"Our family was at MGM on Valentines day this year and at 30 min
past every hour all of the couples were at the hat. Milo and Kia
Mary Poppins and Bert, all of the Princes and Princesses. Every
one you could think of. It was a madhouse. Our girls
loved it." Theresa
"My boyfriend and I went to MGM in April of 2005. We
were waiting in line to meet Stitch (my favorite character). Adam,
my boyfriend, was eating popcorn. When we got up to Stitch,
Stitch took the popcorn and tried to eat some. Adam then
took it back and said no to Stitch, Stitch then 'Cried' on
my shoulder. We got our picture and autograph and said our
good byes. Later on in the afternoon we went to see the Stars
and Motor Cars parade. When the Lilo and Stitch car went
by us Stitch noticed us, pointed to us and rubbed his hand around
in a circle on his stomach as to say 'where's the
popcorn?' I yelled to him that we ate it all. He
then put his hands in a fist and rubbed his eyes as if to dry the
tears. I will never forget that day." Chrissie Brown

"We first saw Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) at the Akershus Restaurant
in Norway at Epcot. Unfortunately, she didn't have the
chance to stop at our table.
Which was a bit disappointing. But luckily we would meet her soon.
In Dec. 2005 I noticed that Sleeping Beauty was in the French Pavilion in the
garden.
She had her beautiful pink gown on. You just couldn't miss her! So we
all ran over to her.
We were all so excited! The children finally had the chance to meet the lovely
princess. Gracefully, she kneeled down and allowed Tristan and Shea to sit on
her lap for the picture, than she stood up and took them by the hand for the
next picture. She was very friendly, and gracious with Tristan and Shea. This
moment was definitely one of my favorites! Something that I will never forget."
"Ever since I was a little girl I liked Minnie Mouse and wanted
to meet her at Disney World. That didn't happen until I was 11.
It was our first day and we were in the Magic Kingdom and we went
up to the castle and saw characters- and there was Minnie! I was
so excited, and we got in line, and my sisters let me go before
them and I got her autograph and a picture with her. I had a special
time with a lot of other characters, but Minnie is the most special
to me."
"I love tinkerbell and two years ago went on vacation with my
relatives and immediate family. we were getting autographs
from Peter Pan, Wendy, Smee and Captain Hook when suddeny Smee
began tapping furiously on Capt. Hook and pointing at me. I
had on a Tinkerbell tank top, and Hook realized he was using a
Tink pen to sign autographs. He grabbed me and Showed me
his hook threateningly while Smee acted smug and proud. Wendy
and Pan laughed as well as everyone else in line, then Peter Pan
threatened Hook and they sneered at each other while i got a picture. It
was awesome and incredible and only intensified my love for Disney,
Peter Pan, and most importantly all things Tinkerbell."
"This was my second time at Disney World and I was looking for
Jafar. He's my ultimate favorite Disney character! We went to Disney
MGM Studios and we asked workers to find out when will he be appearing.
They told us he'd be out at 3:30ish in Crossroads Of The World
but the workers there said he never comes out for meet and greet
often because most people didn't like bad guys. My mom told them
we came all the way from Maine just to see him. They arranged a
private greeting for us to meet Jafar at 5:00 after the parade!
Then they went to get us and I saw Jafar come out! I had no fear!
I just ran to him, called out his name and told him he's always
been my favorite Disney character ever sence I was a little girl.
I saved the first page of my autograph book just for him. After
he signed it, I told him that I love him. He was being mean to
me at first but when I gave him a hug, he started being nice to
me and took me gently! My mom and the workers were so happy,
they took lots of pictures of me with Jafar! ^_^ Here's a suggestion,
if you love the Disney Villains but they don't want to coroperate
with you, try giving them a hug and see what happens!"

"I was at Disney in 2003 and I met so many characters. I was 24
at the time and I went for my 24th birthday with my mom. We went
to Crystal Palace for breakfast where they have Winnie the Pooh
characters, Tigger came up to me and put his hand on his heart
like he was in love, and pretended to faint. Later when I was eating
he came up to the table, and put his arms around my neck and purred
in my ear. Then he continued to make kissing noises on my face,
went down to sit beside my mom and point at me and whisper to her
that he was in love. I had a boyfriend at the time, and my mom
said, thats my little girl Tigger, and I dont know if tigers are
her type, and Tigger pretended to cry. Then there was a little
parade around the restaurant, and Tigger had his sign that said
Hip, and the other characters had Hooray and other such words,
anyway, he stopped the parade at my table and all the little kids
bumped into him and he gave me the Hip sign after he pointed at
it and then at me. It was pretty silly.
I also met Peter Pan by Pirates of Caribbean and he told me that I should become
a princess and live in the castle. Tweedle Dee and Dum were by the teacups, and
Dum started to walk with me to the teacup ride, and Dee got all mad, and put
his hands on his hips everyone in the line was laughing. Alice and the Madhatter
posed with me for a pic. Chip and Dale tugged me back and forth over who could
pose in the pic with me. The Fairy Godmother complimented my necklace, Snow White
asked me where I was from, Goofy pretended to blush when I met him. All in all
it was a pretty fun and pretty enjoyable trip, the characters pay just as much
attention to the grownups as they do the children."

