Day 2 (Monday)
Slept in a little late. I think 10 we woke up and got the showers
and over to Olivia’s for breakfast. Quick bathroom break in
the room, grab some money, put on the hats (good thing I had the
leftover bobby pins from my bride gear) and head back over to the
bus stop for the Epcot Bus. As soon as the driver opens the door
and sees us, lets out a huge “Congratulations” and continues
on our way. Once we got to Epcot, we activated our passes, put our
fingers on the biometric reader thingie and head on in. CMs stop
us to get our picture taken in front (I think we were targets) and
head over to Spaceship Earth and walk on. As soon as we get to the
conveyor, CM notices us and we get another congratulations and we
get on. Now, we were there in 2000 and I could swear that I remember
reading somewhere that SE had an upgrade since we were there last
but I can’t be positive. It almost seems like it was missing
something, kind of like they took what was the “future”
and put it in the present but they didn’t replace the future
with something else. Over to Innoventions where in the home theater
the CM had everyone clap for us and wish the happy couple good luck.
And then, over to Test track where the line is a little long. So,
we decided to get a FP. While getting the FP’s CM walks up
to us and hands us a different FP for right now. And tells us to
use it and then come back with the other FP. That works for me!
CMs give us a car all to ourselves on the ride. It’s been
4 years since I had been there last but there seemed something strange
going on. We were going extremely slow while going up the hill and
the ride seemed very lethargic. Low and behold there is announcement
that the ride will be moving slow for a few minutes (had been already)
and shortly after resumes normal speed. Not to worry, we’ll
be back here again before the trip is over! Next over to Universe
Of Energy (I know, I know the name is different now but it’s
just easier this way). Another walk on and we watch the preshow
and get in the cars. We all start to move but then we just stop
and are waiting there for a good while. (what is going on today!)
CMs make an announcement that there are technical difficulties and
they will be ushering us out. One by one, they let all of the rows
off and ushered us through an emergency exit. Oh well, no biggie…we’ll
be back here later too! Now, we head on over to Journey Into Imagination
and Honey I Shrunk the Audience but make a pit stop at Ice Station
Cool along the way. Yes, we had the Italian soda again. I don’t
know why we did it. We just had to. We tired it on our last trip
in 00 and it was terrible, every report I read said not to do it
because it was terrible, but the little devils in us just had to
any way and guess what!!! IT WAS TERRIBLE. Onto Mission: Space after
that. Not on walk on here but quite a line in fact. Waited about
an hour which normally we wouldn’t do but we’ve been
anticipating this one and we want to do it on an empty stomach.
Now, DH and I are roller coaster and thrill ride nuts. I will pretty
much do anything and his feelings are that he won’t do it
if it doesn’t have breaks (IE bungy jumping) so needless to
say, NOTHING bothers us. We are very hyped up at this point and
pumped for a great ride. We get on go to space and all that other
stuff and the ride is over. After I’m off, I’m left
with this terrible feeling of “that was it?”. There
was a lot of hype about this ride and a lot of people have gotten
ill on it. Maybe I’m just so much of a roller coaster junkie
that this didn’t bother me, I dunno. But, I will admit that
I felt a little disappointed about it. Over to Electric Umbrella
for lunch and then onto World Showcase. We pretty much just strolled
through all of the countries and shops here. We usually don’t
do the movies (unless we need a nap). Into Norway where Maelstrom
was a walk on and some more browsing. Next we hit El Rio Del Tiempo
where the CM announced us as Newlyweds and had everyone clap for
us and again gave us our own boat. At this point, we are getting
kind of hungry so we head over to MK to try and get some dinner
at Liberty Tree Tavern. No PRs or anything and we are hoping for
luck now.
Get over to Magic Kingdom. Glad we didn’t come over here
today because it is packed. Our hopes for dinner at LTT are looking
grim but we try anyway. Head over to Haunted Mansion for a spin.
Walk in LTT and they tell us to just wait a few minutes and they’ll
have a table for us (wow these hats really do work). During dinner,
everyone on the side tables kept asking us a bunch of questions
about the hats and if we got married here and congratulating us,
etc. All of a sudden, a CM that is a character handler comes running
over to us at Mach 2. Even told us she spotted us from across the
building and ran to us. Starting clinking on the glasses and made
us kiss. Got everyone else involved. Made us stand up and made a
big scene. Get pics with Minnie, Chip, Dale and goofy. And, throughout
the rest of the dinner characters are coming up to us constantly.
At one point, Minnie walks away with my camera and gives it to another
person to take a picture of us together with her. It was great!
Finish dinner and dessert and had out onto the porch and spectromagic
had just finished. Fought through the crowds (we would catch wishes
later on in the trip) and made our way to the bus stop. It was pretty
late and we were still tired from all of the wedding activities
and traveling, so we just took a swim in the hot tub and hit the
sack. When we came back to our room tonight, we had a nice picture
of Cinderella and prince charming on the coffee table that was signed
saying “May all of your honeymoon wishes come true”
with some Mickey balloons.
About today: Got to hit everything we wanted in Future World and
enjoyed the casual strolling in shops and such throughout World
Showcase. I expected Mission: Space to be a lot better. These hats
are great because I’m getting treated special.
