How can I book a room at the Grand Floridian Resort?

Where is the Grand Floridian Resort?
Next to the Magic Kingdom, on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Are the guest rooms in the main building?
No, only the concierge rooms and suites are in the main Lodge building. The standard guest rooms are in five separate buildings.

Where are the best room locations?
Rooms in the Sugar Loaf Key building are closest to the amenities in the main Lodge building, but may be the noisiest due to people walking by, unless on a higher floor.
Sago Cay lagoon view rooms offer the best views of the Magic Kingdom and Cinderella Castle.
Certain lagoon view rooms in Conch Key offer views of Cinderella Castle.
In the main Lodge building, rooms 4401-4409 overlook the marina and offer a view of Cinderella Castle.
Big Pine Key is next to the beach, with rooms at the west end not too far from the main Lodge building. Lagoon view rooms here look across to the Polynesian.
Garden view rooms in Boca Chica overlook the quiet pool area, and gardens.
Conch Key is the furthest building from the main Lodge, and is next to the boat dock.
Dormer rooms have small, enclosed balconies, restricting the view when seated, and the room is slightly smaller than standard rooms.
This is how the room numbers work - room number 4321 - 4 is building, 3 is floor, 21 is room number.

Which buildings are smoking?
Smoking optional rooms can be found in the Big Pine Key building on floors 4 & 5.

Which buildings house the concierge rooms?
The concierge rooms and suites are mainly in the main Lodge building, with some concierge rooms in Sago Cay.

What happens at check-in?
You'll receive your room key (plastic card), a small 'guidebook', and park maps. You'll also have the option of leaving credit card details so that you can charge anything you purchase during your stay to your room card.

What will I find in my guest room?
Most of the 900 Guest Rooms have two queen-sized beds, a day bed, TV, armoire, table & 2 chairs, mini-bar, closet, small safe, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, coffee maker, bathroom with seperate vanity area, and a balcony. Refrigerators are available on request for $10 a night.

Are the rooms themed?
Yes, there are four different themes - Alice in Wonderland, cameo, floral, and swan.
Most rooms in the main building are in aameo.
The honeymoon suites are decorated in floral.
Rooms in Sago Cay are swan.
Sugar Loaf Key rooms are decorated in cameo.
All Conch Key rooms are Alice in Wonderland.
Most Boca Chica rooms are floral.
Rooms in Big Pine Key are Alice in Wonderland.

Is newspaper delivery available?
Yes, newspapers are delivered to each room daily.

What room views are available?
Garden View rooms feature balconies overlooking the landscaped gardens.
The Pool/Marina view rooms feature balconies overlooking either the courtyard pool or the marina.
Lagoon View  rooms overlook the Seven Seas Lagoon, & may or may not include a view of the Magic Kingdom.

How many people do the guest rooms accomodate?
Standard rooms have a five-person room occupancy.

Are there any activities for children?
Yes, there are scheduled activities throughout the week. Ask at Guest Services for details. There are also special programs available - Wonderland Tea Party, Pirate Cruise, and Grand Adventures in Cooking.

Are there childcare facilities?
The Mouseketeer Clubhouse offers supervised childcare. Kindercare offers in-room babysitting. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance. Call 407-827-5444.

Is there a games arcade?
Yes, at Gasparilla Grill and Games.

Is there a character meal?
Yes, join Disney characters for breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fare each day.

Where can I get refillable mugs?
From Gasparilla Grill and Games.

Is turndown service available?
Yes, nightly between 5:30pm and 9:30pm.

Where can I find Disney transportation?
The monorail station is on the second floor of the main building, and stops at the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary Resort, Transportation and Ticket Center, and Polynesian Resort.
Epcot can be reached by monorail, transferring at the TTC.
A ferry boat goes to the Magic Kingdom and Polynesian Resort.
Buses go direct to Disney MGM-Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney.

Where are the nearest ATM locations?
An ATM machine is located in the main lobby. Additional ATMs are located at each theme park, the Downtown Disney Area, as well as all Resorts (lobby area).

Where can I purchase stamps and where is the mailbox?
Stamps can be purchased from Sandy Cove, and the mailbox is located in the lobby.

Where can I make dining priority seating arrangements or purchase tickets?
Priority seating for most Walt Disney World restaurants can be made by touching the WDW DINE button on your in-room phone or by visiting Guest Services. Theme Park tickets are available at either the front desk or Guest Services.

Where can I rent boats?
Watermouse boats and other watercraft can be hired from the marina.

What other recreation options are available?
There are two clay tennis courts, a jogging path, croquet and volleyball.

Is there a fitness center or spa?
Yes, the Grand Floridian Spa features exercise equipment and full spa treatments and massages. There is also a salon which offers hair and nail treatments, The Ivy Leaf Trellis Salon.

Can I watch the fireworks from the Grand Floridian?
Watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the boat dock, beach or Narcoossee's.

Where can I watch the Electrical Water Pageant?
From the beach at 9:15pm.

Can I walk to the Polynesian Resort or Magic Kingdom?
There is no walkway to the Magic Kingdom. However, you can walk to the neighbouring Polynesian Resort via the walkway, which passes the Spa and Wedding Pavilion.

What is the Afternoon Tea?

Is there a swimming pool?
Yes, a new zero-entry pool was recently added on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon, which features a water slide. A quiet pool is also available.

What time is check-in?
Normal check-in time is after 3:00pm. For early travellers, every effort will be made to get you settled in as soon as possible.

What time is check-out?
Check-out time is before 11:00am. Later check out may be requested. Express check-out is available to guests with American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Disney Credit Card, Discover, Diners Club or JCB.

Where do I get...?
Extra pillows, & blankets, bed rails, baby cribs, handicap aids, extra hangers, towels, refrigerators, coffeemakers, or any other sundry items are available from Housekeeping.

Where do I find the ice machines?
Ice and vending machines are located on each floor in every building.

Is there a dry-cleaning service?
Yes, laundry bags and lists are located in the closet in your room. One day service is available if received by 8:30am, and will be returned by 7:00pm.

Is there a guest laundry?
Yes, coin-operated washers and dryers are located in each building. Vending machines offer laundry detergent.

Is luggage assistance available?
Yes, through Bell Services. When you arrive at the resort, someone from Bell Services will assist you to your room with your luggage. When you are ready to leave, just touch the LUGGAGE/VALET SERVICE button on the in-room phone. Gratuity not included.

Is valet service available?
Yes, for $7 a day a valet will park and retrieve your car as many times as you wish.

If I use the package delivery service in the parks, where do I pick them up?
If you shop at any merchandise location at the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or the Downtown Disney area, and choose to have your packages delivered back to your resort, they can be picked up the following day at the Resort merchandise pick-up location.

Does the Resort have wheelchairs available for guest use?
Yes, a limited number of wheelchairs are available at Guest Services. There is no charge, but a credit card guarantee may be required. A limited number or wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are available to rent at the theme parks.
