Why is the one-day ticket going up to nearly $60?
It’s important to realize that the vast majority of guests
purchase multi-day tickets, and the Magic Your Way ticket plan represents
much more than a change in single-day ticket pricing. This plan
represents the most dramatic change to Walt Disney World tickets
in decades.
We survey our guests regularly and they continue to tell us that
Walt Disney World is an exceptional value. And now that guests can
create their own tickets with “Magic Your Way,” they
can create the ticket that has the most value to them.
Why are you charging for Park-Hopping when it used to be
free?
Magic Your Way tickets now offer guests greater flexibility to customize
their tickets and choose only those benefits they want.
Guests can create a value ticket for a week of visits to theme parks,
or a premium ticket that maximizes a shorter stay, with added features
like park-hopping and water parks – or even a one-day park-hopper,
a ticket that is often requested but has never been available.
What is included in the Magic Your Way Base Ticket?
The Magic Your Way Base Ticket is the base ticket for Walt Disney
World and includes one theme park admission per day for the number
of days on the ticket, and expires 14 days from first use. It does
not include park hopping or admission to other gated attractions,
like Disney’s water parks or Pleasure Island. Only one theme
park admission may be used per day.
What if I have already booked a Dream Maker package for
an upcoming Walt Disney World vacation in 2005? Should I change
the package?
All packages purchased prior to Jan 2. 2005 will be honored.
What if I already have tickets?
If you already have tickets, perhaps unused days on four- or five-day
Park Hopper tickets from a previous Walt Disney World vacation,
you will still be able to use the remaining days left on those passes
to enter the theme parks and park hop. Guests interested in upgrading
pre-existing tickets and applying the value of the remaining days
towards the purchase of new Magic Your Way passes will be able to
do so at the ticket service locations at any of the Walt Disney
World theme parks or guest service desks at Disney onsite resort
hotels.
Are advance purchase savings still available on tickets
purchased pre-arrival?
Yes. Walt Disney World continues to offer savings on select multi-day
tickets that are purchased before a guest leaves home. Advance purchase
savings are available on tickets of 5 days or longer with the Park
Hopper and/or the Magic Plus Pack add-on.
Why aren’t the advanced purchase savings as great
with the new pricing structure as they previously were?
The savings for multi-day tickets of three or more days have been
re-worked to be included in the base price of Magic Your Way Base
Tickets.
What’s the difference between the new ticket -- the
Magic Your Way Base Ticket – and the previous Park Hopper
Ticket?
The advantage of Disney’s new ticket structure is flexibility.
Unlike Disney’s Park Hopper tickets, the new Magic Your Way
Base Ticket is available in a variety of increments – from
1 to 7 days – whereas Disney’s Park Hopper tickets are
generally only available for 4 days or more. In the past, many guests
interested in 1-, 2- or 3-day tickets did not have an option for
a Park Hopper ticket.
In addition, the per-day price of the Magic Your Way Base Ticket
is less expensive than the per-day cost of Disney’s Park Hopper
pass (ex: $54.75 per day for a 4-day Park Hopper vs. $46.25 per
day for the Magic Your Way Base Ticket). The Magic Your Way Base
Ticket does not include the ability to visit multiple parks on the
same day like Disney’s Park Hopper passes did and will expire
14 days from first use – thus the lower price point. This
lower priced ticket is ideal for guests who do not want to visit
multiple parks in the same day and who don’t plan to save
days for a future visit.
Can I use one of the extra “days” on my Magic
Your Way Base Ticket to visit another park, as an alternative to
“park hopping”?
No, guests who purchase the Magic Your Way Base Ticket will not
be able to use additional base days to visit multiple theme parks
on the same day. Only one theme park visit can be used per day.
What is the benefit of the Park Hopper option/add-on?
The Park Hopper Option allows guests to come and go as they please
through all four Walt Disney Word theme parks on the same day, for
each day of their pass. For Disney resort guests, the Park Hopper
option enables them to take full advantage of the Extra Magic Hours
benefit.
Does the Park Hopper option include the water parks and
Pleasure Island as well? Can a guest visit the Magic Kingdom and
Typhoon Lagoon on the same day?
No. The Park Hopper Option allows guests to make multiple visits
between the four Walt Disney World theme parks on the same day only.
However, guests electing to purchase the Premium Pass option –
which adds the Park Hopper option and the Magic Plus Pack to the
Magic Your Way Base Ticket – can visit the theme parks and
visit Disney water parks and other gated attractions on the same
day, based on the number of Plus visits remaining on their ticket.
What does the Magic Plus Pack option offer?
The Magic Plus Pack option allows guests to add visits to Typhoon
Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Pleasure Island and Disney’s Wide
World of Sports (excluding special events) and DisneyQuest. The
Magic Plus Pack can be added to the Magic Your Way Base Ticket for
$45, and the number of visits varies based on the length of the
ticket purchased.
