How To Do a Weeklong Walt Disney World Vacation That is Complete And Customized, Thanks to 'Magic Your Way' Tickets

With four theme parks, two water parks, two nightlife districts, incredible resorts and countless attractions, there's easily a week's worth of fun and magic at Walt Disney World Resort.

And, beginning Jan. 2, new "Magic Your Way" tickets will allow guests to customize a weeklong dream vacation like never before with a ticket that matches their needs and desires.

With "Magic Your Way" tickets, the more you play the less you pay, with a seven-day base ticket averaging just $29 per day -- or less than half the price of a single-day ticket. That means a family of four can enjoy a weeklong Walt Disney World value vacation -- staying at a Walt Disney World value resort hotel and with tickets to all four of the theme parks -- for as little as $1,500.

And recent research shows that "more time on vacation" tops the wish list of vacationers. Thanks to "Magic Your Way," guests can stay longer, play longer and do all there is to do across the 47-square-mile resort. And they can tailor the ticket to their needs.

"People today expect the ability to customize the products they buy," said Al Weiss, Walt Disney World Resort president. " 'Magic Your Way' tickets allow guests to create a value ticket for a week of visits to the theme parks just the way they like it."

"Magic Your Way" also treats Disney resort hotel guests to exciting new benefits. The Extra Magic Hours program offers guests exclusive morning and evening time in all four theme parks.

Here's a sampling of just one of the many ways Walt Disney World guests can enjoy the diversity and relaxation of a new "Magic Your Way" vacation across seven magical days:

DAY ONE: Arrival Day/Magic Kingdom

Morning: Disney hotel check-in.

Afternoon: Welcome to Magic Kingdom! For an afternoon that is sure to jump-start the magic, begin with the afternoon character parade, "Share a Dream Come True." Then, head to Fantasyland and experience some of the all-time-favorite attractions including: Peter Pan's Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Cinderella's Golden Carrousel.

Evening: Enjoy a quiet evening at your Disney hotel. Nosh at one of the on-site dining establishments or order in-room service. Early to bed for a fresh start to Day Two!

DAY TWO: Disney's Animal Kingdom

Morning: Early risers? Why not hit your Disney hotel pool for a refreshing morning dip before heading over to Disney's Animal Kingdom? Or, look for the theme park offering Extra Magic Hours to Disney resort guests, allowing them early entry to get a jump on all the fun ahead of day guests.

Afternoon: Be sure to catch all of the Disney Animal Kingdom "must sees," including Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, "It's Tough to be a Bug!" Festival of the Lion King and DINOSAUR.

Evening: Since Disney's Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the other parks, tonight is an ideal night to dine at one of the many renowned restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort. In keeping with the day's theme, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge offers unique dining experiences at both Jiko-The Cooking Place and Boma-Flavors of Africa.

DAY THREE: Epcot

Morning: Open up the day at Epcot -- a great place to meet and greet the Disney characters caravanning throughthe park by double-decker bus. Get your motor running by riding Test Track, then soar to planet Mars on Mission: SPACE.

Afternoon: Back to Earth and back to the hotel for a swim or a much-earned afternoon nap!

Evening: Travel back to Epcot for a trip around the world! From Mexico to Morocco, Epcot World Showcase features the sights and sounds of cultures near and far. Enjoy a sit-down dinner at some of the most sought-after restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort or get a taste for all that World Showcase has to offer and nibble from country to country. Close out the night with "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" -- a dazzling display of lasers, fireworks, fountains and music.

DAY FOUR: A Day Away From the Parks

How about a round of golf or a day at the spa? Today is the day that anything goes! Lounge at the pool or snooze away the afternoon. Tonight, sign the kids up to participate in one of the Walt Disney World kid's clubs and spend the evening dining with your sweetie. Or, if you are looking for something for the whole family, catch the extraordinary entertainment experience of Cirque du Soleil® La Nouba at Downtown Disney West Side. A good 21-and-over option to close out the day: the sizzling nightlife of Downtown Disney Pleasure Island.

DAY FIVE: Disney/MGM Studios

Morning and Afternoon: Hooray for Hollywood and Disney's Hollywood Studios! Today is a full day of theme park frolicking. Not-to-be-missed attractions include The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" and "Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage!" Truly entertaining is the "Disney Stars and Motor Cars" parade -- a tribute to the golden era of Hollywood.

Evening: Nighttime is the right time for "Fantasmic!" It's a dramatic mix of fireworks, lasers, special effects and Disney characters -- a star-studded way to end the day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

DAY SIX: Water Park/Magic Kingdom

Morning: Sunscreen? Check. Shades? Check. Swimsuit? Check. Time to catch the wave to Typhoon Lagoon. Ride the rapids on Mayday Falls, swim with the fins in Shark Reef or lounge in the lazy stream at Castaway Creek.

Afternoon: Dry off and it's off to Magic Kingdom to hit the mountains of Frontierland. While there, be sure to catch Country Bear Jamboree. Other must-sees for Day Six include Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, "Mickey's PhilharMagic" and a tour through Mickey's Toontown Fair.

Evening: Things go bump in the night when you ride The Haunted Mansion after sundown. Then it's time to wish upon a star as you gaze at "Wishes," a stunning display of fireworks that comes to life through a musical narrative. A sparkling end to a magical day!

DAY SEVEN: Character Breakfast and Departure Day

Morning/Afternoon: What better way to close out the trip than with a kiss goodbye from the characters at a Walt Disney World character breakfast? Enjoy a fabulous feast and grab the last of your autographs. If time permits, head back to Magic Kingdom for one last twirl on the Mad Tea Party teacups or a last shot at the Z's on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. As you enjoy that final stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., pop into one of the shops for a photo album to hold all of your vacation memories.
