The
lines at guest services get longer towards the end of the cruise,
so make sure you get any business (paying tips, etc) done as
early as possible. The same applies for shopping.
As
soon as you've boarded & found your stateroom, go and make
reservations for Palo, the spa & any excursions you plan
to take. For the spa, know what you want to book in advance,
don't bother with the tour, just make your reservation.
On
the 4-day cruise, if you plan to go to Animator's Palate twice,
go on the first assigned evening, as the animation show doesn't
run on the last night.
On
the 3-day cruise, if you plan to dine at Palo, make your reservation
for as late as possible. Go to your assigned restaurant & have
a light meal. You can then see the show & go to Palo afterwards.
Buy
snacks & sodas from a supermarket before you get to the ship,
you can store them in the fridge in your stateroom. You can then
take snacks with you when you go ashore.
In
the corridors on the ship, just look at the carpet to find out
which way the back or front of the ship is - the anchor on the
carpet is two-coloured, the red points towards the back of the
ship, the blue towards the front.
On
Castaway Cay, get off the ship as early as you can if you want
to get a good place on the beach, in a hammock or under an umbrella.
If
you want to go snorkeling on Castaway Cay, go early. When lots
of people have been in the water, the sand is kicked up from
the bottom & visibility is greatly reduced. Rent your snorkel
gear in advance on the boat to avoid the queues on the island.
On
the Nassau day & the Castaway Cay day, guests can sign up
for a tour of the bridge.
Disney
animation art & photographs can be found throughout the ship,
ask for the self directed tour from guest services.
There
are 14 hidden Mickeys to be found on the ship, ask at guest services
for the Mickey challenge.
The
disembarkation talk is broadcast on the TVs in the staterooms
all day, so you don't need to attend the talk.
If
the service has been especially good from a member of staff,
make sure you give them an extra tip, most crew members rely
on tips, as wages are very low.
The
best time to find characters is during the sail-away celebration,
on deck 10.
"As soon as you get your "Key
to the World" room key/charge card,
check out the letters printed on it for your dining plan [something
like PLAPLAP ...on the 7 day cruise]. The letters stand for the
restaurants on your rotation dining plan...P=Parrot Cay, L=Lumiere`s
[T=Triton`s on the "Wonder"], and A=Animator`s Palate. This way you
can decide which night [if any] you want to dine at Palo`s." contributed

"Make sure that you do
not miss the "show" at Animator`s Palate which they only do on
one of your nights on the 7 day cruise." contributed by
Terry
"If you enjoy wine with
your dinner, sign up for a wine package which gives you a 25% saving
over the normal price." contributed by Terry
"You can also sign up
for a photo package if you think you will buy many of the photos
taken by the ships photographer during your cruise." contributed

"Make sure you are on
an outside deck [9 or 10 preferably] when the ships horn sounds." contributed

"Disney Dreams is
a "must see" show." contributed by Terry
"If you fancy a quiet
area to read/snooze/watch the World go by, there are comfortable
loungers on the Promenade Deck [deck 4]" contributed by
Terry
"For adults, go to Serenity
Bay beach when on Castaway Cay." contributed by Terry
"If you can, get there
early, we've always been able to board the ship around 11:00. That's
an extra 6 hours of fun before the ship departs at 5:00pm." contributed
by Roberto
"There are two other
choices for Palo's other than dinner on the 7-Day cruise. Consider
doing High Tea and Champagne Brunch. Those are during the day and
you can actually enjoy the ocean view since it's daylight." contributed
by Roberto
"If you can stay up a
bit longer from having so much fun during the day, around 12:00am
to 1:00am is the best time to take photos around the ship, it still
looks great since all the lights are on there are no people getting
in the way when taking your photos" contributed by Roberto
"At Grand Cayman, I recommend
the Georgetown City Tour. Ice cold air conditioned bus, around
2-1/2 hours, several stops including a turtle farm" contributed
by Roberto
"At Cozumel, there are
many excursion choices, but consider that any excursion to mainland
Mexico requires a 45 - 50 minute ferry ride and then transportation
to your destination. Total excursion times for mainland Mexico
excursion is 7 hours, but you will spend 2-1/2 to 3 of those hours
traveling to and from. We did the Cozumel Ruins and Beach Tour
and really enjoyed it. The total tour is about 4 hours and transport
to the two destinations, ruins and beach, is about 25 minutes each" contributed

"On
the 7-Day, there is usually a matinee presentation of "Disney
Dreams" on day 6. We did this and it was great. Since it was
early, around 4:30, we were able to relax the rest of the afternoon.
This was our night to take a break from dinner, we ate at the "quick
service" locations on Deck 9." contributed by Roberto
"Get to Castaway
Cay early in the morning and come back to the ship when it get
really hot just after noon and do the bridge tour, it's really
interesting." contributed by Roberto

Comments & Reviews
"I went on the Disney Cruise in 2000 (when I was 7 years old)and
since have been on two more cruises (on Royal Caribbean). We
sailed on the Magic for 4 days (at the time, we live in Orlando,
so we didn't do the three days of Walt Disney World). Disney
was fun because it had all of the characters (I love Disney) and
was very well themed, but I have to say, I like Royal Caribbean
better because it has more options, more excursions, better kids
programs (that's surprising!), and better dining. Disney
Cruises are better for little kids because all they really care
to do is play and swim. Disney is still fun for tweens, teens,
and adults, too (especially if you're a Disney Fan). Oh,
and if you get seasick easily, it's actually better to get a room
below the 6th deck because the closer you are to the water, the
less you rock. I don't have a problem with seasickness, but
I was informed by a cruise director that if you get seasick or
carsick easily, you definately do not want a room on the 7th or
8th deck."

