Interview with - Goofy Guy

How long have you worked at WDW?
I started working for WDW on April 24, 1997.

Where in WDW do you work?
I work for Victoria and Albert's as a Seater.

What would be a typical day's work for you?
I do work long days from 4 in the afternoon to 2 in the morning. I am constantly working at the highest standards that makes V & A's the best restaurant at WDW and one of the best in the country.

What do you like most about working at WDW?
I love meeting all the new people that come into the restaurant from all over the world. Also it is nice to see our regulars that come in the restaurant. I must admit that I would love to have the kind of money that would allow me to be a regular at V & A's.

Do you have a particular magical memory that sticks in your mind, from working at WDW?
At V & A's we have a wonderful procedure for getting engaged. We have a silver tray and a dome to present the ring. On the tray we arrange flower petals, usually rose petals, to accent the ring. We present the ring right before desert is served. We usually say, "Ms. Whatever, Mr. Whoever has arranged for you to have a special dessert for this evening." We lift the dome. Then we exit fast to let the gentleman take over and give them the privacy for that moment. It is unfortunate that some people do not tell us what they are doing and they do not get this treatment.

If you could give one tip to someone visiting WDW, what would it be?
This is a tip that not too many people know about. If you order one of those tubs of popcorn at the parks, you can get free refills. The same is true about drinks. I always get a tub of popcorn when I first get into the parks. It keeps my son satisfied and we can get more later. I have more of those tub than I know what to do with.

Thanks Goofy Guy
