The
best time to view the animals is early morning and at sunset.
Go
to the Arusha Rock overlook for the best up-close animal encounters.
Make
time to talk to the African Safari Guides who will tell you about
the animals and life in Africa.
Visit
each of the three savannahs, as different animal species can be
found on each one.
The
gift shop, Zawadi Marketplace, offers some of the most unusual and
beautiful souvenirs at Disney World. With genuine African arts and
crafts alongside standard Disney merchandise, allow yourself some
time to look round.
Go
to the nightly African storytelling around the firepit.
Breakfast
at Boma is a must-do. There are plenty of choices for fussy eaters,
alongside delicious African selections. Dinner is also reportedly
fantastic, but I believe has less choice for the fussy eaters.
Explore
the Resort, there are many beautiful works of art on display, and
quiet places to sit offering different views of the savannas.
Balloons
are not allowed into the Resort because of animal safety. If you
buy a balloon at the park, bell services will look after it for
you until you leave.
Tired
of walking round the parks? Head back to the Lodge for an afternoon
dip in the pool, followed by a leisurely dinner from Mara, eaten
back in your room whilst watching the animals. Perfect!
"Take
a whole roll of film dedicated to the fantastic detail of the Lodge.
Also use a video recorder to identify various things."
"Be sure when staying
at the Animal Kingdom Lodge to make Priority Seating Reservations
Dinner or Breakfast at Boma. Don't think I can just pop down there
to eat when I feel like it unless you want to wait 45 minutes. It's
a very popular resturant. Last time I stayed there I made a reservation
for Boma Dinner just 1 hour before and was seated in 5 minutes!!!
I always make reservations at Disney, I hate waiting!!!!"
