"Just got back from our spring "Flower Power" Trip. Stayed at the AKL (4 nights, 22-26th) and WL (5 nights,26-31st) This was the first time at WL and the second stay at AKL.

Filled out the itinerary planning sheets and listed on both that it would be my DW birthday (27th) while we were down there. I did arrange with the Disney florist to deliver to our room a suprise basket of goodies, baloons, etc. on her birthday.

I did not request any special room location at either resort.

We drove over to the WL about 9AM to check in. Our room wasn't ready so we checked our bags and bell services took us up to the lounge on the 7th floor. The concerige check in "desk" is right by the elevators with no chairs to sit down. They gave us our itinerary list but it only included the PSs they had made. (No problem, we still had the AKL complete list)

While on the computer, they found a room that was open and switched us to that room (7115). They printed the key cards and took us down to the room. Within minutes, bell services brought up our luggage (without us calling). It was great. The rooms come with refrigerators.

While they were looking for an open room for us, they pulled up our name along with another family with the same last name (long Polish name). I mention this because I am an eternal worrier and I have this gift being delivered the next day and figuring that it would be delivered to the other person. The next morning I mentioned to concierge my fear. They made a notation in the computer and called the florist. They were great. Everything went OK

Comparing AKL and WL concierge food offerings, breakfasts were essentially the same. Neither had English muffins . For the hot afternoon service, the AKL had more hot dishes, but WL had more traditional items, if you don't like the food at Boma's and Jiko's. While AKL had fancy desserts, WL had great chocolate iced brownies The WL does have cardboard trays to carry food back to your room." (6/03) Ed

"We stayed at WL earlier this month (5/1-5/6) and had concierge access added to our room key for $45 per night. I had booked a woodsview room for DH, DD (3 1/2) and myself using one of the springtime codes. I faxed a room request asking for a bunkbed room overlooking the otter pond (thanks to posters here for the recommendation). I also knew from these posts that an upgrade might be available for an additional charge. We got to WL around 6pm and were presently surprised to find on check-in line. The CM who took care of us was very nice. We were assigned room 2012 which overlooked the pond and had bunkbeds just like we requested. I asked about a concierge upgrade and was told rooms were available on the 7th floor but not the type we requested. I asked if we could stay in room 2012 and have access to the 7th floor. I knew from these boards that the ammenities (aside from a refrigerator) on the concierge floor where the same as the other floors so I didn't want to give up the view or bunkbeds. We were given access. After having our bags delivered to our room we went up to the 7th floor. A concierge staff member was waiting to greet us and show us around. She was very pleasant and asked if we needed anything. I asked about getting bed rails for DD and she said she would take care of it. The food offerings between 5-7 were quite substantial and we made dinner of it on a few nights after having a large lunch. Breakfast was also good. Our favorite was dessert time. Each night we went up for a treat. The staff was very attentive and each time they saw us would ask if we needed anything. On our first morning at breakfast one CM noticed that DD enjoyed the grapes from a platter of fruit as well as the Mickey juice pouches. After that a bowl of grapes and a juice box were waiting for her each morning. I think it's those little things that made the concierge experience so nice for us." (5/03) Kate
