How can I book a room at the Contemporary Resort?

Where is the Contemporary Resort?
In the Magic Kingdom Resort area.

What will I find in my guest room?
Rooms feature two queen-sized beds and a daybed, or one king-sized bed. These rooms are 422 square feet in size and have large bathrooms with two sinks. Amenities include balconies/patios, massage shower heads, in-room safe (Tower rooms), TV, iron, ironing board, table & chairs, closet, hair dryer, mirrors. Refrigerators are available on request at $10 per night.

Are the guest rooms in the Contemporary Tower building?
Some guest rooms are in the Tower building, the others are split between two garden wings.

Where are the best room locations?
Views of Cinderella Castle & the Magic Kingdom fireworks can only be seen in certain Tower rooms.
Although the Tower rooms offer views of the Magic Kingdom, they also face the parking lot, so request a room on a higher floor where this won't be as noticable or noisy.
Rooms in the Tower building are closer to the amenities, transport, shops and dining, but cost more. Rooms in the Bay Lake end of the garden wings are farthest away from the main building.
The North Garden Wing is closer to the Magic Kingdom.
The North Garden Wing generally offers nicer views than the South Garden Wing.
Rooms overlooking the canal in the South Garden Wing building can get noisy from the boats going backwards and forwards between Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Not many of the Garden Wing rooms have balconies, although the first floor rooms do have patios.

Which rooms are smoking?
Smoking rooms can be found on the 8th floor of the Tower building, and on floors 1 and 3 of the South Garden Wing.

Are newspapers delivered to the guest rooms?
There is complimentary daily newspaper delivery to each guest room.

Where are the concierge rooms?
In the Tower building.

What are the benefits of concierge?
Concierge-level amenities include continental breakfast and evening cheese bar with wine and cordials. Click here for more details.

What happens at check-in?
You'll receive your room key (plastic card), a small 'guidebook', park maps, and a copy of 'Visions' the resort's newsletter. You'll also have the option of leaving credit card details so that you can charge anything you purchase during your stay to your room card.

Is Guest Services on the same floor as the shops?
No, Guest Services and Front Desk are on the first floor, which is where you enter the Resort. The shops and monorail station access are on the 4th floor, known as the Grand Concourse.

Are there any activities for children?
There is a children's playground.

Are there childcare facilities?
Yes, the Mouseketeer Clubhouse provides supervised activities for children. For reservations call 407-939-3463. Kindercare offers in-room babysitting. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance. Call 407-827-5444.

Is there a games arcade?
Yes, at the Food 'n Fun Center on the 1st floor.

Are there character meals?
Character breakfast and dinner is available at Chef Mickey's.

Where can I get refillable mugs?
From the Food 'n Fun Center.

Is turndown service available?
Nightly turndown service is available upon request between 5:00pm and 10:00pm.

Where can I find Disney transportation?
The monorail is located on the 4th floor of the Tower building (an escalator or elevator will take you to the monorail loading platform) and makes stops at the Ticket and Transportation Center, Polynesian Resort, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the Magic Kingdom Park.
Buses to the Downtown Disney area (after 4:00pm), Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Blizzard Beach Water Park, are located in between the Tower building and North Garden building at the bus stop.
Water craft transportation to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness is also available.

Is it possible to walk to the Magic Kingdom?
Yes, a walkway is provided linking the Resort to the Magic Kingdom, which is only 5-10 minutes walk away.

Where can I rent boats?
Mercury WaterMouses, canopy boats, sailboats and SunTracker pontoon boats are available for rent at the marina.

Is there a fitness center?
A complete fitness center is located on the 3rd floor of the Tower building, the Olympiad Health Club offers Cybex and aerobic equipment and a dry sauna. A tanning bed is available by appointment, as is a massage therapist. In-room massage service is also provided should you choose.

Can I play tennis at the Contemporary Resort?
Six lighted clay courts are located adjacent to the Contemporary Resort North Garden Building. A pro shop is available with men's and women's apparel, tennis raquets and ball machine. Tennis professionals are available for lessons and clinics. Call 407-WDW-PLAY (407-939-7529) for information and reservations.

What other activities are available?
You'll find a volleyball court and a beach area for outdoor activities. Sammy Duvall's Water Sports Centre is located at the Contemporary Resort marina, where you can take part in water-skiing, parasailing, wake-boarding, kneeboarding and innertubing.

Where can I watch the Electrical Water Pageant?
You can view the Pageant from the beach or pool area, as well as the bay side of the Tower building, each night at 10:05pm.

Can I view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Contemporary Resort?
Diners at California Grill can have a brilliant view of the fireworks. Other guests can view them from the 4th floor viewing area. Certain rooms in the Tower building offer views of the Magic Kingdom.

Where can I buy groceries?
A limited selection of groceries and sundries are available at Concourse Sundries and Spirits.

