"DEFINITLEY have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe
at Downtown Disney. Its most magical if you go in the evening. There
is sucha great atmosphere & even thou there are lots of folks,
you can call ahead for reservations & not have to wait as long.
Everything about this place is great, its not just an eatery, its
a WHOLE experience! Every so often (its timed) there is even a real
rainstorm!!! Def. a MUST DO!" (5/04)
"Our family (2 adults, 2 kids ages 8 & 10) loved
it. The first night we tried to go there was a 2 hour wait but the
next night we were there around 5:30 and had less than 1/2 hour
wait. Plan ahead if you want to eat there! We tried to call for
priority seating at approximately 2 pm that day and were told the
earliest they could put us was 9pm for a table for 4. Much easier
to just show up early. We had a very nice waiter - efficient and
friendly. We ordered the coconut shrimp which were mediocre - quite
frankly the Outback steakhouse coconut shrimp are much better. We
also tried the crabcake sandwhich - FANTASTIC! The crabcake was
mostly meat with very little filler. The portions were huge. The
kids enjoyed their food from the kids menu - varied but similar
to other disney kids menus. As for the cost for dinner, it was no
more than any of the other Disneyworld restaurants we dined at.
It is true there is a huge gift shop you walk through to enter and
leave. There are a wide variety of items, some of which were very
inexpensive. We had also become quite adept at saying no during
the previous 5 days of our vacation - it seems that the entire disney
experience consists largely of seperating parents from large chunks
of money on a regular basis. Overall, Rainforest Cafe was a fun
and tasty experience for the whole family." (7/03) Jennifer

"My family of 5 ( 2 adults and 3 children ) loved
Rainforest Cafe !!! We went between lunch and dinner and had no
wait at all. The hostess and server were very nice and helpful.
The food was very good ( I had the Cyclone Crab Cakes, Yum ! ).
The atmosphere is awesome !!! There are giant aquariums filled with
brilliantly colored tropical fish, animatronic elephants, gorillas,
birds, etc... There were several sudden rain storms complete with
thunder and lightning but you don't get wet. There were also live
birds and a gift shop. It was a memorable experiance for my whole
family and we plan to go again on our next trip. Although there
is no priority seating at Rainforest Cafe, I found out from their
web site ( www.rainforestcafe.com ) that you can make reservations."

"I have eaten at two Rainforest Cafes - Niagara
Falls and Dowtown Disney. I had the exact same experience at both
- we were seated and no server came to serve us. Both times I had
to get up and find someone to help us (the people at Disney were
friendly when I asked for help, the Canadians were not). The food
is okay at best and the service is pretty awful. Go inside and look
around, but don't eat here." (1/03) Mike Hill
"The wait was a little long, but the food was
great. It was more than enough we could have shared our food because
it was to much to eat. A few of us had the salad and it was wonderful
I don't remember which salad but I give it a high score." (1/03)

"We were told that the wait would be about 30
min. We were call right on time and lead to a table where we sat
for 20 min before seeing a server. We were ready to order - after
waiting 35 min more our appetizers and soup were brought together.
Not 5 min later our main course arrived, without 2 of the sides
ordered. Our appetizer was taken so as to make room on the table.
The missing sides arrived just as we were finishing the meal. No
apology was made and the bill presented. The food was mediocre at
best. The service was horrid. All in all an experience that we will
not recommend or repeat." (8/02) Gerard Miller
