Disney Cruise Line General Information

 

There is a choice of 3, 4 or 7 day cruise, either on it's own or you can book a package for a 7 day vacation, which includes – 3 or 4 day accommodations before your cruise at a selected Walt Disney World hotel; Unlimited admission and unlimited use of the Walt Disney World transportation system; and then a 3 or 4 day Disney Cruise Line cruise to the Bahamas.

Transfers are available from the airport or WDW resort, by special DCL bus. If you're staying at a WDW resort first, your bags will be transferred from your resort room straight to your stateroom on board.

Documents - You will receive your cruise documents about two weeks beforehand, which will include all the details you need to know about your vacation. You'll get the Magic Passport & the document package. The Magic Passport contains information on ports of call, and an overview of amenities & activities onboard. The document package contains important documents relating to the cruise, you should read all of the information & fill in the forms before you arrive at the port terminal.

Note:

US citizens will need to show proof of citizenship (passport, birth certificate or certified naturalization certificate).

Non-US citizens will need to present a passport & re-entry visa at the DCL port terminal.

Embarkation - of the ship begins at 1pm . If you have been staying at a WDW resort, your room card that you used there will also be the key to your room on board ship, the card is also your key to the safe & minibar, & can be used for charging purchases to your room on board & on Castaway Cay

Gratuities - While onboard, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to all bar, beverage, wine and deck service tabs. To those Crew Members who have provided exceptional service to you, the following guidelines are suggested-

These amounts are based per guest, per cruise.

Banking/Cashiers - Banking services are available through the Guest Services desk, including foreign currency exchange, and personal check cashing. Full-service banks are available in Nassau . For a list of available banks, contact Guest Services. Cashiers are available at Guest Services, 24 hours a day.

Pager Rentals - Pocket paging systems are available at Guest Services. A 24-hour notice is requested.

Babysitting - Group babysitting is available for children 12 weeks to 3 years old in Flounder's Reef Nursery, located on Deck 5, Midship. Guests must sign up their children on embarkation day. There is a fee of $6 per child per hour and $5 per additional child per hour, 2-hour minimum required. The facility is open for select hours every day. Rates and times subject to change. Space is limited. Services are subject to availability.

Smoking – this is only allowed in designated areas on the ships – Sessions and Rockin Bar D in the Beat Street entertainment district on the Disney Magic and Wave Bands and The Cadillac Lounge in the Route 66 Entertainment district on the Disney Wonder. Smoking is allowed on the open decks except near Mickey’s Pool and on the verandah of your stateroom (non-smoking rooms are available).

Photographers - there are photographers onboard who will take your picture at specific locations on the ship & also on Castaway Cay. You will find your photos displayed at Shutters (the photography shop) the next day for you to buy if you wish to do so.

 Disembarkation - You will receive information about disembarking whilst onboard. You will need to have your bags packed & in the corridor by about 12 midnight on the final night. You will need to take your hand-luggage with you to breakfast on the final morning, breakfast will be at the same restaurant you were in the night before. Debarkation is at 8:30am .

Customs allowance - $600.00 per person in retail purchases; 1 litre (33.8 Fl. Oz.) of alcohol per person, 21 years and older 1 litre (33.8 Fl. Oz.) of Bahamian alcohol per person 21 years and older; 1 carton of cigarettes (100). Customs forms need to be complete before debarkation and will be distributed by your Stateroom Host/Hostess the day before.

Everyone who has been on a Disney Cruise automatically becomes a member of the Castaway Club. Members are sent offers for discounts on future cruises and a Castaway Club magazine.