"I was 8 years old when I visited Disney in August
of 97. This was the year that "Hercules" was released and I loved
it. Ofcourse my favorite in the movie was Meg, and I was a little
disappointed when I couldn't find Meg. However I did meet Herc
himself. He told me to find Meg I would have to ask a CM. I did
only to find out she wasn't coming out again that day. The CM asked
me my name which i found strange and told to watch the Little Mermaid
show. After the show I browsed the shop outside when somebody tapped
my shoulder. I turn around to hear "Are you Nicole?" It was Meg!!
That's probably the most magical character moment to date for me.
But I'm only 16 maybe there's more to come!!"

"in july of this year we went to tommorrowland to find
some characters we found Buzz Lightyear and Stitch they were both
very cool i had on a new Buzz Lightyear locket! (i
had purchased it the night before) i showed it to Stitch first
but Buzz was a different story! i showed it to him he put
his thumb up he was so excited he forgot to stamp my book (!) than
he began admiring himself in a mirror he was making muscles
and all kinds of other poses."
-Kaysee age 12
"once in tomorrowland when i was 10 me and my mum were looking
for Buzz Lightyear i asked my mom where he was she said"i dont
think he's over here sweetheart" than we finnaly found him! (by
his ride) it was soooooooooooooo hot that he looked like he was
about to keel over! when it was y turn i hugged him kissed him
stamped my book and we took a picture but than Buzz got really
close to me jammed his fists in his hips and shooks his head his
head rattled a little it was so funny! he also blew me a kiss when
i was leaving."
"My favorite character experience was when I was in Animal Kingdom.
We were just about to leave and I had to stop at the water fountain
near the main gate.( It was really hot!)My family was leaving.
And all of a sudden all of these characters piled out from behing
this gate! My family turned around to see where I was and they
saw me with chip N Dale and Minnie! It was a blast and I will never
forget my experience!"

"I was in the college program a while back and constantly
went to MK on my days off. Being a 20 year old with a well-established
reputation, I was at first hesitant to get my pictures taken with
the characters, but after a while I figured 'why not?' and got
my first picture with Chip and Dale, they didn't really do anything
with me, but they were making fun of Minnie, because everybody
was in her line, then Chip stole somebody's frito's. After that
I got pictures with everybody I could find, but I was saving my
last picture for Robin Hood (He's my favorite) so after about a
week of calling the character hotline and getting denied my picture,
I finally used it up at Fantasmic! (Best show by the way, EVERYBODY
should see it). Two days later, I went back to MK, and after the
parade, I got in line for the Space Ranger spin, when I look to
my left and see a high chair with a balloon on it, and whose name
is on the balloon but Robin Hood? So I got out of the line and
went to see the Cinderella show again, waiting for my favorite
character to come out when the show ended. When I got in line to
see him, I remembered I didn't have a camera, needless to say I
was ticked off to say the least, but I got to hug him and get his
autograph. That is my favorite Character experience, the day that
my Robin Hood picture got away."

"In August of 2003 I took my twin daughters to WDW for their
5th birthday. The whole trip was great. On the day of their birthday
we had breakfast in the castle and Snow White and Belle sang Happy
Birthday to them and helped blow out their candles! After breakfast
we decided to go to Adventureland. There we saw Aladin and Genie.
We were first in line. When it was the girls turn, Aladin saw that
the girls had on a 'It's my Birthday" button, so he picked
up both girls and turned towards the crowd of people waitng in line
and said "Hey everyone, this is Erin and Georgia and today
is their birthday, everyone say Happy Birthday" It was great.
We had a great experience with all of the characters, but that just
stands out in my mind."
"I have been to WDW 7 times so far and I am always surprised
by how the characters go out of their way to make your visit very
special, I was 30 years old at the time and just got out of a bad
marriage and I decided one day to just go to WDW by myself. Well
the day after I arrived, I went to Disney MGM and had breakfast
at the Caffeteria, when Pluto came to my table and hugged me and
gave me a lick on the face. It really made me laugh as well as feel
good inside. I now tell my kids about it. I, my wife, and our 3
children are going to WDW in October and I can't wait to see the
magic in thier eyes. Walt Disney World is truly a very magical place."

"Our family was spending a week at Disney at Port Orleans
Riverside. We were over at MK and watching Wishes. When that got
done we were exiting the park, there was Mickey at the train station.
That night i vowed i was going to meet and greet Mickey. The next
day we went to Animal Kingdom, i met Mickey, but i wasn't satisfied
because Mickey din't put his arm around me. The next day we went
to Epcot, and right when we got there, Mickey came out and i got
my photo with him. He even put his arm around me. (If Mickey weren't
married to Minnie I would marry him.) Our family is going back next
year."
"Our family just returned from a week in WDW in May of 04.
For dinner our last night there, we ate at Cinderella's Royal Table.
After our meal, we were walking down the castle steps to the lower
level, when Hannah (our 8 year old) started crying. She knew we
were going back to the hotel room to pack to go home the next morning.
