"I must say that the Japanese architecture has
this thing for steepness on their staircases! I thought I was going
to die on the way up to the restaurant. Good thing we arrived about
20 minutes early...think it took me that long to climb the stairs!
(j/k) Our PS was at 1pm and we were sat just minutes after that.
One of the couples seated with us were celebrating their 6th anniversary
and were doing the DISCOVERY MAGIC also. Thought it was cool to
have a 10th and 6th celebration at the same table. Our server was
Pico and she was just precious! DH and I both enjoyed our experience,
but we thought that our friend who cooks in a Japanese restaurant
here was more personable. I think knowing him is the difference.
Don't misunderstand me, the cook we had was excellent and talented,
just not as entertaining as I was hoping for. DH and I both shared
the Shrimp Appetizer...yummy!! We both had the Hatamoto (chicken
and shrimp combination) I had a blast "trying" to eat everything
on my plate too. I had iced tea and DH had green tea. Interesting
(the green tea) to say the least. We also had two non-alcoholic
drinks...I had the ICHIGO...YUMMY...YUMMY....YUMMY!!! It was a combination
of all kinds of fruit, sorry I can't remember. DH had the MIKAN
and his combination of fruits were obviously different from mine.
I distinctly remember the mandarin in his... YUMMY!!! DH tried the
Chestnut Cake for dessert but after about 2 bites realized there
was an alcohol taste to it...DH doesn't drink and wasn't happy it
didn't mention the alcohol as one of the ingredients in the cake
as it did the others. Besides that, our experience was GREAT! The
cost of our meal...$61.05 and with the 15% grat of $9.15 that brought
the grand total to $70.20! " Denise
