HEAD ISLAND RESORT ADVENTURES (all activities subject to change
and may require an additional fee)
Whether you're
young or young at heart, you're bound to find a host of activities
for the whole family:
Dynamic Dolphin Discovery Tours: Join our researchers on
the open water and meet dolphins in their natural habitat.
Nature Walks: Join a Disney naturalist and learn about
the fascinating habitats throughout Hilton Head Island, whether
at our resort, on the beach or at some other special place.
Starry Nights: Explore the night sky as the Indians might
have many moons ago.
Campfires: Enjoy storytelling and family fun by the warmth
of our campfire. We'll even roast marshmallows and devour s'mores!
Kayaking: Our two-hour guided adventure features a pre-trip
overview of kayaking fundamentals.
Beachside Trail Ride: Ride a remote stretch of beach on
horseback with a Disney naturalist as your guide.
Welcome Cruise: Enjoy the splendor of the waterways around
the island aboard a 62-foot gaff-rigged topsail schooner -- a
replica of an 18th-century sailing vessel -- and take part in
hoisting and trimming the sails. You might even take the helm.
Disney
Discovery Club Programs -- aka 2Dc -- gives kids an opportunity
to discover, create, and explore. Supervised "edutainment" adventures
involve exploration, biking, and crabbing as children discover
the beach, marsh, and woodlands. 2Dc programs are designed for
children ages 3-6 and 7-12.
Imaginurture
-- nurture your imagination with these activities that are
just pure fun!
Sweet Goodnights:
Mom, Dad, and little ones are invited to join other families in
their PJ's for the evening ritual of bedtime stories, with cookies
and milk.
Gyotaku: Experience the ancient art of Japanese fish-printing.
Paint a real fish and create an award-worthy T-shirt to take home.
Unbirthday Party: Celebrate the 364 days of the year that
are not your birthday!
Longview Cooking Club: Resident chef Gordon invites guests
to join him for some hands-on Carolina cookin', a little bit of
eatin', and a whole lot of fun.
Start off
the series with a tried-and-true favorite, Cooking with Matilda.
In the fine tradition of the first chef of Longview Island (Miss
Matilda), Gordon shows how to dish up a Low Country recipe, while
our southern belle, Peyton Lee Beauchamp, dishes out the laughs.
Next, how
about sampling a cup of Joe (or several) in A Taste of Coffee,
where Gordon tickles the taste buds with coffees from around the
world.
And then,
don't forget about dessert. You'll find that decorating cakes
just like the finest pastry chefs can be as easy as pie -- just
sign up for the newest addition to the roster of the Longview
Cooking Club, where you'll learn firsthand the intricacies of
decorating cakes with all the tools the pros use.