When Hannah reached the bottom of the stairs, her face was red and
tears were running down her cheeks. She looked up and there was
Cinderella sitting in her big throne-chair. Cinderella noticed Hannah
crying and aked:"What's wrong Princess?" Through her tears,
Hannah told her that she had so much fun this week that she didn't
want to leave! Cinderella asked her to sit with her in her royal
chair for a while. She even remembered that Hannah had celebrated
her birthday at Cinderella's breakfast 6 days earlier! She cheered
Hannah up, gave her a kiss on the cheek, and told her she hoped
to see her again next year! Hannah quit crying and gave her a big
hug. This was truly a magical moment! (Rocky Top)"
"Well when i was last in WDW I met Wendell. I was just sitting
down getting rest and eating an ice cream. Well Wendell wanted it.
He took it out of my hand and tried to eat it. He also did that
with my pen after he sigmed my book. it was so funny he didn't want
to give me back my pen or ice cream. Yet i did get them both back."
"In the summer of 2003, my family went to Disney World, and
on the first day which was in the Magic Kingdom, I was waiting in
line for Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Genie. They saw me, and thought
I was Peter Pan (I have red hair). When it was my turn, my picture
pose was the Peter Pan pose, 'cause Aladdin and Genie asked me to
make the pose, and Jasmine was all like, "Hey, you've grown,
have'nt you." That was a cool experience."
"We were at Disneyworld for Thanksgiving 2002. This was my
3 year olds first trip. The first day she would have nothing to
do with the characters. On the second day we went to Chef Mickey's
for breakfast. Because of the time and patience of the characters,
by the time we left she was no longer frightened. By the end of
the the trip she was a pro at finding characters and jumping into
line! "
"I was at WDW last January of 2004, and I was at Magic Kingdom..
You know spending my time and feeling like a kid again even though
I am (16 years old) anyway I was in Adventure land when I saw Aladdin.
I swear I just ran into the line to get an autograph. (He is my
favorite character.) Then it was my turn, the lady behind me took
my picture and I gave Aladdin a kiss and the he gave me a kiss.
And that was my favorite part being at WDW."
"Stitch Is My ULTIMATE FAVORITE CHARACTER,So My Family Went
To The MGM Studios.I Was Walking To Tower Of Terror And That Rascal
Snuck Up On Me!
It Was A Great Photo Op!My Sister Had Worn A Blue Scrunchie,So Stitch
Had Some Fun With Her!"
"When I was @ MK last, 2003 I had a funny meeting w/ Peter
Pan and Wendy. You see i am 22 and i still love meeting the characters.
You see I was waiting to meet Belle. Well Peter and Wendy came out
to where I was. Peter took my autograph book and started to jump
around. You see my book has Pooh on it and is fuzzy, Peter loved
it so much he wanted to keep it, but Wendy made him give it back
to me" Amy Frontera
"My family and I went to the most magical place on earth for
the first time last year. I made reservations ahead of time to eat
in Cinderella's Castle. Knowing it was my 5 year old daughters favorite
character, I thought she would love it. Her eyes lit up when she
saw Cinderella come down the staircase. She was shy at first to
talk to her. Cinderella came over to her after talking to all of
the other kids and asked her to sit on the thrown with her. She
was so excited. My daughter came back to me and told me what Cinderella
said and that her mice were watching over us. (Look up, you will
see them!) I turned to my husband to tell him about their conversation
when I noticed our daughter laying on the ground. She was looking
at Cinderella's feet under her dress. She ran back to us screeming,
"Mom she does have glass slippers!" It is a moment I will
never forget. One I will never let her forget either!!!"
"I recently came back from my third WDW trip in Jan. The very
first day I was there, proved to me that great things were bound
to come. My friends and I were in AK and we were headed towards
the exit when we noticed a sign that said there was a meet and greet
with pooh. It seemed to us that everyone was passing the sign without
noticing it, so we decided to take a look to see if the characters
were still there. From far off we saw a big orange figure and we
new it was Tigger! Pooh was there too and we all had our own little
private session with them b4 the little kids came. Pooh and Tigger
both got in the picture and gave us all high fives. It was very
cool. That same trip, I met my favorite character Mulan. She was
of course in China in the theatre. It ended a 4 year search for
her. Unfortunaely I forgot my autograph book at home, but did manage
to get a picture with her!"
"I went to The MK in February 2004. I'm 27 years old I've
waited a looong time to go there, and I felt like a kid when I finally
did! The first character I met was Alice, and she was very sweet.
Upon hearing her English accent, I got all tongue-tied trying to
talk, I must've turned red in the face! The last I met before leaving
the park was Princess Jasmine. Although, a well-dressed man cut
in front of me to say Hello to and give her a hug. After he left,
I acted all 'sulky', pouted, and said to her "Is it my turn
now?"
"Awww. Yes, it's your turn", she smiled. She signed my
autograph book and my girlfriend took the nicest photo of Jasmine
and I, with her arm wrapped around mine!"
"One of my favorite Disney characters is Captain Hook(he's
my favorite villian). So imagine my surprise when we went to Disney
World in March 2002. We were watching the "Share a Dream Come
True" parade when all of a sudden Captain Hook pointed for
me to come towards him for a picture when he came around. He must've
known I was a fan of his! Hook rocks!"
"I shall always
remember my first meeting with Cinderella. I was a single guy, 22
at the time and I always wanted to eat at (what was then) King Stefan's
Banquet Hall--my parents had taken me to WDW twice before but we
never ate there--these were the days where you waited for park opening
and dashed to the castle for a reservation.
I had collected some autographs before--and all the characters were
VERY nice, sweet, and funny. After finishing lunch, I headed downtairs
and was informed Cinderella would soon be there.
