This restaurant, modeled after the original Brown Derby in California,
brings together all the elegance of old Hollywood with some of the
finest food and wine you'll ever sit down to. Plus unmatched atmosphere
that'll make anyone feel like a real celebrity. One tip: since this
is the home of the famous Cobb salad, don't pass up giving this
menu item a try. The finely chopped mixture of salad greens, tomato,
bacon, turkey, egg, and avocado is a Hollywood institution in itself.

"My parents and I had lunch here in May 2002.
We had a PS and were seated right away. The restaurant was just
as I had pictured it with all of the pictures on the walls, the
dark wood and, of course, the big, comfy booths. Our waitress was
very friendly, informative and efficient. No complaints and she
even took a picture for us. The food was very good here, too. My
mom had the famous Brown Derby Cobb Salad. It was very good and
I love how everything is chopped really fine and entirely mixed
together. I had the Chicken Quesadillas and a Baby Leaf Greens Salad
- both appetizers, but still filling - and they were very tasty.
My dad had the Sesame-Seared Yellowfin Tuna Cobb, which not only
looked pretty, but was also very good. My mom was generous enough
to share her dessert - Double Chocolate Torte - with my dad and
me, and, boy, was it yummy! All in all a very good experience. I
would definitely recommend this restaurant." Shane
"Went on Thanksgiving Day with a large group
of 15. We had PS with the Fantasmic package and, although having
a fun day, we were not anticipating a 4-star meal. What a surprise!!!!
To a person, we ALL enjoyed our meals. We were served "real" turkey,
with delicious mashed potatoes, hot gravy, green apple stuffing
and crisp green beans. A few opted for filet mignon stuffed with
lobster. The meals were wonderful, the service most accomodating!
In addition, we had only waited 15 mins. beyond our appointed seating
time. All said, we would repeat the experience of a delightful Thanksgiving
Day dinner at the Brown Derby. Wonderful food served with speed,
politeness and efficiency. A pleasurable dining experience...particularly
on a Thanksgiving Day." (11/02) Mr. & Mrs. R.J. Foulsham
"Loved the food at the brown Derby, service was
wonderful. Get the cob salad. For those who don't know, the brown
derby in WDW is an exact replica of the historic one in hollywood
(which isn't there anymore) and has the same menu/recipies. Cob
salads were a creation of the brown derby's chef, way back when,
and most folks have never had the real thing (as its more work than
most resturants are willing to do). Generally, I only ever to to
WDW off season (can't see the point of paying $40+/day to stand
in line), so I can't talk to how crowded it is on season. Also,
I don't tend to eat at the "normal" hours, so I was able to walk
right in and be seated every time I've gone. For some reason, folks
don't seem to crowd the Brown derby they way they do other resturants,
and the food is amazing." (4/02) japlady
"We made a reservation only 45 minutes in advance
and we were seated quite promptly. The atmosphere here is very warm
and clubby - wood trim and comfortable booths, linen tablecloths
and napkins. Quite a masculine look to the place. The service was
great, the food was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed this dining
experience. It was a very hot day (low 80s but very humid!) and
we were wearing shorts and t-shirts, as was nearly everyone else
dining here. No problem with being dressed for the parks."

"I decided to change my original 6:55 PS to the
Fantasmic Package. I'm very glad I did for two reasons. 1)it stopped
DH and I from having to be in the theater by 7pm and 2)it got me
an earlier dinner time of 5:20! We arrived back at the park at exactly
5pm. I thought that was perfect timing. We headed straight for the
Derby and checked in. Once again we were seated promptly. Actually,
I remember us being seated by about 5:10. I thought that was AWESOME!
Carlos was our waiter and let me give you one word for him... DIGNIFIED!!
I JUST THOUGHT HE WAS DA BOMB!! DH and I started with the shrimp
appetizer and it was FANTASTIC! One warning about it though. It's
only 3 large shrimp on individual skewers. So, if you're thinking
about doing it for 4 or more...don't! It was just right for DH and
I. We each had our own and shared the last one. I had the filet
which came with a mashed potatoes. I was ready to go and kiss the
cook after biting into that filet! It was the PERFECT medium. DH
had the Tuna and the only problem he had with it was his temperature.
I recommened meduim as did Carlos and my DH said something about
lukewarm fish just doesn't do his stomach justice. He ate every
drop of it though because he said it was still very good. His came
with a cucumber salad. They bring you these yummy rolls before your
meal arrives and if you're not careful you WILL fill up on those
before your entrees come. I had tea (as usual. I'm trying to watch
my soda intake) DH had lemonade...of course! Now the fun part, I
had the Apple Pecan Strudel with ice-cream, and check this out...IT
WAS SUGAR-FREE AND STILL QUITE YUMMY!! DH had the famous Grapefruit
Cake and said it was excellent! The food, atmosphere, and service
were spectacular, and I'm just sorry they took away the piano player.
The cost of our meal was $70.34 and with the standard 15% of $9.95,
that brought our total to $80.29." Denise