and drove down port canavarel for the cruise it was fantastic our
two children aged 10 and 5 had a great time in the kids clubs the
shows were first class and the service second to none we are cruising
again in feb03 this time on a 4 night cruise." (11/02) roger

"I went on the Disney cruise this summer. The 7 night caribean
one, it was absolutely awesome. I am 15, so this is from a teenagers
point of view! i made so many friends, and still had time to see
my family. We took the Eastern one, Castaway Cay is absolutely
beautiful and so much fun! Having a secluded beach for teens makes
it even better. I went on the Ragade (sail boat race) at Saint
Maarten. It was fun, but i sat in the front, and got kinda sick.
At Saint Thomas we went on the Atlantis Subarmine. It was cool,
certain colors u were wearing, like red, changed colors the deeper
u got, and i saw sharks and cool fish. I was on deck 8, the family
room. It had just enough room for 5 ppl, and the verandah was rlly
nice. I*d come home late at night, and just go out there and chill
while my family was sleeping. I encourage everyone to go on it!
It is definitely worth it."
"We had our first Disney experience on the Wonder in March
of 2001. We decided to book the cruise since I was 5 months pregnant
and our son had just turned 3. My husband and I also took my mother.
Of course we can't wait to go again but are planning well in advance
so we can save the expense of paying for our youngest child. This
time we will go BEFORE she is 3. We had a category 11-std inside
state room. It was adequate in size. King bed, convertible couch
into a twin, and a pu l l down bunk over the convertible couch.
TV and small refrig were the ammenities. Service was usual top
notch Disney and we wanted to adopt every Cast Member we met. They
were all so personable. Dining included a wide variety of entrees...
ranging from slightly daring to dressy basics to satisfy a somewhat
picky eater. We loved everything and cleaned our plates every time.
The gigantic shrimp cocktail on the luncheon bar upon arrival was
the best welcome. Desserts were fabulous! We were aboard one of
the cruises that didn't make it to Castaway Cay due to inclement
weather. Tips: Book early to get the first dinner seating if you
have small children!"
" I went on the Disney Cruise with my 3 children ages 5,
11, and 13. The service was excellent and there were many things
for the children to do all day and even into the night. I have
nothing to compare it to...but think as a single Mom it was safe
and worth every penny. They treated me like a queen." Tammy-Newport,
Washington
"I HAVE ON BOTH 7 DAY CRUISES AN THE 3 AND 4 DAY CRUISES
THEY WERE ALL EXCELENT. I HAVE STAYED IN CATAGORIES 4,5,6&7 UNLESS
YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE I FOUND THE CATOGARY
7 STATE ROOMS WERE MORE THAN SUFFICIENT. I HAVE EATEN IN ALL THE
DINING ROOMS BUT VTHE PALO MY FAVORITE ON THE MAGIC WAS LUMIARIES
AND TRITONS ON THE WONDER. I USUALLY STAY AT ONE OF THE RESORTS
FIRST MY FAVORITE SO BFAR HAS BEEN THE CONTEMPORY BUT IT IS NO
LONGER OFFERED."
"We (husband, two boys 7, 5) took the cruise last Easter.
We did 3 days at the parks and 4 days on the boat. My two boys
LOVED the Oceaneer's clubs. They gave us a hard time when we picked
them up to have dinner with us. They wanted to stay EACH NIGHT
until it closed (either 12:00 or 1:00 am). The only down side was
our youngest was exposed to too much sun and not enough water while
at Castaway Cay. The adults in charge of his group didn't push
the water breaks enough, and he was too busy playing to "get out
of the sun" and drink. The food was unbelievable. Every crew member
treated us as if we were the only ones on the boat! I would also
suggest getting a cabin no lower than the 6 deck. We hit the open
seas on the way back to port and while eating breakfast on the
3rd deck the water glasses, and salt/pepper shakers were scooting
across the table! None of us had any seasickness, nor did we use
any patches, and I get carsick easily. The ship is that big. Also,
buy the $20 refillable mug. We drink lots of Diet Coke and easily
made our money back. They are refillable all over the ship. Since
there is food EVERYWHERE, having the mug was essential! We also
utilized the ship's spa. What a treat it was--except when they
try and sell you all the creams, etc., that they've used on you.
And nothing is cheap. Castaway Cay was beyond beautiful. We can't
wait to go back. Next time though, we'll do 7 days onboard!" Ann
"We just went on The Disney Wonder for 5 days/ 4 nights and
I must say it was an excellent experience. Everything about it
was superb; the food, the service, the enterntainment, etc... I
definetely recommend it to anybody. We took our kids (4 year old
and 18 month old) and they had a blast. Our servers, Richard and
Maria, and our stateroom cleaning person, Winnie; deserve great
praise. Also kudos to our great cruise director- Jackie. The only
thing we were not to happy with was the Atlantis excursion. Although
they tell you there is extensive walking, they fail to mention
all the stairs (it's a little tricky with a stroller). We lost
our 1st. tour guide because he would not wait for us. Needless
to say, we are talking about a second cruise in the near future."
"We went on the Disney Magic about
a year ago and had a blast! We especially loved the improv group
and would love some info on them like names and where else they
may be performing. We were on at the time of Hurricane Floyd
and made Disney history by going to Mexico...I would advise anyone
to travel on the Magic!!! It doesn't get any better. If you know
any info on the improv gang please email me at starkey@comwares.net.
thanks." Terri Starkey.
