Interview with Shane
How long have you worked at WDW?
I started working for Disney about 1 1/2 years ago
Where in WDW do you work?
I work in the Magic Kingdom as a park manager.
What does your job involve?
My hours vary depending upon seasons and special events being held
at The
Magic Kingdom. Usually I work from 5pm-1am. Helping guests with
questions, concerns or comments is all in a day's work. I'm there
to help
make the Magic Kingdom a better place to be!
What do you like most about working at WDW?
I love to interact with the guests, and help their trip become
a more
magical experience. I love the fact that we get guests from all
over the
world, and when you talk to them, you can see the excitment in
their eyes. I
also end up see alot of the Florida resident passholders coming
in on a
regular basis, and that to me is awesome!!!
Do you have a particular magical memory that sticks in
your mind, from working at WDW?
They are all very magical, but one really does stick out in my
mind. It was
last August, I had just got off duty and I had seen this family
with this
kinda confused look on their faces. So I walk up to them and
asked if
everything was ok, and the husband responded, "Yes, we are just
waiting for
our Son, today is his Birthday" So I asked, "How hold is he"?
He said 7. I
said well who's his favorite Disney Character? They all said "Mickey
Mouse". I said well, ok, if you stay right here, I think I have
a very
special treat for you all. I went to the special character area,
and asked
Mickey Mouse himself to come on out and surprise the special
little boy. So,
in the meantime, I had a gift basket all made up with lots of
cool Disney
merchandise, and a plush Happy Birthday Mickey, holding a cake.
When Mickey
tapped the little boy on his sholuder, the little boy's face
lit up and gave
Mickey a great big hug. They were so thankful and it just really
made their
trip extra magical!! So it was a very special day at the Magic
Kingdom.
Do you have any tips you'd like to share?
Yes, this is a very important tip for all guests. Please, Please,

questions, comments and concerns that you have. Just remember to
be NICE AND
POLITE!!! Dont be RUDE, being rude with a CM wil get you nowhere!!!!!!

thought you
