"Don't forget an umbrella stroller if you have small children, preferably one with a fold down sun visor to keep the hot sun off of them. These strollers fold up nicely and don't take up TOO much room in your car - you'll be happy you brought one when your child gets tired of walking and gets sleepy and cranky!!"
"My husband & I are contact lens wearers, can't tell you how many times our EYEDROPS have saved what could have been a ruined day!"
"In order to take some of the items listed with you in the park, one needs at least 1 or 2 fanny packs. If they are big enough, you can put at least 1 bottled water in there along with your camera, extra film, money, credit cards, sunglasses, handy wipes, and ticket passes." Aleen Eller
"Cereal that comes pack with milk and plastic spoon, sandwiches, pillow, cooler with filled with juices, water, MAP"
"Extra shoes, when caught in a rainstorm, wet shoes are the worst things in the world to deal with!!! "
"You might want to bring an alarm clock so you won't have to be bothered by an annoying hotel worker for a wake up call. You also might want to bring a walk-man or a discman to listen to at the hotel or on the way there."
"A flashlight. Florida is the lightning capital of the world and when the lights go out and you are in an unfamiliar hotel room, you are gonna knock at least one shin against something you wish you remembered was there. Also, in case of an emergency and you have to evacuate, a flashlight will come in handy in dark or smoke filled hallways." BC
"Mole skin!! No matter how broken in your shoes/sandals are, (or you think they are) you can get blisters or sore spots on little toes or the back of your heels. Mole skin has been my secret to pain free feet when in Disney World." Marty
"One thing I always take is a corkscrew because i always pick up a bottle of wine for evenings sitting on the balcony."
"Instead of bringing my address book for postcards, I print out address labels and just bring the sheet. That way, when I want to send the postcards, all I do is peel off the labels. It also helps me to remember all those to whom I wanted to send WDW greetings!" J Blejwas
"'Dramamine Less Drowsy' is great for those who get motion sickness so they can ride the rides. They just have to take it an hour in advance." Linda
"Videos (in case the hotel has a VCR for the kids), juiceboxes (to freeze and take with to the parks in ziplock bags), Markers and crayons, Battery charger with rechargeable batteries." Andrea Minnies
"Be sure to take at the very least a light jacket or a sweatshirt/sweater. I can and does get cool in the evenings. My parents told me that one time at Disney when I was younger (5-8), people tried to buy the coats off of our backs because it was so cold. Disney is not much fun if you're freezing in your tank top and shorts."
"took my grand daughter i went to toys r us got a clip on umbrella for her umbrella stroller cause the one on the umbrella strollers don't shade their legs i cant tell u how many moms stopped and asked where did you get the clip on umbrella? one mom said they should sell them in disney world it all so worked when it rained we also took wash cloth in a zip locked baggie and wiped our face and necks got it cooled off in the water facets and laid it on the back of necks when my gd daughter went to sleep i laid it on her forehead and chest kept her cool it was 93 out that day."
"To help reduce that "living out of a suitcase" look, I always travel with a small spray bottle of wrinkle relaxer spray (such as Downy Wrinkle Releaser). It is so easy, dries fast, and gives clothes a fresh smell too!" LMC

Packing tips

In your hand luggage, pack medications, spare underwear, some toiletries, & any other essentials, in case your luggage goes missing.

Divide your money/traveller's cheques between your bags, then if one bag goes missing, you won't be left without money.

Coordinate your wardrobe before you go. It's no good getting there and finding out that top doesn't go with any of the skirts or pants you've brought with you!

If you roll up your clothes when you're packing they won't crease as much.

When you're packing your case, lay your long clothing (dresses, trousers) along the bottom of your case leaving the ends over the side. Lay two across in each direction. In between the layers, place your neatly-folded shirts, jumpers & T-shirts & begin the process again, layering long items & packing folded clothing in between. When you've placed all of your clothing in the case, fold over the long bits and you'll find that you have very few creases when you arrive at your destination.

Save room in your case by rolling up underwear & putting it in your shoes (the ones in the case, not on your feet!!).

Take two large suitcases with you (if the airline allows it), try to leave one fairly empty then you'll have plenty of room for the souvenirs you buy!

"no matter how nicely i pack my clothes they always end up wrinkled, and going to the disney parks hardly seems reason to get out the hotel iron and mess with all that.. so i simply hang the wrinkled clothes in the bathroom, turn on the shower as hot as it will go and shut the door for a few .... its like an instant steam iron." kungfusally@aol.com

"I pack ALL of my clothing in those huge 2 gallon ziplock baggies...really...they hold quite a few items each, then I kneel on the and zip them shut...The clothing comes out wrinkle free! It also allows more room for items and when we come home, and remover everything, I save the bags in the suitcase for use again!" Dolores
