Mazatlan Shore Excursions

 

Explore every nook of this city that long ago served as a port for Spanish galleons loading up on gold and silver.

Enjoy expeditions through the countryside and unparalleled golf and horseback riding in your unforgettable onshore adventure.

All excursion prices are subject to change without notice. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult on excursions.

 

Mazatlan City Tour & Folkloric Show (3.5 hours)

Fun for all ages, this tour begins with a stop at Vigia Hill for a picture-perfect view of the world’s highest natural lighthouse, offshore islands and Mazatlan ’s scenic coastline. Then, you’ll ride through the city’s historic center for a visit to the 19th-century cathedral before a stop to see the famous cliff divers; the ride to each of these 3 stops is approximately 10 minutes. Next, it’s an approximate 35-minute ride to the Golden Zone, where you’ll enjoy a show at the Aztec Theater. The Papantla Fliers, high-flying Totonac Indians, perform amazing aerial acts while you watch and relax with a complimentary beverage. During the show, youngsters can watch a children’s ballet and learn Mexican dance steps. After the show, it’s an approximate 20-minute ride back to the ship.

Mazatlan Beach Escape (4 - 5.5 hours)

Bring your swimsuit and beach gear for an excursion that takes you to the Mazatlan waterfront for fun in the sun and a memorable meal. It all starts with a scenic ride of approximately 20 minutes to Los Sabalos Resort, where a friendly escort will introduce you to the hotel’s amenities, provide you with towels and a place to change for an afternoon of swimming, sunning and relaxing, including a delicious Mexican lunch. After 2.5 – 4 hours at the resort, you may choose from two departure times for the approximate 20-minute ride back to the ship.

Sierra Madre Tour (7 hours)

The rugged Sierra Madre mountains await your exploration on this exciting excursion that’s great for the whole family. After an approximate 35-minute ride, you’ll visit a variety of traditional Mexican sites, including an adobe brickyard, a tile factory and bakery. Another approximate 15-minute ride takes you to the quaint village of Concordia to visit a 220-year-old church and enjoy a beverage break. Then it’s an approximate 35-minute ride to Copala for a leisurely stroll along the cobblestone streets to see the historic village’s centuries-old buildings—be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. You’ll also enjoy a delicious lunch before departing for your last stop: a ride of approximately 45 minutes takes you to the pottery farm, where children will be able to make a clay memento to take home before the approximate 45-minute ride back to the ship.

Hacienda Las Moras Horseback Riding (5 hours)

Guests ages 10 and up can ride the range on this equine excursion. A 45-minute ride takes you to an authentic Mexican hacienda, a working ranch in the heart of the rustic countryside. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will describe this unique way of life. Once there, you’ll have visit the hacienda’s historic chapel before taking a leisurely-guided ride on horseback for approximately 1 hour. After your ride, you’ll have approximately 1 hour to explore the gardens or spend time at the pool, where complementary snacks and beverages will be served, before departing for the approximate 45-minute ride back to the ship.

Please Note: This excursion is available for guests in good physical condition ages 10 and up; maximum allowable weight is 220 pounds. All guests will be required to wear riding helmets provided by tour operator. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are recommended.

Mexican Family Ranch Party (5 hours)

Enjoy a day in the country, where you can play, swim and relax at one of Mexico ’s premier hacienda resorts. Your excursion begins with an approximate 45-minute ride to Las Moras Ranch. You’ll enjoy a photo stop at the hacienda’s country chapel before arriving at the gracious pool area for approximately 2 1/2 hours of R&R. Take a dip in the pool, stroll through the gardens, and enjoy a delicious lunch amid authentic Mexican artworks and architecture. The day’s highlight will be a festive family piñata breaking before the approximate 45-minute ride back to the ship.

Old Mazatlan Walking Tour (4 - 4.5 hours)

A walk to remember! This fascinating tour highlights the historic sites and landmarks of Mazatlan . An approximate 10-minute ride takes you to the first stop on your walking tour, the Continuity of Life monument, where your guide will greet you and escort you to a variety of notable locales, including a short waterfront stop to see the area’s famed cliff divers. Additional points of interest along the approximate 3.5-hour tour include views of Ice Box Hill, as well as the La Mazatleca and El Venadito monuments, and many historic buildings. In the heart of Mazatlan , you’ll learn about the city’s storied past, visit an old-fashioned bakery and a museum, and see a beautifully restored opera house.

