Day 3 (Tuesday)
Wake up late again (about 9 today) hop in the showers and do the
morning thing and have in room breakfast consisting of pop tarts
and soda. (hey, we are still in our 20’s). Go over to main
lobby and pick up our Hoop De Doo tickets for tonight. And, over
to the bus stop where we decide we will go on whichever bus we see
first (with the exception of Epcot and the water parks). Low and
Behold 20 minutes later, an MGM bus pulls up so we get onto there
along with about 25 other people (prospects aren’t looking
good here). Into MGM where the security guard stops us to ask our
names and announces that “Clint and Regina from New Jersey
just got married let’s all give them a round of applause”.
Head over to Rockin’ Roller Coaster which is terribly crowded.
You know it’s bad when you are fighting crowds underneath
the archway where the car is suspended on the track. Decide it’s
too long of a wait and consider a fast pass but the next one available
is at 4PM (WHAT ALREADY!!!) Getting frustrated, try over for Tower
of Terror where a 2 hour wait is posted. [Side note: yes, we were
there after the treacherous Easter Vacation but we later found out
that all of New England had it the week after. Everywhere we went
there was someone from Mass., New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine.]
Start to wait in it for a little while and get more frustrated and
extremely hot and decide to forgo it. At this point, we’ve
spent about an hour in the park and haven’t done anything
yet. Try to see if we can get PRs for a noon lunch at Sci Fi Dine
in but DH realizes he wouldn’t want this stuff. Get totally
frustrated and just decide to leave and head over to MK where we’ll
get some lunch and ride a “couple” of rides. On our
way out, a family stops us and is asking about our hats. We chatted
with them for a good 5 minutes and the father thought it was the
greatest thing in the world and had his kids take a picture with
us. So, we felt a little bit of the Disney Magic there and we hope
that we made someone’s vacation special. Get over there to
MK a little while later and onto Splash Mountain (about an hour
wait and FPs were up to 6PM). Now, we will attempt lunch. And oh
boy was it a valiant attempt! Try to go into Pecos Bill Café
where there are droves and droves of people on line. So, we wait
a little while on the line and realize every where is going to be
like this today so we might as well stay put. Finally get lunch
after about another hour wait and take to finding a table. Now,
if you go ALL the way towards the back of the restaurant (there
is an exit near the McDonald’s Fri truck where I’m talking
about) there were a ton of seats. Meanwhile, everyone was fighting
to sit in the front of the restaurant or sitting out on the porch.
It was great because there weren’t that many people there
and it gave us a chance to cool off and get unfrustrated. At this
point, we don’t have time for any more rides so we go back
to the room for a little siesta and shower. On the way, stop and
pick up some Fudge in the sweet shop. Now, when it comes to the
Hoop De Doo, I didn’t do my homework enough. I didn’t
plan OVER the estimate for getting there. I didn’t realize
that we should have allotted more time to get there but it ends
up being ok because we didn’t miss anything besides getting
our picture taken. We had ressie’s for the 7:30 show. So,
we hop head over to the bus stop at 6. Murphy’s Law kicks
in here and the bus arrives 20 minutes later and I think we had
the slowest driver in the history of all bus drivers in Disney.
Run to the boat dock to catch the ferry and watch it pull right
away as the CM puts the rope back up. Another ferry finally comes
along and we work our way over to Fort Wilderness where we speed
our way to Pioneer Hall behind a mass of other late people (ok,
at least we weren’t the only ones). But, they had only started
serving Salad by the time we got there so all in all we didn’t
miss anything but it was frustrating dealing with things not going
right. We sat upstairs on the balcony and got chatting with the
people next to us and we realized…these people sound like
us! Low and behold, they were also from New Jersey. It was our first
time there so we didn’t know what to expect but we loved it.
I’m not a huge BBQ fan but this food takes the cake. Although,
I pulled a lot of the BBQ sauce off of the ribs before I ate them.
Two-Bit came over and announced us as on our Honeymoon from New
Jersey. A great night and the Hoop De Doo is not to be missed! After
the Hoop De Doo, we head over to Downtown Disney to do a little
shopping before bed. Hit World of Disney and had back to the room.
Another swim in the hot tub and hit the sack.
About today: I hate people, especially when there is a lot of them.
I hope we spread the Disney Magic to that family. Naps are a wonderful
thing. Next time, plan for more time to get to Hoop De Doo. I could
go broke in World of Disney.