I had stuck to the animal characters so far, no open-faced ones,
so I thought, "Why not?" Down the spiral staircase glided
Cinderella. Wow! She was so beautiful, that I actually got goosebumps
when she arrived. Hats off to Disney's costume makers!
This is silly, I thought. A grown guy getting goosebumps over some
character. Well, I let the kids go first whilst debating if I should
stay. Oh geez, I thought, I should be extra polite since I'm a grownup.
Then my turn came. I took a deep breath and bowed low. "Good
afternoon, Your Majesty." I said. "May I please have your
autograph?"
Well, in character, folks, Cinderella looked flattered that a guy
should bow. She took my autograph book and signed. My heart was
pounding! I believed in this place and who Cinderella was here.
It was like I was 5 years old again. After a litle bit, Cinderella
handed back my book and I bowed again, thanking her. *sigh* I floated
out of there, folks. That Prince Charming is one lucky guy!
So, try bowing to the princesses! Show some royal respect and see
what happens! Good Luck!
And BTW, Thank you Cinderella! You made my week at Disney!"
"I just want
to say that I am currently in my 2nd College Program and that for
me, Characters make the difference at Walt Disney World. If it were
not for the Characters, Walt Disney World would just be another
amusement facility. Probably one of my greatest character memories
is with Chip and Dale at Mickey's Toontown Fair when they foraged
my backpack for some goodies but unfortunately, I had none. Another
time, my short-term girlfriend Anne and I went to go see Cinderella
(also at Mickey's Toontown Fair). Cinderella asked Anne if I was
her prince and she said "For the time being". Cinderella
looked puzzled but both Anne and I knew the real story.
Anyways, Characters, like I said, really do have the most important
job at WDW because they both internally and externally represent
the magic. I really want to audition for Characters at the end of
my program. I just hope I have what it takes!"
"We were in
the Animal Kingdom in 2002 when I had my best experience. It was
our first trip and needless to say we were very excited. As Lilo
and Stitch had just come out on video it was one of our favorites.
Imagine my face when I saw both of them standing outside one of
the shops. I waited in line for a while and the attendant said they'd
only be around for another minute or so. I was the last one able
to see them before they left. I ran up to get my picture taken.
As Lilo signed my book Stitch began to examine the pin lanyard around
my neck. Upon not seeing a pin of himself he threw the pins back
at me in disgust. It made a great picture and still keeps me laughing."
" In the Spring
of '03 my friend and I were in the Magic Kingdom waiting in line
to meet Meeko from Pocahontas. We were taking in the atmosphere
and talking and when it became our turn we noticed that Meeko wasn't
there. We were quite confused until he jumped out from behind a
trashcan startling everyone in line. Meeko then proceeded to play
with my friend's hair and stole a candy apple from my bookbag (I
didn't even know he had it until the person behind me in line said
so). Although there was a long line Meeko made it a point to have
fun with every guest and provide a magical experience." -Dan,
PA
"My magical
character moment was two years ago at Epcot. I'm no longer a little
kid - I was 19 at the time. We were wandering around the Morrocco
pavilion and all of a sudden I spotted Aladdin in the one room -
all alone! So, naturally we went in, and I met with him for a good
5-10 minutes, got a picture, and he was almost "flirting" with me!
I was in love - he looked just like Ricky Martin!!! From then on,
I have had an Aladdin obsession - he's my boyfriend! I had to go
out and buy all the Aladdin merchandise I could get my hands on."

"Back in sept
2000 just after 911 I had a chance to take my wife and son to Disney
just before being activated in the military. It was my son's first
Disney experience. We happened to be in at the Animal kingdom that
day and my son being (5) was more than excited as we walked to great
the characters at camp Minnie Mickey we stopped at a line to meet
pluto and my son went up to get his autograph pluto then chased
my son in a circle caught him and put a huge kiss on his head. That
made me feel that my country is the greatest place on earth and
I am proud to do my part to keep us safe."
"When visting
AK, Chip 'frisked' my 6 foot little brother before he would allow
us entry into the park. When we were leaving both Chip and Dale
were wrapping each other up with the ropes from queue boundary poles.
They must have recognised my brother and proceeded in tying him
up and pulling him around the entrance area. All the kids were laughing
and we got some great pictures.
Had a brilliant experience with Goofy in MK also. After watching
the show at the Castle, we thought that it was too busy to meet
the characters so we started to move on. As we were walking away,
Goofy came running after us. You see my dad is in a wheelchair and
I think Goofy jsut wanted to say hi. He was all over my dad and
so were all these kids trying to get near Goofy. I didn't think
characters would actively seek visitors but we were glad they do
as it made my dad's day and it was all he could talk about! "

"My family
and I visit Disney often, and we always leave feeling special, but
on one of our trips this summer I saw Genie (from Aladdin) standing
in Epcot. I approached him, and handed him my autograph book. He
took it and signed it, but he also drew an awesome picture of Genie
in it. I felt very special that he would take the time to draw that
for me in my autograph book. :) "
"My aunt is
deaf and we "sign" in our family often. When my daughter was a darling
four year old, we were at a luau and Minnie was there, because she
doesn't speak, Sarah told her that she could teach her to tell children
that she loved them and then signed "I love you" to Minnie. Days
later at a parade, Minnie recognized Sarah, signed, "I love you",
took her by the hand into the parade and walked hand-in-hand with
Sarah for blocks! What a thrill for all of us!"
