What is Magical Gatherings™?
A: The theme of Magical Gatherings™ will be celebrated across
the Walt Disney World® Resort property beginning on Oct. 6,
2003. This theme celebrates the magic that happens when friends
and family reconnect with a Walt Disney World® vacation. During
this time, a variety of new products and services have been launched,
designed to make it easier for larger parties to travel together.
How will Disney accommodate large party dining?
We have expanded our priority seating capacity for parties of eight
or more through a combination of facilities improvements, new menu
options and changes in booking processes.
Are other Disney Parks or Resorts participating in Magical
Gatherings™?
Currently, the Walt Disney World® Resort is the only location
using the Magical Gatherings™ theme and implementing the products
and services developed for larger parties.
What is the difference between Magical Gatherings™ and Grand
Gatherings?
While Magical Gatherings™ is the overarching theme at Walt Disney
World® and pertains to all party sizes, whether it's 3 or 33,
parties of eight or more (ages 3 and up) have the opportunity to become
Grand Gatherings, which allows these guests to take advantage of special
vacation planning services like itinerary planning, special reservation
assistance and enjoy unique experiences designed for larger parties
during their visit.
Is there a maximum number of guests for a Grand Gathering?
If a Grand Gathering party requires 10 or more rooms, our Resort Park
Sales and Services team will assist with the group's arrangements
instead of the Disney Reservation Center.
What Disney Resorts qualify as Walt Disney World® owned and operated?
Currently, Walt Disney World® offers 20 owned and operated resorts
on its property, with more than 21,000 rooms, as well as the campsites
at Ft. Wilderness. Guests staying at the Walt Disney World® Swan
and Dolphin Resorts also qualify.
Will Disney now guarantee room proximity?
As part of Magical Gatherings™, Walt Disney World® has committed
to making it easier than ever for larger parties to travel together
through new processes, products and services. Walt Disney World®
will do its best to accommodate Grand Gatherings requests for room
proximity, but it is not guaranteed.
Is park admission necessary for Grand Gathering experiences?
Yes, park admission is necessary for parties of eight or more (ages
3 and up) to take part in three of the Grand Gatherings experiences,
including the International Storybook Dinner at Epcot®, the Safari
Celebration Dinner at Disney's Animal Kingdom®, and the Good Morning
Gathering at the Magic Kingdom® Park.
Are the Grand Gathering experiences private?
Each Grand Gathering experience will include other Grand Gathering
parties.
What is the cancellation policy for a Grand Gathering experience?
Grand Gatherings experiences must be paid in full 45 days prior to
arrival and are fully refundable if canceled at least six days prior
to the first experience.
