"We stayed in Yacht Club concierge (lagoon view) room number 5151.
I cannot say enough good things about the Yacht Club. What a lovely
resort-upscale yet relaxed at the same time. The newly renovated rooms
are decorated very nicely, and we really loved the small table that
pulls out from under the desk. We used it every day to eat our breakfast,
and it was so convenient.
The concierge staff was so incredibly friendly and helpful. They
always spoke to us when we passed by and even struck up long conversations
with us. I asked to see some of their suites if they were unoccupied,
and one of the concierge staff members took us on a nice tour of the
empty suites and explained some different features of the ones we didn't
see. They were very
luxurious and lovely, but we didn't have enough time in the suites to
take pictures of them. The concierge staff was very helpful in making
priority seatings for us and was incredibly professional--completely
top notch. The food in the lounge was plentiful, but we did not try
the evening hors d'oeuvers as they looked a bit too gourmet for our
tastes. The breakfast was nice (they had donuts-yum! --as well as bagels,
cereal, oatmeal, etc.), and they had a wide variety of mid-day snacks
(white cheddar popcorn, pretzels, chips and salsa, little cheesecake
slices, etc.). The
dessert offerings were also plentiful, though we were too full to try
those. There's always next time to try the desserts, LOL! I highly recommend
the Yacht Club, and especially the concierge. The resort is so convenient
to Epcot (about a 5 minute walk) and convenient to Disney MGM Studios
as well (we took the walking path, and it took about 15-20 minutes at
a reasonable pace). Two thumbs up!" (12/02) Elisabeth
"Yacht Club August 18-24, 2002
We arrived at the Yacht Club at 11:30am on Sunday August 18th. We told
the person at the desk outside that we were staying in concierge. He
called up to see if our room was ready and to our surprise it was. We
were escorted up to the 5th floor where we checked in with Phyllis.
She was very nice and went over our priority seatings with us. We also
picked up our tickets for the Hoop de doo that we were attending on
Monday night.
This is our first time staying at the Yacht Club and we really like
the look of the lobby as we walked through it. I like the colors of
the Beach Club (the peaches and greens) but liked the room at the Yacht
Club too. We originally had a reservation at the Beach Club but when
my husband found out that the YC rooms had just been re-done he wanted
to switch over to there. Now we had a standard room concierge reserved
at the BC but the YC club only had lagoon view left. We almost didn’t
switch over as we couldn’t get all 7 nights at the YC but with
a little pixie dust we were able to get in.
When we arrived in our room we found many little surprises to celebrate
our 10th wedding anniversary. The YC wrote a nice note welcoming us
and we had a chocolate picture frame with a picture of the YC in white
chocolate. A pin with Mickey and Minnie saying Happy Anniversary, tuxedo
strawberries, an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie wishing a
Happy Anniversary to us and a bottle of champagne. [photos

Now we weren’t expecting any of this so it was nice to receive.
My husband had a dozen roses sent to the room for me and a basket of
snacks for the kids.
We went on the balcony to see our view and it was amazing. We found
the location of the room to be perfect. I am sure that there are other
rooms that have an even better view but we were very happy with ours.
There was also a list of our priority seatings and confirmation numbers
in an envelope waiting for us. I didn’t know they were doing this
and had an illumination cruise booked as a surprise for everyone for
tonight. When my husband opened the envelope he asked what that was
so I just said surprise and explained what it was.
I am not going to explain the room as I already have posted the pictures.
I will add that the tall armoire is gone and now there is a long shorter
dresser. The tv sits on the right side and on the left there is the
ice bucket and glasses, there is also plenty of space on the top for
anything you may want to put there.
On the left side there are doors that are locked and when opened contain
the mini bar and an area where the snacks are, of course there is a
charge for all of this. I don’t understand why they have this
on the concierge level where you have snacks and drinks available in
the lounge free of charge. There are 4 small shelves under the tv side
and 4 drawers. The drawers there and in the dresser next to the closet
are very deep and hold a lot of clothes.
The closet only had 4 hangers so we called housekeeping to bring us
up about 10 more. While we were in the lounge they did deliver them
but only brought 4 more. We had to call them again to send up the rest.
About 10 minutes later they brought up the 10 we originally had asked
for.
After unpacking we went to check out the lounge. When you walk in there
is an area on the left with coffee and tea items. There are bottles
of vanilla and hazelnut syrup out too so if you like hazelnut or vanilla
flavored coffees you can have it. Hot chocolate is also available but
the packets may not be out at all times, if you want some and don’t
see it just ask. On the right there are pitchers of water, lemonade,
ice and ice tea. Soda is available at all times but it’s not out
all the time. In one of the doors of the cabinet you will find the soda
and you can help yourself.
They don’t have plastic water bottles but you can ask for a bottle
of water to take back to your room and it’s a large glass bottle.
We asked for one every night.
Snacks that were out for 11:30am –3pm
Popcorn, pretzels, carrots and celery with dip, chocolate pudding, chips
and salsa, fruit rollups, boxes of raisins, bacon wrapped breadsticks,
fresh whole fruit.
Soda available is coke, diet coke, sprite and ginger ale.
From 3:30-4:30pm they added a cake and some other desserts
We took the kids to the pool for a while, had a snack later in the
afternoon at Hurricane Hannah’s and then went to get ready for
the illumination cruise.
I checked out the snacks in the lounge so that I could let everyone
know what they were.
These are the items they had every night from 5-7pm
Cheese tray, mini corn dogs, veggie tray, whole fruit, pb&j, cookies,
celery with peanut butter and veggie wraps.
These are the items that changed every night
Jalapeno poppers, bbq chicken in pastry cups, rice sushi, grilled veggies,
ham & cheese wraps, scallops wrapped in bacon, vegetable sushi,
chinese dumplins, mini quiches
From 8-10pm there were a few cordials out, a cake and mini desserts
The only thing that I didn’t like in the lounge was the sushi.
The rice was held too long and it was too cold so when you tried to
eat it, it fell apart. They had soy sauce the first time they had sushi
but not the next time. I asked but they said they didn’t have
it. Everyone in my family likes sushi and we usually have it a couple
of times a month at home but this we rated as make believe sushi."