"I had been
a big Disney fan ever since I was little girl. Unfortunately my
parents are not the type that like the heat so we never went to
Disney World before. I finally made plans to go with my three best
friends in the summer of 2001. I was so excited that Disney was
all I talked about for an entire year. Now I love Mickey, every
time I see his face on any kind of merchandise, I come up with a
big smile, so you can imagine how excited I was when I was about
to meet Mickey for the very first time. We had all gone to Chef
Mickey's Character Breakfast. I had a plate full of food, but I
was just too nervous (if you can believe that) to touch any of it.
I noticed all of the characters were starting to go around. When
Minnie got to my table, one of my friends said to her while pointing
at me "she's in love with your boyfriend Minnie." I was so embarassed
merely because both characters are fictional and that sounded stupid.
All Minnie could do was stare and me and point at me gesturing that
I was to leave him alone! Finally she went to another table and
I started to yell at my friend when all of a sudden I hear a BIG
kissing noise and feel some"one" on my cheek. Low and behold it
was Mickey!! I was so excited that my voice became higher and I
started talking like a little child! My friends caught my reaction
on tape and I look at it every so often to remind myself of the
day I met Mickey!"
"It was great.
We were in line for Timon and Rakifi in adventure land while my
mom was in the restroom. When the person in front of us got done
with there picture, it was me and my brothers turn. My brother was
hanging on my leg real tight. Timon and Rakifi were teasing my brother,
before we got our picture. While there doing this my uncle is taping
it and talking to the attnedent. As we walked away we saw my mom,
she had been watchin. Then suddnely Rakifi and Timon comes up behind
her and starts dancing wtih her. She will never forget it."

"I had a special
experience with characters, but it was a behind the scenes experience.
I worked at WDW in 2001 doing the college program. One day I was
having a horrible day. It was raining, I had gotten in trouble with
my manager, and my best friend/roommate and I had had a fight. So
I was backstage near the character bungalows just feeling sorry
for myself almost on the verge of tears when Mickey came out. When
he saw how sad I looked he stopped to see what was wrong. Donald
Duck soon showed up and I told them every thing that happened and
they gave me a big hug and we joked around until they had to go
out. It made me feel alot better. Backstage interaction with the
characters in the parks is even more fun. I once even saw Pinnochio
and Mickey dancing the Macarena in the tunnels under the Magic Kingdom!"
"My family
just got back from WDW and we met 48 different characters. We were
in Animal Kingdom when all of a sudden Baloo came running up behind
us and started playing with my kids(13, 9, 5). He took my 13 year
old's backpack off and started going through it throwing everything
out hunting something to eat we told the kids. Amber (my 13 year
old) did not know what to do or how to take it, but my 9 year old
Caleb, got the pen and hid it from Baloo playing with him, turning
the tables so to speak. They are memories that will last a lifetime!!!!"
The Tipton's from Alabama.
"Visited MGM
Studios on 12/11/02. No times posted for the Monsters Inc. characters.
While my kids were on Star Tours with my husband, I wandered over
and found the characters were out. I asked when they would be out
again and was told 4:40 and 5:40. Went back at 5:40 and no characters
to be found. Donna, the coordinator for the event, saw us and explained
that normally they are out at 5:40, but today they would not be
returning. I expressed our disappointment since I was told earlier
to return at that time. Donna invited us to return the following
morning before the scheduled appearance and our family got to enjoy
a private character greeting with Mike and Sully! No other people,
closed doors, just us! Talk about special!"
"The Characters
are all so great at understanding the needs of a sibling!! My youngest
son has heart and lung disease and thus a lot of Disney time is
spent on what he wants to do and the characters just make him smile
and smile. We met with Goofy and Donald in Toontown in a back room
and Zakki smiled for the first time in 6 months after extended and
repeated hospital ICU stays but even with that phenomenal memory
there is one i have when Minnie kissed my older one (16) on the
head and i got a picture of it that was really special!!" stephanie

"We went to
WDW in December of 2001. Went to MGM right when it opened and did
Minnie's character Breakfast. My daughter was scared of the characters,
so only had her picture taken with Minnie because I held her. On
the way to the Great Movie Ride we went by Mickey's theater. It
was 10:30 and supposedly didn't open until 10:45. Well he was there,
and no lines. My son went in, had his picture taken and talked with
him. My daughter didn't want to go on so just waved from the sidewalk.
That wasn't good enough for Mickey so he came out to the street
to great her. We explained about her being scared, and he worked
until she held his hand and took a picture. We got it on tape and
it was the best moment of the trip. Every cast member couldn't believe
it since Mickey NEVER leaves his area. Also the whole trip she would
go up the mickey and minnie, but not any of the other characters."
" i recently
took a plane trip to disney world with my father and his family
about 3 years ago, and i had a ball. the first park we went to was
the magic kingdom. when we got there, i dashed right to the toontown
hall of fame at mickey's toontown fair. i met my favorite female
character, minnie mouse. when i came face to face with her my eyes
twinkled like 2 bright stars in the midnight sky. she was so beautiful.
i think i was in love. my father got about three pictures of me
with her. his wife took 2 pictures of me with chip and dale. they
were really funny guys. i hope on my next trip, i get to meet my
homeboys, the three little pigs."