Can a guest visit two other water park/entertainment options
on the same day, up to the number of Magic Plus Pack admissions
on their ticket?
Guests are allowed to visit as many Magic Plus Pack venue options
in any one day as they desire, up to the number of Plus visits on
their ticket.
Previously, the only ticket available within an onsite
package was a length-of-stay ticket. Has that changed with your
new ticket structure?
The new ticket structure has been designed so that the savings increase
with each day that’s added, and to offer enhanced flexibility
for clients. Therefore, guests now have the option to select a ticket
length that best fits their vacation plans…not one that’s
driven by the number of nights they’re staying at a Disney
Resort. However, there is a requirement for guests selecting the
Magic Your Way Premium Package that the length of their ticket match
the number of nights of the resort stay plus one day.
What about guests electing to stay offsite? Are their ticket
options driven by the number of nights they plan to stay in Central
Florida?
As with onsite stays, the new ticket structure has been designed
so that the savings increase with each day that’s added. The
primary focus, however, is flexibility for guests. Therefore, guests
now have the option to select a ticket length that best fits their
vacation plans.
Once purchased, how long is a ticket good for if a guest
does not elect to opt for the No-Expiration option?
Magic Your Way Base Ticket expire 14 days from first use.
If the “No-Expiration” option is added to a
Magic Your Way Base Ticket with the Magic Plus Pack option, are
other gated attractions, such as water parks, also covered by the
No-Expiration option?
Yes, if a guest elects to add the “No-Expiration” option
to a Magic Your Way ticket with the Magic Plus Pack option, their
visits to other gated attractions, such as water parks, will not
expire. However, for those who do not purchase the no-expiration
option, all park admissions and visits, including water parks, will
expire 14 days from first use.
Can a guest upgrade an existing ticket? Can a Park Hopper
ticket purchased before these new tickets were introduced be upgraded?
In general, guests can upgrade to any type of ticket, provided the
new ticket is of equal or greater value than the old ticket by simply
paying the difference. However, no refunds will be issued if the
new ticket is of lesser value. So, yes, guests who purchased Walt
Disney World tickets before the new Magic Your Way tickets became
available will have the option to upgrade to a new pass.
What is the cost to upgrade a ticket by adding more theme
park days?
The cost of additional days is based on the price difference between
the existing ticket and the gate price of the new ticket. For example,
to upgrade an adult 5-day Disney’s Park Hopper ticket purchased
with advance purchase savings for $259 to a new adult 7-day Disney’s
Magic Your Way Ticket with Park Hopper option and Magic Plus Pack
option ($279) would cost $20.
I bought a park hopper at a discount through AAA. Will
I pay more to upgrade my ticket?
No. Upgrades will always be based on the retail value of the ticket.
How does the No-Expiration Option work?
The No-Expiration Option can be added to any ticket at a cost of
$10-$55, depending on the length of the Magic Your Way ticket. Because
Magic Your Way Base Tickets expire 14 days after first use, adding
this option allows guests to save unused days and visits for a later
time, or on a future visit.
What about down-grading a ticket? Can a previously purchased
ticket be reduced in length, or can a Park Hopper option be exchanged
for the new Magic Your Way Base Ticket, and are refunds available
to compensate for a lower price?
In general, guests can change to any type of ticket. However, no
refunds will be issued if the new ticket is a lower price.
Will Walt Disney World tickets purchased years ago still
be honored?
Walt Disney World will continue to honor all tickets purchased prior
to the announcement of this new pricing structure.
What tickets can be purchased pre-arrival?
Any ticket from 1- to 7-days in length can be purchased pre-arrival.
This is an enhancement that’s been made with the new pricing
structure.
Which pre-arrival tickets feature Advance Purchase Savings?
Advance Purchase Savings are only available on the following tickets
that are purchased pre-arrival: 5-, 6- and 7-Day Magic Your Way
tickets that include the Park Hopper option and/or Magic Plus Pack
option; 5-, 6-, and 7-day Magic Your Way Premium Tickets.
Is Advance Purchase Savings available on 5-, 6-, or 7-Day
Magic Your Way Base Tickets? Is Advance Purchase Savings also available
if the No-Expiration Option is added to the 5-, 6-, or 7-Day Magic
Your Way Base Tickets?
The Magic Your Way Base Tickets do not include Advance Purchase
Savings, even if the Non-Expiration option is added. Advance Purchase
Savings are only available on the following tickets that are purchased
pre-arrival: 5-, 6- and 7-Day Magic Your Way Tickets that include
the Park Hopper option and/or Magic Plus Pack option; 5-, 6-, and
7-day Magic Your Way Premium Tickets.
Can a special event ticket like Mickey’s Very Merry
Christmas Party be added to any of the new Magic Your Way Tickets?
No. Special events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
or Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party require “hard
tickets” that are sold separately and cannot be added on.
These hard tickets can, however, be purchased through the online
Disney ticket store.
