What is FASTPASS?
Disney's FASTPASS is Walt Disney World Resort's newest guest
improvement that frees guests to enjoy more of the Disney park they
are visiting. It's a ride reservation system that gives you
a ticket to ride a popular attraction during a specific time frame.
Here's how it works: When guests approach an attraction offering
Disney's FASTPASS, they will have the choice of using Disney's FASTPASS
or waiting in the regular line. A display clock denoting regular
wait time and the return time for Disney's FASTPASS will assist
guests in making their decision.
If guests choose Disney's FASTPASS line, each member of the party
will insert his or her theme park admission ticket into a turnstile
to receive the FASTPASS and a return time. Then they can use the
time they normally would spend in line enjoying other areas and
attractions in the park until their designated return time. When
they return, they will go to the Disney's FASTPASS entrance and
proceed directly to the attraction pre-show or boarding area with
no further wait.

How to use FASTPASS
Go to the attraction you want to ride & check the two posted
wait times - one is for the ordinary queue (standby), the other
is for FASTPASS. Decide whether you want to wait in the standby
queue or FASTPASS. If you choose FASTPASS, go to the FASTPASS area,
& insert your park ticket (resort ID acrd, annual pass, etc.)
into the FASTPASS machine. A FASTPASS pass will then be issued,
showing the one-hour window during which you should return to the
attraction. Keep your pass in a safe place as you will need it later.
When you approach an attraction, the FASTPASS clock will tell
you how long you have to wait, & will also display your time
window for return.
(FASTPASS is only in operation seasonally, at peak times)
When you return to the ride, look for the FASTPASS queue and proceed
directly to it. A Cast Member will ask to see your FASTPASS pass,
you then continue through to the attraction with little or no wait.
At the end of the line a Cast Member will collect your FASTPASS
pass before you actually get on the ride.
If an attraction has a pre-show, the Standby and FASTPASS lines
will merge at the entrance to the pre-show so no one misses any
part of the attraction.
You can now get a second FastPass ticket after a two hour wait
period, even if your first Fastpass window has not opened. Previously
you could only have one Fastpass tcket at once, you had to wait
until after the start of your pass' one hour window.
Until recently, you could only get another FASTPASS ticket after
two hours, unless you had used it. But now guests may be able to
get a second ticket within 45 minutes of the first one - depending
on guest demand.
If you lose your FASTPASS pass, you must get a new one.

Reviews
"In case you were wondering what the greatest invention was
since sliced bread, its Fastpass. Find a couple of rides you like
near a fastpass ride you want to go on. Depending on time of day
and size of crowd you may be told to come back in half an hour or
an hour and a half. Once you have your fastpass in hand you can
go on to other rides close by. Example would be to fastpass Splash
Mountain and hit Country Bear Jamboree while you are waiting for
your fastpass time to arrive. Then when you go back to Splash Mountain
you walk right past all the people in line and are on the ride in
no time. I can't recommend fastpass enough." Bill Heinick
