All the World’s A Stage -- Walt Disney World entertainment offers
guests more than 150 stage shows, parades, street performances and spectaculars
every day of the year in more than 50 performance venues on property.
Cast of Thousands -- The Entertainment division at Walt Disney
World Resort is made up of nine business units and has approximately
4,500 cast members in total.

than 57 cities worldwide holding auditions and interviewing more than
14,000 people for Disney performance roles.
All Dressed Up -- Creative Costuming designs, creates or purchases
all 3,500 different costumes worn by Walt Disney World performers. This
department not only supports all of Entertainment’s costume needs, but
provides costumes for the entire Walt Disney World property including
such areas as parks, resorts, firefighters, security, bus drivers, landscapers,
food service, ranch hands, etc. In addition, they supply the 12,000
costume pieces for the 926 Audio-Animatronics® figures on property.
Endless Ensembles -- About 1.5 million yards of fabric are used
for new costuming, with more than 2.5 million yards of fabric in our
overall inventory. Our garment inventory includes more than 3 million
costumes.
Puppets on Parade -- There are eight different styles of “Tapestry
of Dreams” puppets, which range in height from 12 feet to 19 feet, with
wing spans varying between 8 feet to 16 feet.
Infinite Instruments -- Our Show Support department keeps track
of nearly 150,000 pieces of equipment (microphones, speakers, audio
cable, lighting equipment) used to support more than 20,000 Walt Disney
World shows and events each year.
It’s Not a Small World, After All -- The prominent Earth Globe
featured in the “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” nighttime spectacular
weighs 350,000 pounds -- equal to 150 midsize cars. The globe could
hold approximately 20 million Ping-Pong balls.
Fired Up --There are a total of 68 fireworks firing positions
throughout World Showcase with more than 1,100 shells fired in each
thirteen-minute “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” show.
Floods of Fun -- The moat at the nighttime spectacle “Fantasmic!”
at Disney-MGM Studios contains 1.9 million gallons of water, and more
than 80,000 gallons of water per minute are sprayed to create three
mist screens used in the show. All of the water is recycled -- just
like a swimming pool.