"We are from
the UK and visited WDW in August 2002. Our 10 year old son is disabled
and loved meeting as many characters as possible. One day we were
at MK and our 14 year old son took his brother to see Merlin's show
whilst we were looking in the castle shops. When we met up with
then our sons were soooo excited, after Merlin's show Merlin had
come up to both boys and asked them to go on Snow Whites Ride with
him. This was really magical for both of them! and something that
no-one else had done. Thanks Merlin!"
"The best
ever character experiences I've ever had always involved Chip and
Dale, mostly because they're my favorites but also because they
have such great personalities. When I was little I used to always
bring my stuffed Chip and Dale into the park with me and carry them
around all day. Whenever I'd meet the "real" chipmunks they always
had so much fun playing with my stuffed animals. When I got older
I still did it, much to my older sisters chagrin! When I was in
middle school I went on a trip to WDW with the school choir, with
out my family. My mom almost cried when she put me on the bus, we
were both so upset. I didn't take my chipmunks because I was afraid
of losing them or being laughed at by my friends. When I saw Chip
and Dale in the parks I ran to them to have my picture taken with
them to show my mom. I actually explained to the actors that this
was my first trip with out my mom and family and how sad I was she
wasn't there. They made a big fuss over me and even "cried" over
it. The escort took tons of pictures. It was great."
"One of the
best places to meet characters in in a Disney resort. This March
we stayed at the polynesian and our three children had quite a good
visit with Captain Hook and his crew. This was perfect for my 5
& 6 year old boys who just love Peter Pan. One of the benifits of
staying in the park and quite a treat."
"The best
thing that happened to me was at Cinderella's Royal Table, at the
Magic Kingdom. At the breakfast I met Cidnerella, Snow White, Prince
Charming, Princess Aroura, and Belle. When we were waiting for our
table I had the opportunity of meeting the Fairy Godmother. She
asked me what my plans were for the day and I told her that we were
planning to watch the Share A Dream Come True parade at 3:00. She
said that if she saw me that she would try to wave to me. I didn't
think there would be much of a chance of that happening. About 3:30
I was standing on Main Street U.S.A., in front of Uptown Jewlwers,
and the Fairy Godmother waved at me. There was nobody in froln of
me so I knew it was me. She said ''I know you, I walked with you
once a upon a dream.'' And she blew me a kiss. I am 19 years old.
Everytime I think of the Magic Kingdom I think of her."
"My ''Magical
Memory'' happened in June 2002. I was at the Magic Kingdom with
a friend and we were suppose to meet up witht the rest of the group
in front of the Partners Statue in front of the Castle. At the end
of Cinderella's Surprise Celebration (the Castle show) all the characters
come out and sign autographs. I happened to be sitting where Gipetto
was going to stand. After the twenty minutes of watching Gipetto
and Pinochio sign autographs I was ready to go ride Splash. As soon
as I got up Gipetto came after me and gave me a hug. When then took
a great picture. What a great Magical Moment."
"During a
visit to WDW in July 2001 we were able to get a priority seating
for the impossible Cinderella's Royal Table. (yes, you must call
at 7am exactly 60 days prior). This was the first character breakfast
for my 10 year daughter and 5 year old son.We were all looking forward
to it. Downstairs we met the Prince and Fairy Godmother. The Prince
had my daughter blushing as he gave a message to my daughter to
deliver to Cinderella. She absolutely loved the special attention.
Upstairs w e met Cinderella herself, Belle, Smow White, and my sons
favorite Jasmine. He was quite taken with her and even let her kiss
his cheek. She then invited us to be part of the afternoon parade.
Later, while visiting Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride, we ran into Aladdin
himself. After a few minutes, he realized who we were and chatted
with us a while, and posed for pictures. He also invitied us to be
part of the parade. During the parade Jasmine and my son were throwing
kisses to each other and Aladdin kept elbowing her and teasing my
son about taking his princess. What a day! My son still talks about
it!"
"My daughter
was just 2 when we visited last New Year. I was worried she would
be frightened of the characters but she loved every minute! When
you are two, it is Mickey, no question! She ran to the front of
the queue, pushing others out of the way to get to him and put her
arms around him. I had to swallow hard!"
" GREAT place
to meet more of the basic characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald,
and some others) is at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort.
It's a very fun way to do breakfast, and the Contemporary has monorail
service to the nearby Magic Kingdom and the rest of the main parks.
If you don't want to hunt for the characters, want to ride the monorail
but wouldn't have a chance otherwise, or would just like a nice
breakfast, Chef Mickey's is great."