What are the dining options?
California Grill - Rise to the occasion and enjoy a one-of-a-kind panoramic view of the Magic Kingdom Park from the 15th floor. Experience the unique tastes of the West Coast for dinner. California Grill emphasizes market-fresh creations, all expertly prepared in an on-stage kitchen. A large selection of California wines is available to complement your meal.
Chef Mickey's - Join a host of Disney characters for the ultimate dining experience. Enjoy a delicious unlimited buffet while Chef Mickey and his friends visit you tableside. Located on the 4th floor.
Concourse Steakhouse - Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner amidst the backdrop of the Concourse located on the 4th floor
Food 'n' Fun Center - Start your day off in a festive atmosphere adjacent to a room of video game wonderment located on the 1st floor. The Food 'n Fun Center serves a variety of breakfast specialties like cereal and continental breakfast items. Take a lunch break, or end your day at this quick service location. Convenient counter service features grilled chicken, quiche, hamburgers, hot dogs, chef salads, pizza and sandwiches.
Outer Rim - Overlooking Bay Lake on the 4th floor, the Outer Rim, the cocktail lounge, features a full assortment of cocktails and appetisers.
Sand Bar and Grill - Relax poolside and enjoy cocktails, burgers, deli sandwiches and ice cream in the Marina Pavilion.

Is room service available?
Yes, 24 hours a day.

Is there a swimming pool?
Two heated pools, and hot tubs are available.

Are there shops at the Resort?
Bayview Gifts is the perfect spot for unique gifts, Contemporary Resort merchandise, premium cigars, film and film processing.
Concourse Sundries and Spirits is a one-stop shop for personal items, film, giftwares, souvenirs, non-prescription drugs, liquors, wine, beer, snacks, newspapers, magazines, books and tobacco products.
Contemporary Man offers the latest in men's apparel, sportswear, golfwear, and accessories.
Contemporary Woman features distinctive women's resort fashions, footwear and sportswear, including swimwear and accessories.
At Fantasia, you'll find character apparel and accessories for the young and young at heart, along with decorative gifts and toys from the latest animated features and your all-time favourites.
Kingdom Jewels, Ltd. offers elegant jewelry and decorative Disney gifts.

What time is check-in?
Normal check-in time is after 3:00pm. For early travellers, every effort will be made to get you settled in as soon as possible.

What time is check-out?
Check-out time is before 11:00am. Later check out may be requested. Express check-out is available to guests with American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Disney Credit Card, Discover, Diners Club or JCB.

Where do I get...?
Extra pillows, & blankets, bed rails, baby cribs, handicap aids, extra hangers, towels, refrigerators, coffeemakers, or any other sundry items are available from Housekeeping.

Where do I find the ice machines?
Ice and vending machines are located on each floor of the Tower building across from the elevators. In the Garden buildings, the ice machines are located on each floor next to the lobby area, and also in the vending areas near rooms 6115, 6215, 6315, 8115, 8215 and 8315.

Is there a dry-cleaning service?
Yes, laundry bags and lists are located in the closet in your room. One day service is available if received by 8:30am, and will be returned after 7:00pm.

Is there a guest laundry?
Coin-operated washers and dryers are located on the 2nd floor of the Garden Buildings. Vending machines offer laundry soap and bleach. Folding tables are available.

Where can I get a haircut?
A full-service styling salon offering the latest techniques in hair care and services such as facials, manicures and pedicures is available at the Contemporary Hair Styling Salon. A full-service barber facility is also available. The salon is located on the 3rd floor of the Tower building. Call 407-824-3411.

Where can I send a fax, make copies or mail a package?
The business center is located on the 1st floor of the Convention Center and offers a variety of services including computer usage, work area, clerical services, pager rentals, and mail/package shipment at a nominal fee. Fax and mail service can also be provided by the Front Desk.

Where are the nearest ATM locations?
An ATM machine is in the lobby next to Contemporary Grounds Coffee Bar. Additional ATMs are located at each theme park, the Downtown Disney Area, as well as all Resorts (lobby area).

Where can I purchase stamps and where is the mailbox?
Postage stamps can be purchased on the 4th floor at Bayview Gifts. A mailbox is located in the lobby next to the Contemporary Grounds coffee bar and on the 4th floor near the monorail entrance, or you can give mail to the Front Desk host/hostess.

Where can I make dining priority seating arrangements or purchase tickets?
Priority seating for most Walt Disney World restaurants can be made by touching the WDW DINE button on your in-room phone or by visiting Guest Services. Theme Park tickets are available at either the front desk or Guest Services.

Is luggage assistance available?
Yes, through Bell Services. When you arrive at the resort, someone from Bell Services will assist you to your room with your luggage. When you are ready to leave, just touch the LUGGAGE/VALET SERVICE button on the in-room phone. Gratuity not included.

If I use the package delivery service in the parks, where do I pick them up?
If you shop at any merchandise location at the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or the Downtown Disney area, and choose to have your packages delivered back to your resort, they can be picked up the following day at the Resort merchandise pick-up location.

Does the Resort have wheelchairs available for guest use?
Yes, a limited number of wheelchairs are available at Guest Services. There is no charge, but a credit card guarantee may be required. A limited number or wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are available to rent at the theme parks.
