When you arrive at Discovery Cove you check-in at the Welcome Hall,
where you receive a photo-ID card. You are then taken, in a small
group, on a short tour of the park.
Dolphin Lagoon Imagine
feeling the playful nudge of a dolphin as you swim together in a
deep-water lagoon surrounded by sandy beaches and lush tropical
landscaping. Three guests and a trainer begin by wading in the shallow
area for their introduction to a dolphin. Guests learn about dolphins'
behaviors, get to know the animals, and discover how SeaWorld's
trainers use hand signals to communicate with the dolphins. Taking
the relationship one step further, guests swim and play with the
dolphins, one-on- one, and feel the power and grace of these magnificent
animals. The experience lasts around 45 minutes, 30 minutes of which
are spent in the water with the dolphins. Photographers are on hand
to capture the event, & the photographs can be purchased, prices
here.

Coral Reef Snorkelers can follow
colorful clouds of thousands of tropical fish in this spectacular
coral reef. Bright-colored angelfish and delicate butterfly fish
compete for attention with silvery jacks, black-and-white striped
spadefish and more than 75 other species. Swimmers also will snorkel
within inches of barracuda and sharks, fierce predators safely housed
behind clear partitions.

Ray Lagoon In this quiet, protected
area, guests can enjoy the thrill of snorkeling, wading and playing
with hundreds of southern and cownose rays -- gentle animals that
grow up to 4 feet in diameter.

Tropical River
This waterway meanders its way throughout most of Discovery Cove,
encountering beaches, foliage-covered walkways and rocky lagoons.
River swimmers travel through several different environments: a
sunny island beach, a dense tropical forest, an Amazon-like river,
a tropical fishing village and an underwater cave.

Aviary
Swimmers going under a waterfall in the tropical river will find
themselves inside an immense aviary, which straddles the waterway
and houses 300 colorful birds from throughout the world. The aviary
includes a small-bird sanctuary that allows guests to hand-feed
tiny birds such as finches, honeycreepers and hummingbirds, along
with a large-bird sanctuary that features interactions with larger
birds - some up to 4 feet tall - such as toucans and red-legged
seriema. Guests entering the aviary will find a flowing centerpiece
fountain, hanging vines, trickling streams, lush landscaping and
a 21-foot long cave entrance.