"despite what
some people say. the breakfast at cinderella's royal table is worth
the trouble. we have just come back from the breakfast from june
1 through the tenth. I tried for 2 months and finally got a reservation
by calling early in the morning. If you do not get a reservation
for breakfast get one for dinner. They do not tell you this, but
cinderella does a show in front of the castle and she appears in
between times in her royal chair in the lobby of the castle to sign
autogra p h's and take pictures. she is also in toon town during
the day with her girl mice friends. if your little girl loves princess's
like my little girl does, you may find aeriol at her grotto in magic
kingdom, jasmine is at her ride the magic carpets of aladdin. sleeping
beauty is very hard to find, we even called the character hotline
at disney resort we stayed in and she was nowhere to be found. belle
has a place to read to the kids in magic and she will sign the book.
we got snow white's autogr a ph but it was only at the breakfast.
personally it is the best way to get them all at once, but if all
else fails, try the latter. we also found that the more popular
characters were harder and sometimes nowhere to be found. why i
do not know. characters like timon, captain hook , queen of hearts
, minnie , pluto, mickey, goofy, robin hood, governor radcliff,
meeko, baloo, pinocchio, gephetto, chip , dale, rabbit from alice
and alice in wonderland, briar rabbit, sailor smeade, monkey from
the l ion king, are everywhere. the most popular perform shows,
like belle, cinderella, show white, but will not come out and sign
autograph's, donald is the most hard one to get of these character's."
"On our families
first visit to WDW in '97 our daughter was 3 1/2 years old and got
a major blast out of all of the characters. Once in Epcot we came
across Donald in Mexico just before his handler told him it's time
to go in. As my daughter was coming up Donald turned and started
to go in (I don't think he had seen her). Katie started crying and
when Donald heard her he turned around and made a big deal out of
seeing her and stayed with her until she calmed down. Very nicely
done and it left a lasting impression. Another trip we were in the
World Showcase at Epcot where they bring in the busload of characters.
Katie had on a set of Eeyore ears and Eeyore had such a reaction
we had to return each time the bus was scheduled to return. It must
have been the same Eeyore each time cause he would go straight for
Katie and really make over her - blowing kisses and waving while
leaving and everything. Always special - we're looking forward to
our 2yr old son's trip this summer."
"I would like
to say how wonderful the employees are at toon town. My daughter
wanted to see Daisy Duck and it was our third trip to Disney over
a six year period and we had never seen Daisy before. On our last
day we heard Daisy was in toon town and rushed there and got in
line. She was so exited but when we got there Daisy had left for
a break. When the employee found out how disappointed my daughter
was and we were leaving later that day to come home he told us to
wait outside the d oor. In about 10 minutes he came back to get
us and let us in the room. Inside was Daisy and Donald. We took
pictures and got autographs and have never forgot that day. So don't
be afraid to ask you never know what will happen."
"When I was
nine my family and I went to the magic kingdom. My favourite characters
were Chip and Dale and I had to see them. The day went by and I
saw tons of characters but no chip and dale. After lunch we stopped
by a water fountain to get a drink and chip and dale came through
a gate just behind us. We were the only ones there and my mom started
screaming "it's chip and dale!" I got my autographs and pictures,
a totally awesome day."
"Me, my husband,
and my then 2 year old son, went on vacation to Walt Disney World
in October, 2001. This was my son's first trip to Disney, so we
were a little bit worried about him meeting the characters. I mean,
when you are only 3 feet tall, and you are looking up at a 6 foot
Tigger, who wouldn't be frightened? So, our first morning there,
we had reservations for breakfast at the Garden Grill in Epcot.
Here, you get to meet & greet Mickey, Chip & Dale, and Pluto. When
Chip and Dale came to the table, Jakob was a little apprehensive,
but seemed to warm up to them after he saw mom and dad weren't scared.
Things changed when he saw a 6-foot dog show up at the table. But,
Pluto was very kind and playful with Jake, and that helped put his
fears to rest...somewhat. When Pluto finished signing Jake's autograph
book, he tried to put the lid back on the permanent maker...but
it didn't quite work out. He missed and the lid went flying across
the breakfast table straight i n to my son's forehead. No, Jake
wasn't hurt, and the startled look on his face was priceless. Pluto,
however, was mortified. I kept telling him that Jake was fine and
that everything was all right. Pluto interacted with my son for
a quite a few minutes before going to the next table. Jake warmed
up quickly after that, and every time we saw Pluto in the parks,
we HAD to go see him. I guess you had to be there. But I am glad
I was. We had a fabulous time, it was worth every penny..."
"My daughter
was just 20-months old but loved the characters. I took her back
to MK later one evening while it was drizzling, but wasn't about
to stay at the resort. The park was quiet and it was closer to closing
time. We went to Mickey's toon town fair. We were practically the
only ones there. Groofy greeted us and snuggled my daughter so much.
He then picked her up and took her into the next room where chip
and dale and donald and minnie all were and passed her around. I
was the one in heaven. Then Donald took her by the hand, and we
walked out with him. Our next trip, we happened upon Belle and Snow
White on there way to the character greeting spot at the MK. They
took her by the hand and escorted her through the park, to the wishing
well. It was just great. She was 2 1/2 at that time. We are going
again soon. I have been so fortunate. It is hard imagine what we
might experience the next time!"
"My dad is
a bit claustrophobic, so theme parks can be a little nerve wracking
for him- especially with all those rides. On our second day, Goofy
came up to him and he had a lot of fun playing with Goofy and getting
his picture taken. For the rest of the trip my dad sought out all
the characters he could. I think we had out picture taken with about
twenty-five characters. It was so much fun for all of us. It was
something he could do without having to get on a ten minute ride
(although he did get on quite a few rides). He had so much fun and
still talks about it fondly. I was so happy to see my dad have that
much fun and really enjoy himself." Gabriella
"My daughters
Girl Scout troop went to Disneyworld in May. My daughter loves Eeore,
when we went to the lunch at Crystal Palace he paid special attention
to her. It was so great we are going back this Christmas."