In Machado Square , you’ll enjoy a beverage break before the tour continues through quaint, narrow streets to Mazatlan ’s main square lined with historic buildings, including a 19th-century church. Your final stop before the approximate 10-minute return ride to the ship is the colorful city market, where you’re bound to find a variety of mementoes to take home.

Stone Island Tour (5 hours)

Your tour begins at the pier, where you’ll board a comfortable catamaran for the scenic 20-minute trip to Stone Island . Upon arrival at the island, you’ll board a tractor-drawn farm cart for the 10-minute trip to a palm-lined beach for 4 hours of sun and fun. Lounge chairs and sun umbrellas are provided, with additional beach gear available to rent. Your day at the beach includes a delicious lunch and a festive piñata party before the approximate 20-minute return to the ship.

Deer Island Kayak Adventure (5 hours)

Hit the beach and hit the trail! This island adventure begins with a catamaran ride of approximately 45 minutes to Deer Island . Here, a white-sand beach offers the perfect playground for swimming, hiking and kayaking for approximately 2 hours, with beverages and snacks included. Hiking and kayaking tours lasting approximately 45 minutes each are available or, if you prefer more beach time, you may skip either or both of the tours. The guided kayaking excursion travels to the island’s scenic southern point--bring your camera to capture all the natural beauty en route; waterproof bags are available to store your personal belongings. The guided hike takes you along a gentle ridge on the island, where you’ll enjoy panoramic ocean views. After your island adventure, it’s an approximate 45-minute catamaran ride back to the ship.

Tequila, Saddles, and Huaraches (6.5 - 7 hours)

Handcrafted treasures! A scenic ride of approximately 1 hour takes you to the Tequila Distillery, located in the colorful village of La Vinata . Here, you’ll see the blue agave plants from which tequila is made, learn how the distillery operates, and even sample the famous liquor. After a ride of approximately 10 minutes, the next stop is La Noria, another charming Mexican town where a variety of workshops produce handcrafted items. You’ll visit a pottery, candy-maker, and several leatherwork shops, which produce beautifully hand-tooled leather belts, huaraches (Mexican-style sandals), saddles and other items. Your visit also includes a stop at the historic Saint Anthony de Padua church. Afterwards, you’ll stop at a café on the town’s main square to enjoy a complementary beverage. Here, you may try tonicol, a local beverage of natural vanilla soda made with mineral water, or choose from other soft drinks or bottled water. Then, a ride of approximately 50 minutes takes you to your final stop in Mazatlan for a hearty Mexican lunch before the approximate 15-minute ride back to the ship.

El Cid Golfing Excursion (6.5 hours)

Guests ages 10 and up can enjoy a round of golf at one of the best courses in Mazatlan . Your day begins after an approximate 30-minute ride to the El Cid Golf and Country Club, a par 72 course where a golf cart and caddy await for your 18 holes of play. Didn’t bring your clubs? No problem—clubs are available for rent for a small fee. You may also purchase tasty menu items and beverages at the clubhouse. After 18 holes at the course, it’s an approximate 30-minute ride back to the ship.

Mexican Countryside Expedition (7 hours)

This excursion transports you to Mexico ’s rural roots. First, you’ll enjoy a scenic ride of approximately 40 minutes to visit the oldest tequila factory in the region for a demonstration and festive piñata breaking. Then, an approximate 30-minute ride takes you to the riverside town of El Quelite for a guided tour along quaint streets to the town square and its historic church, with stops on the way to see a primitive earthenware stove still in use and other points of interest. Lunch, as well as folk dancing and lassoing demonstrations, are included in this memorable outing. During the approximate 1-hour return to the ship, you’ll learn several helpful Spanish phrases and a traditional Mexican song.

Folkloric Show and Beach Break (7 hours)

Fun for the whole family, this exciting excursion begins with an approximate 45-minute ride to the Spectaculare Theater for an unforgettable presentation of Mexican culture, music and dance. You’ll enjoy complimentary beverages and snacks as a talented troupe of costumed dancers performs folkloric dances to the beat of traditional fiesta music. After the show, it’s an approximate 15-minute ride to the Las Flores Hotel, ideally located on one of Mazatlan ’s best beaches. Here, you’ll be greeted and introduced to the resort’s many amenities, including 2 pools and a wide, sandy beach. Your 3.5-hour beach break includes a delicious lunch before the approximate 30-minute return to the ship.
