Walt Disney World Resort Offers Enchanting Playground For Families With Preschoolers

Most everyone has a story to tell about their first Disney memory. Chances are they came to the magical world of Disney long before their sixth birthday and met Mickey, were enchanted by It's a Small World and flew high in the sky with Dumbo, the Flying Elephant.

Today, parents are more motivated than ever to bring their preschool-age children to Disney to rekindle childhood memories and create magical family traditions. Disney's timeless classics and new Disney characters are relevant to kids of all ages, especially toddlers.

"Parents tell us they want to relive their own memories through the eyes of their children when they visit Walt Disney World Resort," said Alice Norsworthy, senior vice president of business integration/product & services. "Seeing them immersed in the magic and wonder as they meet their favorite characters and experience our attractions are key reasons behind a parent's decision to vacation at Disney."

Plus, there's plenty to do. Walt Disney World Resort offers more than 66 attractions and entertainment options especially for preschoolers. In a 47-square-mile playground, infants and toddlers discover a world of fun with sure hits like Peter Pan's Flight; "Mickey's PhilharMagic"; The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh; Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin; "Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage"; "Voyage of the Little Mermaid," and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Other age-appropriate attractions include "Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3-D"; Mickey's Toontown Fair; Dumbo, the Flying Elephant; The Boneyard, Journey Into Imagination, plus daily parades, live shows and character meet-and-greets.

While youngsters are typically captivated by all of the Walt Disney World parks, guests staying on property will also find added benefits for their preschoolers. Kid-friendly amenities include themed swimming pools and kiddie pools, character meals, and "Bedtime Stories" -- Disney storytelling on in-room televisions. Resorts offer guests the Extra Magic Hour so families can spend an extra morning hour in the theme park before the park's scheduled opening time. With close proximity to the parks and Disney transportation, guests can easily return to their resort rooms for mid-day naps and breaks keeping everyone refreshed and energized. Parents wishing to escape for a night out of grown-up fun can take advantage of in-room babysitting services or fun-filled child-activity centers at several resorts.

Walt Disney World Resort strives to provide a hassle-free and memorable guest experiences for its visitors traveling with toddlers and preschoolers.

No matter what guests choose to do, they will have fun with their preschoolers if they plan ahead, pace themselves and take advantages of the many added conveniences for children ages 5 and under.

"We are confident we can deliver on the promise of a memorable vacation," said Norsworthy, also a preschooler mom. "Staying at a Disney resort provides guests with flexibility. Plus, with our baby-care services, our rider-switch program, stroller rental systems, and our 66 age-appropriate attractions, guests will discover why we rank as an ideal vacation destination for families with young children."
