Disney's Black Heritage Celebration (February)

A celebration of African-American achievement, music, dance and cuisine at the Walt Disney World Resort. See live appearances by top-name African-American performers.

 

Mardi Gras (February)

At Downtown Disney Pleasure Island. The most authentic Mardi Gras celebration this side of New Orleans. An original Mardi Gras parade Krewe, Dixieland Jazz and Zydeco bands, Cajun cuisine.

 

Easter

The daily parade at the Magic Kingdom is replaced with the Happy Easter Parade, which is televised. Easter egg hunts take place at various locations, & Easter dinners are available at many of the restaurants. More info...

 

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival (April to June)

Beautiful Character topiaries and millions of colorful blooms. Seminars by renowned gardening experts. Exclusive "Disney" gardening tips. Daily "hands-on" demonstrations and guided tours. Nightly entertainment at the American Gardens Theatre. More info...

At Disney-MGM Studios. Relive the excitement of the entire Star Wars™ saga. More info...

 

4th July

July 4th is one of the busiest days of the year at WDW, with the parks having extended opening hours. At the Magic Kingdom, a special red, white & blue fireworks display takes place, with fireworks going off all around the park. Epcot sees a special patriotic performance of IllumiNations, with a spectacular grand finale lighting up the sky in red, white & blue. Celebrations start early at Downtown Disney, beginning on July 3rd & running up to midnight & into July 4th.

 

Night of Joy (September)

At the Magic Kingdom Park. Contemporary Christian music groups perform (separate admission required). More info...

 

Latin Rhythm Nights (September)

At Downtown Disney Pleasure Island. Live Latin Jazz, Salsa and Pop by great Latin artists. Latin food, decor and a Spanish-speaking DJ.

 

Halloween

Halloween sees a special hard-ticketed event in the Magic Kingdom - Mickey's Not-So-Scray Halloween Party. Enjoy trick-or-treating, storytellers, a special Halloween parade, special fireworks, face painting, children's costume parade, & lots more. You'll also find your favourite Disney characters dressed in Halloween costumes. More info...

 

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival (October to November)

Celebrating food, beverages and cultures from around the world. Guests will experience the authenticity and flavours of over 30 nations. More info...

 

ABC Super Soap Weekend (November)

At Disney-MGM Studios. The ultimate soap fan experience featuring the largest showcase of ABC's soap stars anywhere. More info...

 

Festival of the Masters (November)

At Downtown Disney Celebrating its 26th year, this festival presents superlative artwork, unique food offerings, a variety of musical entertainment and children' activities.

 

Thanksgiving

Traditional Thanksgiving dinners are served in many restaurants throughout WDW.

 

Christmas

Walt Disney World is transformed into a Christmas wonderland from Thanksgiving onwards. Huge Christmas trees & garlands decorate the parks, even the resorts are decorated for Christmas. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a hard-ticketed event held at the Magic Kingdom on selected nights in late November/early December. Visitors to the party can enjoy live Christmas shows, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade, a special fireworks show, free hot chocolate, cookies, a souvenir button & family photo. You'll also find your favourite Disney characters dressed in festive costumes, such as 'Santa Goofy'. It even 'snows' on Main Street! Epcot celebrates with 'Holidays Around the World', with a daily tree lighting ceremony, the Lights of Winter, holiday IllumiNations & the Candlelight Processional. At Disney-MGM Studios visitors can see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights, which features over fur million lights - a sight not to be missed! Santa can be found at Downtown Disney, along with tree-lighting ceremonies & an outdoor ice rink. See the Christmas page for more info & photos.

 

New Year's Eve

The four main parks have extended opening hours on New Year's Eve, where you can celebrate with special fireworks shows, dance parties & other live entertainment. Pleasure Island celebrates with a 'Real New Year's Eve' street party, featuring champagne, buffet, & celebrity performers. A special ticket is required for the party. Selected WDW resorts also celebrate the occassion with special dance parties & balls. Swing in the New Year Event at Atlantic Dance on Disney's BoardWalk Resort.
