Discovery Cove is an exclusive, reservations-only family adventure
in which guests experience the most exciting animal encounters the
world has to offer, including swimming and playing with dolphins.
For most guests, the highlight of a visit to Discovery Cove will
be the rare opportunity to swim and play with beautiful bottlenose
dolphins. The dolphin-swim experience begins as seven guests and
a trainer wade into shallow water for their introduction to a dolphin.
Guests learn about dolphins' behavior, get close to the animals
through hugs and kisses, and discover how Discovery Cove's trainers
use hand signals and positive reinforcement to communicate with
them. Taking the relationship one step further, guests swim and
play with the dolphins one-on-one in a deep-water lagoon.
Other Discovery Cove attractions allow guests to safely experience
the marine world and its amazing animals. In the Coral Reef, snorkelers
swim among thousands of exotic fish and explore an underwater shipwreck
with barracuda and sharks. In the huge, free-flight Aviary, guests
feed, touch and mingle with hundreds of colorful tropical birds.
In the Ray Lagoon, guests can actually feed, touch and wade with
dozens of sleek and mysterious stingrays.
A Tropical River scattered with sunken ruins and hidden grottos
meanders through most of Discovery Cove, allowing guests to swim
or float through a variety of environments, including waterfalls,
sandy beaches, rocky lagoons and a free-flight aviary. Beaches provide
a seamless pathway to all Discovery Cove attractions and surround
a large resort-style pool for swimming or relaxing.
Your complimentary meal is from the Laguna Grill. The Laguna Grill
is a counter-service restaurant that serves a variety of food including
- chicken sandwiches, hot-dogs, chicken pasta, Caesar salad, cobb
salad, stir-fry. Water & sodas are free, but you pay extra for
wine & beer. The restaurant opens at 11am. The seating areas
are outside under large umbrellas, there is also waiter service
to bring food & drink to you on the beach.
At Discovery Cove, there are no crowds and no lines. Attendance
is limited to 1,000 guests a day, ensuring an intimate experience
for everyone. Guests are greeted at a check-in desk and escorted
by a personal guide for an orientation and tour. A high level of
personal service will make the experience truly unique.
