"My parents and I ate dinner here in May 2002 & 2000. Wonderful
food! One of our favorites. Both times we were seated immediately.
In 2000, my parents shared the Chateaubriand for Two, which they
thought was excellent. Of course for our 2002 trip, this is one
of the things they were looking forward to, however, it was not
on the menu. The waitress, however, checked with the chef and said
they would be able to prepare it. My parents were very happy. Of
course, our server neglected to mention that it would take well
over an hour to prepare. Furthermore, she never came to the table
to tell us what was going on and it was about 40 minutes before
she checked to see if we needed anything, like more beverages. She's
lucky the food was so good. I, not being a steak-eater, have had
the roasted chicken breast and the salmon, both of which were excellent.
However, the au gratin potatoes I got with the salmon were very
greasy, so I did not like them very much. (Bad night in the kitchen?)
As a side note on the service: although our waitress in 2002 was
bad, I have to say that the service in 2000 was excellent. We had
a late PS, however and the restaurant was far less busy. Still,
our waiter then made our experience totally enjoyable, and we like
to think that on our most recent trip, our waitress was just having
a bad night. We will definitely return on our next trip!" Shane
"The food here is wonderful, everytime we visit WDW we eat
at the Yachtman Steakhouse, and we always request OSCAR, he is a
wonderful waiter among the others. we are treated like family there.
I would highly recommend it, especially if you like beef. The steaks
are so delicouis they melt in your mouth. I give it the highest
recommendation." (1/02) Diane T
"Donna (wdwgrandma) and I were at WDW for 2 weeks in late
November and early December. We had tried repeatedly to get PS at
Le Cellier in Epcot's Canadian Pavilion with no success. One day
we decided to take the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at MK and got to
chat with one of the CM Tour Guides while we were waiting for our
tour to start. He highly recommended the Yachtsman Steak House at
the Yacht Club Resort. So we tried for PS there. We had no problem.
We spent most of our day that day visiting the other resorts and
checking out the Christmas decorations. It was getting on towards
dinner time but was still about an hour before our PS time and the
restaurant wasn't really open yet. We checked in and told the CM
at the desk that we would be in the bar. We had seats in the bar
where we could see the wonderful cuts of meat hanging in the butcher
shop. Donna had also managed to somehow hurt her ankle and was sort
of hobbling at this point so we really just wanted to eat and get
back to our own resort.
When the restaurant opened the CM told us that we could be seated
ahead of our PS time. She ushered us in and our waiter was right
there to give us menus and take our drink orders. Recognizing that
Donna was in a great deal of pain our waiter offered to get her
a wheel chair and take her to get he ankle wrapped but she told
them that since she didn't have to walk during dinner that she would
be all right and would see how her ankle felt after dinner. We had
a wonderful meal. I had one of those humongous Porterhouse steaks
and Donna had a filet I believe. The waiter was very attentive and
very knowledgeable and our entire dining experience was outstanding.
After presenting the check, he noticed that Donna was still feeling
some pain in her ankle and insisted on getting her a wheelchair.
The CMs then wheeled her out to the main entrance while I went to
get the car.
This kind of service and attention, to say nothing of the wonderful
meal itself certainly makes us want to go back there again. But
then there are so many other restaurants that we would like to try
that we aren't sure exactly when. We just know that we will return."