"I went to
disney may 2001 and we went to Animal Kingdom first. we saw only
3 characters and everyone was a little upset. we were waiting for
my mom and sister to get back from the bathroom. We all waited by
the exit when Baloo,Rafiki, andTerk came walking down the street,we
got to see them but then we waited and waited and my mom and sister
didnt come. we waited about 10 minuites when my sister came down
with mickey! They had there arms around each other. We got great
pictures in the end when i went to go see mickey minnie appeared
out of no were I got a pictue with minnie and mickey together it
was really nice."
"while in epcot,my wife, I and the kids stopped in morocco.
The characters were really no big deal to me but i started video
taping my kids and out of nowhere came Jafar. He came right up to
me and put his big hand over my camera lens and shook his head as
if to say "no you cant tape me" he made everyone laugh especially
my wife.needless to say i wanted to watch Aladdin as soon as we
got home from vacation!!! i even bought a Jafar doll the last day
there if you can believe that!" Lefty31671@aol.com
"One of my
favorite moments occurred while passing through the countries in
Epcot, we came across a little grotto in France. Hiding in the grotto
was "Suzy" the little mouse from Cinderella. There were benches
and shade; best of all no crowds. So we decided to take a little
break there. My husband got coffee and the kids ran around for a
little while, and I just relaxed. A short while after Suzy went
in, Quasimodo came out. About 5 minutes later, Esmeralda and Phoebus
came out. And we had a memorable time with them; Esmeralda let my
2 year old daugher play her tamborine; While Phoebus eased my very
shy 5 year old son out of his shell by letting him hold his sword.
Just then Belle (my now favorite; she said I reminded her of her
friend "Snow White")and the Beast came out. There were very few
people there, so you actually got to spend time with the characters.
Another memorable
moment was late in the evening in Mickey's toontown fair. My husband
had struck up a friendship with a couple of the cast members who
worked in the store there. They were talking for a while so I decided
just to pop in the hall of fame to see who was there. It was amazing.
Minnie Mouse, Tigger, Eeyore, Pooh, Goofy, and my son's favorite
Donald Duck were there. There were almost no people there and the
characters were just fooling around. Minnie throw a cup of water
at Eeyore, Goofy stole Donald's tie, Goofy was chaseing Minnie;
it was just a great time. Donald even danced with my son. From that
point on, he called Donald Duck his friend."
"Suprisingly
you can see a lot of characters at Animal Kingdom. Right when the
park opens at eight, many Disney characters including Chip and Dale,
Goofy, Timon Rafiki and King Louie are on the street just like in
the old days when the characters ran free. Also in Animal Kingdom
at the conservation station several characters are available for
photo ops. We go to Disney about 8 times a year. We live in Florida
about 1.5 hours from the park." adelline@category5.net
"At 1900 Park
Faire, I actually got a picture of my son with Mickey AND Minne
together!! Also, a tip: the best places to meet characters for us
was World Showcase. Every country seemed to have a character there
(although we had to wait a few minutes once or twice), and the lines
were always very short. Plus, looking for characters kept my son
from being bored wandering through the coutries... it worked out
great!"
"Special Treat
... April'99 my sister and family visited Toon Town Hall of Fame.
There were 2-3 lines ... one for the villians: Cruella, Queen from
Snow White, etc. My niece was wearing a Snow White outfit Grandma
made. The Queen had quite a bit of fun with her ... but here's the
special story! The next line had Snow White and other princesses
... she was so nice and complimented her on her dress. Mom reminded
the little one a wish she asked for ... and she whispered to Snow
White "will you go on a ride with me?" Snow White gestured to mom
and said I'll meet you back here at noon. You guessed it ... Snow
White came out from one of those secret entrances, took her hand
and her sister's and they skipped over to the Snow White Ride ...
the whole family got to join Snow White for her special ride! Wow!
We have a video .. it brings a tear to your eyes ! Try it with YOUR
favorite character !! Who knows ???"
"A Character Greeting
tip of my own sometimes, the best Character Moments happen when
you don't plan it out. I have had most Moments backfire on me because
I plan them. The Characters can provide their own material for a
good Character Moment. :-)"
"We visited the
Magic Kingdom very recently and we would like everyone to know that
the Characters were great with our son. Our son has autism, so he
doesn't talk or make eye contact. None of the characters questioned
his behavior or apparent lack of interest in the them. Jasmine and
Aladdin were especially nice. "
"I was in
WDW in September of this year, and saw first had what was talked
about here..about characters leaving suddenly. I was waiting "in
line" ( I kindly and politely let the people...especially childern
that had already been there ahead of me go first) to take a picture
with Chubacca from Star Wars (He happens to be my favorite character)when
it was "my turn" he started to walk towards me..and as my boyfriend
get ready to take the picture....Chewy patted my head and walked
off. I have to admit at first I was a little upset having stood
there and waited all that time, but I have been in one of those
costumes and know...even though I was in an air conditioned building...how
hot and uncomfortable they can be. The ONLY character that DID NOT
walk away from me was then Genie from Alladin.....HE grabbed ahold
of ME and I ended up with a great photo! :-)"
