
to young children, alot of walking, and the Florida heat the number
one consideration is convenience! I would love to hear what you think
about the Contemporary." Teewt@aol.com
"Stayed twice at the Contemporary Resort 93,95
each for two weeks and the Yacht Club for two weeks in 97.Also had a
look at all the other Disney accommodation. When we go again it will
be the Yacht Club with the Dixie Landings a second choice. All package
trips.Best airline is Virgin. All trips made at Easter due to school
holidays. All trips to Florida with British Airways but with two Virgin
holidays to Disneyland in California I would recommend Virgin on a long
haul anytime. Regards" Mick R.
"I have stayed at the CBR and the BW Villas.
Both were wonderful for different reasons. The CBR is great if you're
looking for inexpensive and have kids. The theming is wonderful and
it is a lively atmosphere. The BW Villas are more expensive but very
convenient to Epcot and MGM. There was also more to do at night at the
Boardwalk".
"We have stayed at both Dixie Landings and Old
Key West loved them both...." gvmuir@home.com
"I have stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort
and the Port Orleans Resort. I Really enjoyed Caribbean Beach. The food
is great and I love riding the boats and the bikes. At some time I'm
going to visit the Coronado Springs Resort. Port orleans was ok but
I didn't like it as much as Caribbean beach. At Caribbean beach I don't
know why people don't like the food court. I love the souvenir shops
and the way they serve drinks is great because after you buy the cups
you can just refill whenever you want."
"For a moderate resort we really liked Dixie
Landings. We found out if you are going with a group that you better
stay at the same resort or it is too hard to get together. You can meet
at the parks but to get from resort to resort on the buses is not very
easy or convenient."
"I attended WDW when my daughter sang there with
her childrens choir in December.I couldn't believe how much more fun we
had.We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge,Yacht&Beach Club, twice
in the fleetwood trailers, and camped in our trailer. We stayed at the All
Star music the last two times because we were with the singing group.I
can honestly say we were pleasantly surprised. The pools were nice and
the snack area was a hit.The nicer hotels are wonderful but you spend
very little time in your room.We were amazed at the speed we were able
to ride and see shows. I've enjoyed your info.Sincerely,Mary Lou"
"We have been to Disney World 7 times. My children
love the pool at Yacht and Beach Club. It is hard to top. We are considering
staying at the Boardwalk next time but I am wondering if we will like
it as well. My children are older now and will like the excitement I think.
If any one has stayed at both I would love to see your comparison. Thank
you. Deb email me djaspen@uplogon.com"
"We have stayed at The Contemporary, Wilderness
Lodge, Dixie Landings, Coronado Springs, And we are going this October
and we are staying at the ALL STAR MUSIC RESORT.So far Dixie Landings
was the BEST!"
"Stayed at the Caribbean Beach and the Boardwalk
Villas 1998 and at the Wilderness Lodge 1999.
CB - Good for kids but noisy room 1st
night with teenage tour group having a party in pool late night, although
Disney did move us to quieter room straight away next day.
BV - Excellent but expensive, long walk
to elevators, quiet pools blissful after themeparks day
WL - Favourite Hotel, recommend Roaring
Forks for affordable family food, boat from Magic Kingdom saves a lot
of queuing for monorail at the close of fireworks." andy@dickman.u-net.co.uk
"I have stayed at the CBR, Contemporary and the
Boardwalk Inn. The Boardwalk is my all time favorite. My children are
grown so it is just my husband and I that visit now. I loved the close
proximity to EPCOT and MGM from the Boardwalk. The CMs there were wonderful,
the atmosphere was great. Our room over looked the boardwalk but unless
our balcony doors were open we didn't hear anything. I am staying at the
Poly in Oct of this year. I stay wherever I can get my CM rate. we have
never stayed there so I am looking forward to it."
"On our first trip we stayed at the Contemporary.
Our rooms were great, as was the proximity to the Magic Kingdom, but we
were disappointed in the pool....I've heard it's been refurbished since
then. Our second trip we stayed at the Polynesian. The pool and hotel
location were both great, but the rooms seemed old and musty! I've heard
that they've also been refurbished!!!! We are planning another trip in
September '99, and are getting a suite at the Boardwalk Villas....I am
a little nervous about not being on the monorail. All of our trips have
been excellent on the whole, and look forward all year long to returning!"
"I have yet to find a Disney resort I didn't love--they
all have that special magic. No matter what your budget you can have a
great time. And, with a little work, you can usually get great discounts
on all of them except the budget resorts."
" My family has visited disney world 5 years in
a row this is the first year we haven't been there. We are planning a
trip for next oct. We have only stayed at two resorts during our five
years 3x caribbean beach 2x port orleans loved both caribbean beach liked
better I guess because of the music it is very lively. Usually for 8 days
7 nights always stay on property never was disappointed. Thinking of staying
at the coronado this time."
" I really liked staying in The Contemporary Resort.
It was a great place to spend time with your family. heldman80@hotmail.com"
"My family and I have been to Disney World 7 times.
We have stayed in the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. Both were very
well decorated and clean. The rooms were spacious. I was pleased with
the rooms. The Grand Floridian has an advantage.....the monorail runs
through it. Both resorts had fine food. I have had 7 wonderful visits
and hope to have one in the future. Sarah in North Carolina"
"We've stayed in CBR, ASM and DL. DL is definitely
my favorite. The atmosphere is incredible! ASM and all the All-Star resorts
are definitely well worth the money. Its not worth it to stay off property
when you can stay on for the same price. We are going back in Nov and
are staying at CBR again(not my choice, in-laws paying)."
"We usually stay at the Grand Floridian. When we
were there in December, we only had the choice of the concierge lodge.
I was excited thinking this was going to be a new experience with lots
of extras. I was VERY disappointed. The extra cost got us a smaller room
then where we had stayed at the Grand before. We were also told that a
member of their staff would personally greet us, take us to our room,
help with our itinery, and give us a gift. None of which happened. Next
time, we will try the Polynesian."
"I have stayed at both the Port Orleans and Dixie
Landings. The Port Orleans, because it is a bit small, has a lot of charm,
is very peaceful and for some reason does not seem overrun by children.
The staff was excellent, although checking in (June) took quite a while.
I did not have very good success at Dixie Landings. I was put in
a room where they were doing construction overhead from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00
p.m. daily. When I complained (particularly about the early morning),
I ran into a particularly nasty night manager who in essence told me since
I had gotten a discount on the room I shouldn't expect too much. In the
end, I wrote to Disney in response to a survey request and was refunded
$150 total for my trouble."
"This Memorial day weekend will be my 5th trip to
Disney World in the last eight years. Dixie landings was one of the best.
We have stayed at Fairway Villas (first trip),Coronado Springs, and Caribbean
Beach. The only thing I didn't like was the additional charge for
waiter service at Coronado springs. This is definitely not acceptable.
I carried my own food to table and also dumped my own trash. I think Disney
should take a hard look at this. Like most i come from out of state and
have to fly to Disney. With the cost of airfare, taxi and admission to
parks i think Disney should really reconsider this charge."
